WEEK 6
| the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (6) |
monday - thursday (31) survivors ![]() Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods. (OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.) taken list profiles private conversations setting rulebook murder proposals ENTER COMMAND_ |

VALUED & VULNERABLE
Hello, travelers. I have an announcement to make about this week's valued and vulnerable participants. If you have forgotten, I will remind you: those that are valued are protected this week and cannot be made into a victim, but are still allowed to carry out a murder if they so wish. If a participant wishes to kill a vulnerable participant, they will be allotted one extra tool of their choice to carry out the murder. It is not necessary for a vulnerable participant to be a victim. Any participant not on the valued participants list may be selected as a victim. The tools are as follows.
[ She reads off a list of tools. ]
The valued players this week are as follows.
Iron Bull, for this week's most salacious love life.
Adam Parrish, for being this week's most engaged participant.
Grell Sutcliffe, for undisclosed reasons.
The vulnerable players are as follows.
Fumi Kanno, for being a fussy young lady.
Light Field, because there is no accessibility in space.

MOTIVE
Good morning, travelers. I trust you all thirty-one of you are well. I am here to announce this week's motive. This one may be familiar.
[ There is a small pause, as if she must take a moment to clear her throat before continuing. ]
“One morning, as Gregor Samsa was waking up from anxious dreams, he discovered that in his bed he had been changed into a monstrous bug…”. This is the opening line to Franz Kafka's novella The Metamorphosis. Kafka's writing is noteworthy for handling surreal and gruesome situations casually. In The Metamorphosis, Kafka's protagonist, Gregor, is transformed into a giant insect, most likely a cockroach, for seemingly inexplicable reasons. No reasoning is given. That is because the reason does not matter — his nightmares had become reality, and he gradually becomes more and more of a burden on all facets of society — for his family, for his career, and for civilization as a whole. He becomes both a literal and allegorical cockroach.
Will you, too, become a cockroach like Gregor? I have to wonder. This week, you will be plagued with nightmarish visions — those of your worst possible fears. In time, you may become what you foresee in those nightmares. The only way to allay your mind is to kill this week.
no subject
And what exactly is a cockroach? It sounds pathetic. This Kafka was just overreacting.

{ For once, he's not in the viewport on a Tuesday (that's a lie he was there this early morning) and this time in this room. The motive's on his mind, and Arumat has terrible enough nightmares...them being worsened has simply made him decide to forego sleep altogether as long as he can. Of course this'll mean he might be somehow crankier and pissy than usual, but it was probably worth it.
If someone comes in, he'll speak up almost immediately. }
A word of warning:
It's not entirely impossible to find yourself stuck to the ceiling if you're not careful with this technology.
{ Is he serious.. or just saying that. Who knows. }
wednesday::archives
{ This time, he's not here for the information -- everyone's looked through it enough to conclude its all useless, including himself. He came in here because of the calming feel the place gives off. He's sitting down somewhere in here with his scythe nearby him as per the usual.
He seems quiet, with his eyes closed, as if... resting.
Is he asleep? }
...Hmph. What brought you into here?
{ Apparently not. }
wildcard
{ Feel free to hit me with a random idea or scenario if you want! }

Tuesday Afternoon
Shelley is in the lounge, and looks like she's taking the booze as her possession now. Of course, given her mood, this is truly drinking to drown her sorrows. Welp. She's not completely drunk, though, and if you approach it's likely you'll be able to have a conversation with her! Just...be aware she's not exactly the same cheerful Shelley she usually is.
Thursday Afternoon
There we go again in the Lounge, and Shelley is feeling better! And she has her sketchbook out. If you pass by, Shelley will start sketching and staring at you carefully. Yeah, she's good at drawing! Overall it seems she's finally leaving behind the feelings of betrayal regarding Kazuma, althooooough...yeah, as you may suppose, the feelings don't fully go away. But at least she seems to be better now!
Well she has eyebags due to the nightmarish visions that assault her from time to time, but it seems she isn't really affected by them. Look, she literally punched and gave a severe beatdown to her so-called worst fear, she has nothing to fear now!]
thursday
Shelley, hey. I didn't know you could draw!
[up close he looks a bit tired, but it's nothing too awful. he mostly looks genuinely curious about her sketchbook]

[ fiona always manages to find some way to occupy herself. today, that is by burning shit. she's pretty impressed how much fire the incinerator can conjure and just how consistently it can do that. if you walk in, you might see her placing some discarded stuff in the incinerator room like napkins, plastic containers, maybe even a shirt or two if she's feeling fancy.
she tosses the things in there and then reclines in a nearby chair with her feet propped up as she watches all of it go down in flames. somehow her expression is still pretty blase. ]
WEDNESDAY: parlor
[ wednesday comes, and with it, some bad feelings. fiona's nightmares were pretty standard — along with your basic stuff like teeth falling out and being ugly, she dreamt of sasha. she woke up feeling helpless, restless, grasping for something she can't reach.
she decided she'd swear off sleep. at least until the effects of the motive had ended. as such, she finds herself wandering the halls, looking for anyone she knows — she felt lonely. it was a rare feeling, wanting to be around someone so badly like this. when she sees someone she recognizes walk into the parlor, she approaches them immediately, smiling. ]
Hey, do you need help with anything? As in like 'helping the old lady next door take her groceries inside' kinda help, not the murder kind.
wednesday
Oh, it's just you, Fiona.
[Jessie sounds a little relieved when she turns and it sees it's Fiona behind her. She's on the ground, on her hands and knees. She'd been hallucinating pennies, and she had the strangest desire to pick them up, like they were the most important source of revenue in the world.
But she springs to her feet.]
I was just checking the floor for clues.

Each of the datapads, wherever they are, flicker. The screen blacks out, then pops back on, and when it does, a string of code passes by. For those capable of reading code, they might recognize it as coding for a surprisingly simple game. The datapads flicker once more, and then the screen that comes up alerts each of the remaining participants that something is downloading.

[at around six or seven on monday, adelina is sitting on the floor in the zero gravity room with the settings turned to normal gravity, which is possibly the most boring use of this room to exist. shame.
the wall setting is set to 'horsehead nebula', and she's holding a pencil and paper as she looks at the image. there's a small smile on her face as she sketches.]
b
[alternatively, around an hour later, it seems she's figured out how to work the controls to alter the level of gravity. after a few bumps (literally, thanks ceiling), she's hovering in midair as she draws to get a different angle.
until she holds the pencil a bit too lightly and it goes floating up above her quicker than she manages to grab it once more. oops.]
...I should have realized that may happen.
thursday late morning, holding cells
[as the week progresses, she's been trying to sleep less, but being poorly rested doesn't help her in dealing with the nightmares when they come. there's a night that she's rested that she hasn't awoken panicked, crying, only to feel a deep sense of sorrow and loss when she remembers where she is.
she'd be perfectly content to spend the day in her room, but she knows she'll be forced to leave eventually. she has enough dignity to avoid being dragged out, so before that can happen, she leaves the room to sit in a corner of the holding cell, regaining her composure enough that she at least looks somber rather than distressed. she'll glance up at anyone who enters, but she won't start a conversation without being approached.]

[ Near, Far, Wherever you are… you get to see the sight of a pink-haired pint-sized juggernaut and her "makes good decisions" brother snapping selfies. Yes, there is potential murder afoot but… you know, first, let me take a selfie. They’ve yoinked a tablet from the parlor and Clover’s hauling Light up and down the ship and making him take a selfie with her in front of everything even sort of interesting. There are a lot of silly faces involved. ]
Ooh, I found the filters. I’m using the one that gives us flower crowns on this one.
[ From Light, a chuckle. He can’t see them so filters don’t even Matter but who cares. ] They do have filters for everything, don’t they? So, is there a humorous expression planned for this one, as well?
I’m feelin’ the duckface for this one.
[ And to anyone passing by— ]
Hey, c’mere, come take a selfie with us.
Elevator Corridor - Wednesday
[ We’re sorry in advance for this monstrosity. But! For all of those outside in the elevator corridor in the afternoon, a big surprise is waiting for you. A CORPSE. No, just kidding. But really, it’s literally a big surprise. An Intense pile of chairs, sofas, pillows… all forming a barricade in front of the door leading to Light’s unit.
And, just as expected, there are two (2) Field Siblings in front of it. Depending on who you look at, one may or may not be proud of their handiwork, and another may be inquisitively looking at the pile like this was a better idea in an alternate dimension. Or… just on paper. Oh well, it’s still Humorous.
And, hey, here’s Light. And when he hears you approaching, he’s tilting his head in your general direction. ]
Ah, hello. What do you think?
( joint options for clover and light! order is you, clover and then light. )
Tuesday
What is the point of taking a 'selfie'?

[On occasion anyone out will find that Luke has taken to wandering the hallways simply to keep busy. Careful though; every now and then he'll be checking himself out in the most sparkly pink compact mirror courtesy of Clover. In those moments he won't be watching where he's going though. Sorry if he collides straight into you and then proceeds to jump 20 feet in the air.]
Also Tuesday-late Thursday, dry storage
[Anyone in the dry storage room will probably assume they're alone, but if they listen long enough they'll hear something rattling above them in the vents. Investigate?]
Wednesday afternoon, airlock
[And in his wandering though, he'll eventually find himself at the entrance of the airlock. He doesn't quite enter it, but he can be found sitting and staring at the exit. He assumes nobody will come bother him here either. It's a good place to contemplate, at least.]

WEDNESDAY the best joint toplevel
Ok no there’s a sign on the front of the table that explains their purpose. Apparently you can trade them Furry Passing furniture for...art? The sign reads THREE FURRY PASSING FURNITURE = ONE MASTERPIECE OF YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE. It looks like there’s already two incredible samples of their work.
Why would you make this decision. If you attempt not to make this decision, however, you’ll be stopped by the pair actually speaking to you instead of drawing more terrible art: ]
Whoa, hold up, what’s your hurry? [ dave’s calm voice isn’t really much of an incentive to stay, but come back, ok. ]
Let them go, Shades. They’re clearly just too scared to see their worst nightmare come to life in our artwork. [ Judar, meanwhile, puts as much mocking derision in his tone as possible let him draw you shitty art please. ]

when they address her as she attempts to leave, though, she speaks in a fairly deadpan voice:]
It is... not the type of artwork I have an interest in, to be entirely honest.

[ It's therapeutic, she thinks. It's one of the few things that's calming her down. She's had her fair share of waking up, sobbing to herself for an hour or so, and trying to ignore the visions plaguing her mind. Elizabeth is naive enough to venture alone to the art supply room, to gather the brushes needed and the paints for an idea - one that started at first with prepping the canvas tarp to hang loosely in the hallway where their bedrooms are located. By the time Elizabeth preps her paint and gets started, there's a smaller piece of paper with a clear outline of a city sketched onto it. Guess what she's going to paint? ]
wednesday night
[ Later on, Elizabeth is further down the road in her painting. It's around 1/3rd done - the highlights of the glow from the Eiffel Tower. Elizabeth is covered in paint - smudges on her nose, clothing, and she's finally going to start calling it a night. She stops, standing on her tip-toes and beginning to paint stars - beautiful and inaccurate, but still stars. From dots to specks to large outlined shapes, Elizabeth is focused on space. She's focused on panning the sky as if she had a burst of creative energy. ]
