WEEK 1 - Investigation
| the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (1) |
friday (?) survivors ![]() Friday careens around the corner soon enough, much like every day preceding it does. This morning, however, is greeted with a surprise — your datapad is making a strange noise. Perhaps it's buried under the duvet you're sleeping under, or at the far corner of the room, maybe you're the forgetful type and left it in the bathroom, or maybe, just maybe, you have it right next to your ear when a song blasts at full volume. Upon inspection, you'll find the accompanying video is playing as well. The song seems to loop, this time being overlain with a voice recanting the history of the band in a steady, robotic tone. Was it the AI? You probably didn't care, and, instead, decided to leave your room. Once you do, the song finally ends. You are free. You may feel rather manipulated right now, or you are just satiated to be away from the music. Either way, it's clear your day has only just begun. ENTER COMMAND_ |

I don't think this is an accident. It's like... she's been struck off of the list.
[ it's awfully morbid - a feeling of dread spreads through her as much as it did when she heard the body announcement. ]

[ He doesn't! know her! But he's still going to mutter under his breath very, very disdainfully. Absolutely sickening. ... Machias, you don't even know her beyond the fact she's a woman. You didn't even remember her first name. ]
So it's not enough they stooped that low enough to target a woman, but they just had to show that kind of disrespect...!

[ the fact that whoever brought them all here is treating this like a game in the first place sickens her, too. just because she's accepted death as an inevitability, that doesn't mean that lives should be toyed with.
but she'll put that anger aside to try an focus on her card again. ]
It says here that she was a trained martial artist... Did it look like she put up a fight?

he shakes his head. ]
No, not that I've seen. It's clear enough there was some sort of struggle in here, but I saw no defensive wounds on the body itself. [ hmm. ] It is strange, though, now that you mention it. There should have been if she tried to defend herself.

[ and things like that are hard to cover up, especially on short notice... but she looks up from the data pad to where the body was found again, making a face. she can't really piece things together. ]
According to this, everything about this crime scene is weird. What would a defense lawyer be doing in a ball pit, anyway?

[ he'll guide her over to the carousel (if she's not there already) and point out the seats where she'd been trapped. ]
We actually found her stuck in-between those. ... It just doesn't make sense. [ ugh. rubbing a temple now this is frustrating ] From what I could tell, she couldn't have been gone for very long. And the look I'd seen on her face didn't seen indicative of someone caught up in a struggle either.

[ she looks over to the carousel and grimaces as she imagines the scene. that can't be a pleasant place to spend your final moments.
she finds herself sighing. ]
I wish I could have been there to help her.

[ he falls silent, looking serious. more in a somber way and less in a constantly uptight frustrated way. ]

We'll avenge her by finding out who did this. It's the best we can do right now.
