WEEK 1 - Investigation

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (1)

friday

(?) survivors

Friday careens around the corner soon enough, much like every day preceding it does. This morning, however, is greeted with a surprise — your datapad is making a strange noise. Perhaps it's buried under the duvet you're sleeping under, or at the far corner of the room, maybe you're the forgetful type and left it in the bathroom, or maybe, just maybe, you have it right next to your ear when a song blasts at full volume. Upon inspection, you'll find the accompanying video is playing as well. The song seems to loop, this time being overlain with a voice recanting the history of the band in a steady, robotic tone. Was it the AI? You probably didn't care, and, instead, decided to leave your room.

Once you do, the song finally ends. You are free. You may feel rather manipulated right now, or you are just satiated to be away from the music. Either way, it's clear your day has only just begun.

[ well. light is... snaking around here carefully, and while he might be blind he's definitely adept enough to figure out that someone is in this room... though he can't quite be sure who it is, just based on them standing still.

so, from the man with his eyes closed, a polite: ]

Pardon me. I was informed there were three who discovered the body in its original state — would you happen to be one of those?

... That's right.

[ well that's one way to break his concentration. having been a little lost in thought before, he looks up then nods slowly, not quite remembering he's blind. at least not right away. even though clover was right next to him reading off the profile cards one by one, but she could have just been doing it for kicks. ]

We didn't have a lot of time to get a thorough look over, but I'll try to answer any questions you have.

I've heard. I'd rather not waste time having someone explain its appearance during the trial, so I appreciate your willingness to cooperate.

[ since that's what they're preparing for now, isn't it? the big ol' trial.

putting aside his odd sentence there... ]

Ah, that is my first question, by the way. The state of the body when you found it, though I've heard some second-hand accounts myself. Two stab wounds, was it...?

[ explain the state of the body? but isn't that what they're about to do right now. why would it waste time, unless... hm. ]

Before we start, I should introduce myself. I'm Machias Regnitz. Along with Jessie and Elizabeth, the three of us discovered the body I'd say... [ pause. of all the times to not have a watch, but he's good at keeping time? usually? ] not even an hour ago.

[ get that taken care of. now it's time to talk about amateur body poking, done by a professional military high school teenager. ]

We found it over by the toppled carousel, stuck in-between some seats. And yes, she'd been stabbed twice in both the chest and stomach.
