WEEK 1 - Investigation

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (1)

friday

(?) survivors

Friday careens around the corner soon enough, much like every day preceding it does. This morning, however, is greeted with a surprise — your datapad is making a strange noise. Perhaps it's buried under the duvet you're sleeping under, or at the far corner of the room, maybe you're the forgetful type and left it in the bathroom, or maybe, just maybe, you have it right next to your ear when a song blasts at full volume. Upon inspection, you'll find the accompanying video is playing as well. The song seems to loop, this time being overlain with a voice recanting the history of the band in a steady, robotic tone. Was it the AI? You probably didn't care, and, instead, decided to leave your room.

Once you do, the song finally ends. You are free. You may feel rather manipulated right now, or you are just satiated to be away from the music. Either way, it's clear your day has only just begun.

Is this the face of a murderer? Besides, I only wanted to have a look around.

A murderer can wear any face they want.

[But well, Frankenstein at least doesn't look opposed to Dorian's presence - so he doesn't seem to consider the other to be the perpetrator. At the moment.]

Caught sight of anything interesting? I was hoping to get a look at the body itself but that was a bit too optimistic.

Hm, no. It's a bit difficult to imagine the scene as it was. I can't imagine what I expected to find, looking around.

There are some clues.

[Though he's trying to put the picture together himself.]

Have you spoken with Machias? He can inform you on the state of the body - though admittedly it's an amateur job, but no child should be expected to handle this in the first place.

I have not had that chance. It concerns me that, with Elizabeth and Jesse elsewhere, only one person had occasion to truly observe the body. I'm sure the young man is trustworthy enough, but it's perhaps not a precedent we'd want to set.

What do you propose? While I agree, a swarm of people around a dead body could only contaminate the crime scene and allow the true perpetrator a chance to throw in additional red herrings.

I arrived as soon as I could, but the robots were determined to take the body regardless.

Perhaps, once this unpleasant matter is dispensed of, it would be wise to discuss protocol, should this happen again. A guard is an excellent idea. Two guards, better yet.

And the purpose of this guard? To keep others from coming in or to keep the robots out?

[As much as he'd love to try the latter, that's against the rules or something.]
