WEEK 1 - Investigation
| the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (1) |
friday (?) survivors ![]() Friday careens around the corner soon enough, much like every day preceding it does. This morning, however, is greeted with a surprise — your datapad is making a strange noise. Perhaps it's buried under the duvet you're sleeping under, or at the far corner of the room, maybe you're the forgetful type and left it in the bathroom, or maybe, just maybe, you have it right next to your ear when a song blasts at full volume. Upon inspection, you'll find the accompanying video is playing as well. The song seems to loop, this time being overlain with a voice recanting the history of the band in a steady, robotic tone. Was it the AI? You probably didn't care, and, instead, decided to leave your room. Once you do, the song finally ends. You are free. You may feel rather manipulated right now, or you are just satiated to be away from the music. Either way, it's clear your day has only just begun. ENTER COMMAND_ |

Corpse Room
Thanks to some smooth talking, Dorian has gotten himself a coveted ticket in. Of course, once he's inside, there's no body to be found, but that doesn't mean he won't have a look around, and try to get a feel for the scene. He doesn't exactly know what he's looking for, though.]

Need another eye?

They've already removed the body. But the victim was a woman, Callista Few. I thought it best no one be left alone in this room. As keen as Jesse may have been to keep it that way.

Some people just can't handle their dead bodies. Yeah, best to take a look around, before too many boots get all over it.

Frankenstein's going to get his nice lab coat all bloody at this rate, from his observation of the ball pit and now the carousel itself. When Dorian wanders close, he looks up and still manages a smile - though his eyes are still not nearly so relaxed, given the situation]
You know, from the sound of it, you didn't even need Machias to vouch for you in order to gain entrance.
[nice.]

[But well, Frankenstein at least doesn't look opposed to Dorian's presence - so he doesn't seem to consider the other to be the perpetrator. At the moment.]
Caught sight of anything interesting? I was hoping to get a look at the body itself but that was a bit too optimistic.

Even you must admit that the alternative sounds unfortunate.

Everyone may be concerned with the actual location of where the body once laid, but Elizabeth ventures back to the ballpit. She is back to the ballpit getting to her knees and carefully beginning to look through the mountains of multi-colored and blood stained balls.
And she just washed her damn hands too. But - why? Why was this bloody..? ]

Frankenstein's already removing his own medical gloves as he crouches, then offering them to her.]
Please don't leave any more of your fingerprints here. It's understandable since you were the first to arrive, but I'd rather not deal with additional complications.
no subject
I'm sorry. I should have been more careful.
[ But, she'll explain. ]
I approached with Jessie and Machias because the door was open. We went in... and... and the ballpit was deflated.
[ And she's going to dig through the balls now, trying to find the bottom only to have them hilariously pile back ontop of her arms. Oops. ]
I found blood here, but the body was - [ She glances to the crime scene. ] Maybe there was something here that I missed - I ran over when Jessie screamed.

[A little concerned, she's digging around in the bloody ball pit, what he's been led to believe is a punishment pit for misbehaving children.]

Here.
[ Elizabeth lifts up one of the balls with her thumbprints on it, smeared in with splatters of red. ]
I found a few of them when I was inspecting where the ballpit was torn. I thought people were rough housing in it... however, it wasn't exactly what I thought it was.

So what actually happened in here, from what you guys found? We should get that a little more out in the open first now that we know who the person is. [calisto blue? an name to match her suit? something like that.
she can ask what elizabeth is looking for in a second, but finding out the other stuff needs to come first.]
no subject
[ She recalls, sighing heavily. ]
The ballpit was deflated. Everyone had been using it - so childishly at that, it wasn't a shock it had torn.
[ Even she notes the material had been thin. ]
They discovered the body, but I discovered the blood. [ A clarification and she stammers: ] It was over by the merry-go-round.

He's still in the room and hasn't left the scene, in case anyone needs to ask him about the state of the body. His arms are crossed and it's very clear he's still looking a bit grim from the discovery earlier, but aside from that he's not too shaken to answer any questions. ]
no subject
she only spoke to calisto one time, anyway.]
You were one of the ones that found her, right? [she's been paying enough attention.]
no subject
That's right. Elizabeth, Jessie, and I noticed the daycare in disarray, so we went in to investigate. ... That's when we found Miss Yew.
[ look. he doesn't want to disrespect the dead any more than it already has been. just who would be so low to kill a lady like that?? ]

Pardon me. I was informed there were three who discovered the body in its original state — would you happen to be one of those?

[ well that's one way to break his concentration. having been a little lost in thought before, he looks up then nods slowly, not quite remembering he's blind. at least not right away. even though clover was right next to him reading off the profile cards one by one, but she could have just been doing it for kicks. ]
We didn't have a lot of time to get a thorough look over, but I'll try to answer any questions you have.

she's gone through the main parts of the crime scene, and is now examining a data pad that she procured. a look over her shoulder will allow you to see that she's looking at everyone's information cards, but she stops at calisto's to examine its contents carefully. she looks like she's in some intense thought... could she's onto something?
or she could just be trying to look smart. only one way to find out! ]
no subject
Everything okay? Did you find something?
no subject
[ she turns the data pad around for machias to see - unlike everyone else, her card looks... different. ]
At least we can confirm that it's her...
