WEEK SIX - TRIAL DAY TWO
| the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (6) |
saturday TRIAL DAY TWO (29) survivors ![]() At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote. |

Deadly nightshade + Poison Ivy + Observations & Conclusions
EVIDENTIAL REPORT
Poison Ivy - A few leaves were found torn from the plant in the garden and it was used by the killer to wipe against the door entry pad to her room in order to coerce her and Light to go to the medbay. It was also disposed of by incineration. Dangerous to one's health when burned, and only lethal when the amount burned is great. When it isn't burned, it doesn't have a scent that can be detected. When it is burned the scent is strong and hard to miss, causing irregularity of the heart. Causes rashes when touched by bare skin.
Note: Verification that poison ivy was the plant responsible for the above mentioned usage was done by civilian Adrien Agreste.
Dave Strider is the one who recognized how the plant appears by sight, as he is familiar with the flora itself.
We all also observed that the killer was very much in a hurry to carry out the deed given how hurriedly they ripped off some of the leaves from the poison ivy.
Deadly nightshade [ Since Arumat actually had to bring it in, you get a nice actual visage of the plant. ] - Another plant from Earth. Can be used as medicinal in small amounts, and anything greater than that would be dangerous considering how extremely toxic it is via ingestion in such numbers.
In addition, someone attempted to cover up that they took one whole plant of the nightshade by moving dirt over a gap between the plants that were still remaining. That is all.
- Arumat P. Thanatos, Dave Strider & Adrien Agreste
JACK'S ROOM
The largest bloodstain was near his desk, and smaller pools of it led into the bathroom. There we found a knife, presumably the one he was stabbed with. The blood in this room was largely concentrated near his toilet, so I imagine he sat down after he was injured. There were two towels, both stained with blood, though the blood on one of them was diluted. I imagine this is because the towel had water on it as well.
In his desk, there were papers with strange diagrams and what seemed to be mathematical equations. I would imagine this had to do with the program he mentioned he was working on for the datapads. Apart from the blood and alcohol stains and the glass, the rest of his quarters were quite neat. We have brought back the knife, the broken glass, and the bloodied towels.
[And true to her word, all these items are now in evidence to be looked over by anyone curious.]
Light's room
Other than a couple of books there wasn't much in the room.
[And since the list Light and Clover made isn't relevant to the case, he thinks, he isn't bringing it up either. So there.]

Clover's Room
Hancock's Body
Also found a note on a napkin in his pocket, a list of tools:
luminol (X)
fingerprinting kit (X)
poison detection kit
clean food
bottled water
flashlight
magnifying glass
black light
tool kit
mystery device (X)(X)
Seems to confirm he had the third party role.
FRANKENSTEIN'S ROOM
There were a few personal letters addressed to people onboard - Light and Clover Field's names among them. Aside from that, we didn't find anything that seemed relevant to the investigation.
Elizabeth's room
Hancock's Room
Hancock's letter was a little.... [she only read the part where they made out!!] Well, it suited his personality.
Fumi's Room
Also, she's a fan of hopscotch, has been working about the extent of her powers, whatever they are, and has chemical notes that may be about stuff from the medbay. Maybe it's about the salve.
Body
A holographic screen above the body displays two color photos of the scene when the body discovery alarms rang at 10:03 AM and 10:06 AM. The photographs are close ups - they portray Light and Hancock's bodies, but no more of the scene than is necessary to do so. Still, if you want to check their position, it makes it easy to do so.

Greetings, participants. I hope you are all feeling refreshed after last night's rest. As always, I am at your disposal should you need to ask anything. Good luck.
[The holographic image will remain throughout the trial. You're free to ask her whatever you want, though whether she'll answer is a different question entirely.]

Summary
First of all, the killer's initial plan had to involve targeting Light somehow. Because the killer was able to get a turret as part of their plan - and they put it in the salve cabinet of the medical bay. They then stole deadly nightshade and poison ivy from the garden, and, using a syringe from the medical bay, put poison ivy on Clover's keypad so that she would develop a rash on her hand. They then disposed of the syringe in the incinerator and burned it - there's still melted plastic behind - but the fumes are dangerous, as we know from Roxy and Adrien [SHOOTS AT GLARE AT HIM] getting sick.
Once the turret was in the salve cabinet, the killer activated it with an app on their datapad - which disappeared after use - from inside the medbay. This is because they had to have been in the medbay to activate it, we confirmed that yesterday. Then, all they had to do was wait for for Light to take Clover to the medbay, open the cabinet, and....
[....]
We still don't know what the nightshade [SHE'S NOT CALLING IT NAUGHTY MAN'S CHERRIES] was used for, and how exactly Hancock's death factored into this. What we do know was that the poison ivy was dug up in a hurry. And cotton gloves are now missing from the art storage, presumably to have done this.
And, er, either Light or Hancock was the one providing us with items. One of them had a third party role called the "Weirding".

I've got a question. Doesn't Elizabeth's alibi stick her right in the hallway where our rooms are during the time the Fields came and went? Isn't that where the mural is? [Its a long shot but he's curious maybe if she saw them. Sorry Liz. Gotta ask the hard questions and blame equally for a while.]

Though -- is it possible he was poisoned accidentally? We know the killer collected belladonna but wound up using poison ivy instead last minute. What if they had to change their plan because Hancock accidentally ingested the poison? His profile says he was resistant to drugs, perhaps he would have also been somewhat resistant to poison.

Poison Results and the Anti-Jack Campaign
also, he sort of kissed fiona. yeaaaah. ]
So, turns out the bottle of wine was poisoned. Very valid, crazy legit, pregnancy test confirmed. I guess someone's having a baby? Not Jack though, because he's a terrible father! 0/10, do not recommend. But as everyone knows, this kind of paints a target on Elizabeth's back.
[ and then he stands up and wags his cigar at everyone in the room, still holding the ice pack to his forehead. ]
Which means I'm going to suggest this -- even if Liz maybe kind of had some involvement in this, everyone knows she wouldn't do it. Probably was tricked into it. Look at her! Look at Hancock! They were, uh, besties or something. Whatever! What I want everyone to do is look deep into their hearts and realize this: Handsome Jack is an asshole. He isn't even very handsome! Look at his face, it's grotesque! So, vote Jack. A vote for Jack is a vote not for Liz or... wait, who else is a suspect?
[ looking at his datapad here ]
Frank...enstein... Fumi? Is that short for something? Fumigation? And Clover! They're nobodies and no one gives a shit, also Clover's busy angsting about her brother. No one wants to kill a crybaby! Instead, kill Jack! He doesn't know how to feel human emotions!
[ then he sways a little in place and falls back down in his chair. ]
... Whoa, kind of dizzy here.
no subject
Or, we could discuss actual theories as to how the wine came to be poisoned.
Personally, I don't feel that this implicates Elizabeth. For one thing, she included her meeting with Hancock where he was presumably poisoned in her own alibi.
