friday (?) survivors Friday careens around the corner soon enough, much like every day preceding it does. This morning, however, is greeted with a surprise — your datapad is making a strange noise. Perhaps it's buried under the duvet you're sleeping under, or at the far corner of the room, maybe you're the forgetful type and left it in the bathroom, or maybe, just maybe, you have it right next to your ear when a song blasts at full volume. Upon inspection, you'll find the accompanying video is playing as well. The song seems to loop, this time being overlain with a voice recanting the history of the band in a steady, robotic tone. Was it the AI? You probably didn't care, and, instead, decided to leave your room. Once you do, the song finally ends. You are free. You may feel rather manipulated right now, or you are just satiated to be away from the music. Either way, it's clear your day has only just begun. ENTER COMMAND_

[As you're walking past the daycare this morning, you may notice that one of the balls has rolled out the door....]

[ Guess who’s up and at ‘em first thing in the morning? If nothing’s immediately wrong upon leaving his unit, Machias is going to make some rounds before breakfast.

[That's exactly what Jessie is doing, she wants to see if she can let a certain something loose while everyone is still eating breakfast. Fuck that stray ball, she's going in.]

[ Elizabeth's immediately clued in on the ball. Picking it up into her hand, she's pushing the door open. She's inside and looking, primarily towards the ball pit - looking for anyone who may have been tossing them, as she had been earlier the week...

She moves closer, closer to see the shadows cast between the piles of balls. ]

[Clover's one of those people who isn't actually a person until she's had her coffee and she is especially unhappy about being woken up by datapad bullshit so she hasn't even changed out of her pajamas. Whatever who cares we're all gonna die anyway. Anything of note on the way to the process of caffeine cube preparation?]

[That singular ball pit ball is too close to "baby shoes, never worn" so she's not approaching right now. Instead she goes down the hallway and pokes her head into the room they all woke up in. Maybe there are a few extra blankets left over that she can snatch-]

[Everyone's datapads suddenly begin vibrating and emitting a loud and harsh beeping sound at once. AL-2955's voice echoes throughout the ship.]

A body has been found. The investigation has begun.

OUTSIDE THE DAYCARE

[One daycare, never used, then used for murder.

Jessie is stationed outside the daycare after doing some quick searches for physical evidence. While Elizabeth is mobile, she'll have to stand guard and inform people of who it is if they come by. She has bloodstains on her clothes and she looks unhappy (if you spot her from a distance, she might even look a bit shaky, but she always steels her nerves when people are close).]

You can't come in here.

[She sounds a lot like she's saying "fight me, nerd."]

[ooc; Jessie will give anyone the bare basics of the case (the name of the victim and the location), but won't explain anything more! She'll leave once the body has been recovered.]

Thanks to some smooth talking, Dorian has gotten himself a coveted ticket in. Of course, once he's inside, there's no body to be found, but that doesn't mean he won't have a look around, and try to get a feel for the scene. He doesn't exactly know what he's looking for, though.]

[Thanks to bulging muscles and sheer animal magnetism, Bull has also gotten a ticket to the murder zone. He hadn't been in the play room much - it was all stuff that was sort of too small for adult humans to have fun on, let alone an adult qunari, so yet another sized based microaggression added to the list.]

[In any case, a girl dressed up like a ladybug and a boy dressed up like a cat who are definitely not Marinette and Adrien, of course not, are going back and forth between the crime scene and around, looking for clues. At one point, the girl holds up her hand and pitches her voice to try to get as many people’s attention as possible]

Everyone, please listen to me! I know what’s just happened is very stressful -- but we have to remain calm. I promise you, Ladybug and Chat Noir will do everything in our power to find the ones responsible and see you all home safely.

So, please, if you have any information about what happened -- the woman that was killed -- the body-- anything, come to us. We’ll be working to solve this as fast as we can. And above all else, we all need to keep a cool head!

[during this whole speech, Chat Noir who is definitely not Adrien, is standing off a little to the side, arms crossed. Is he trying to be back-up muscle. This is embarrassing. Why are these cosplaying children trying to be reassuring.]

Regardless, Chat Noir and I have no intention of playing along with this so-called game. We just want to find the people responsible.
