WEEK 6 - Trial

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (6)

saturday TRIAL DAY ONE

(29) survivors

At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort.

The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up.

The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body.

To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it.

Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

8PM — Had dinner. Was pretty lackluster, so maybe I'll start cooking my own dinners too? Christ. You get real tired of the processed space food thing.

9PM — After dinner drinks in the lounge, since what else are you going to do? You know who goes back to their room at 9? Old people. So. Drinks it was. I make a mean lemon drop, if you're into that kinda thing. Also a Hyperion Highballer, but that one is a trade secret. I'm actually not kidding on that one.

10PM — Went back to my room. Working on an app for the datapads. It's gonna be great. Think a chat app but with pictures of yourself. I think I'll call it SnapChat.
[ don't tell him ] Cursed at it a lot. You want to hear a rant? Ask me about mutexes. (Don't ask me about mutexes.)

11PM — Yeah, I was having a good time on my own, working on SnapChat, yadda yadda yadda, and guess who shows up to my boy? Course it's none other than Rhys, because, seriously, who do you think I'm going to open the door for on freakin Thursday night. Turns out, that was a bad move, because someone went batshit crazy because of some bad dreams. Boo fucking hoo Rhys. He wanted to steal my mask for some goddamn reason, and you know, the real kicker here, he actually managed to do it because he stabbed me.

So, Rhys? You've got until the end of this trial to give me back the mask. I don't care how you manage that when we're all locked in here together, but work some magic. Otherwise? Actually, you know, nevermind. I'm not going to spoil the surprise.

11:30 PM — I dunno, he ran away like a bitch around this time. Considered pursuing him for a second, decided against it. On account of my fresh new stab wound. Stopped the bleeding, but I pretty much passed out after that. Not the first time I've been stabbed, but, you know, it still sucks every time. Just saying.

9AMish — Woke up around this time. Felt like shit. I never sleep in this late. Still took a shower and--

9:30AM — Headed to the gym because, I don't know, I'm an idiot? Thought I could at least do some light weight-lifting. Something. Shut up.

9:45AM — Yeah that one went about as well as you'd expect, so opened that right back up and headed off to the med bay to go actually patch myself up.

10AM — Showed up just in time for some asshole to throw a goddamn corpse party.

[ he's not going to bother confirming this but you know, there's definitely the sound of some dry heaving in the corner over here. ]

I can't confirm anything else, but when I pulled Fumi out of the turret's firing line, I crash right into Jack, and he was definitely injured. I can confirm that much.

8 PM: The medical bay. Nothing was amiss, for the record.
10 PM: A restless night's sleep, but sleep nonetheless. I remained in my own room.
6 AM: A return to the medical bay, however I completed a supply check only toward the end of my visit. A syringe had gone missing by then, however I had another affair to attend to.
8 AM: I prepared tea and breakfast for Harold, then managed the subsequent cleaning.
9:30 AM: Reading in the records room until the body alerts aired, ran into Dorian and was assigned to tend to Clover after she was found.

Thursday 11pm - Friday 2am: I tried to sleep. It's getting harder to. I don't think I'm alone in this, but I still tried.

2am - 3am: I failed, however. I wasn't going to add hunger pains to the sleep depravation, so I visited the cafeteria for a snack. Dave suggested these weird.. pockets of hot meat and cheese - Hot Pockets? They were alright, burning on the outside, cold on the inside.. I'll cook them more next time.. ugh.

3am - 5am: Return to room to sleep, unable to sleep much longer. I think I fell asleep at some point, if the drool on my pillow was any indication.

5am - 6am: I... visited Hancock. After last week, almost losing him, he was the only one I could trust to go to. I didn't want to be alone, not when I woke up feeling as if my world was collapsing. He helped calm me down and for that, I'm thankful.

6am - 7am: I visited the chapel for the first time. Call it divine intervention, but I tried to pray. When we have nothing else, faith can get us through anything.

7am - 9:50am: I decided to resume work on the Paris painting in the hallway. I was tending mostly to shadowing and the details of the painting. Everyone was beginning to stir and start their investigation, so I decided to wash my brushes in the cafeteria and head to the gardens.

9:50 - 10:05am: Met with Rhys and Fiona in the garden. Not too much of anything going on.

8-9 PM: Continued to study the hindered features of the Demon Summoning App. Overriding the handicap unsuccessful so far.
9 PM: Dragged by Harold for some form of feminine bonding, purported to be of some great importance.
10 PM-8 AM: Probably should have slept.
8 AM-10 AM: Breakfast cube investigation. Had some tea.
10 AM: Went to check on the medbay because something ALWAYS happens to it. Heard Hancock yelling when I got closer. You know the rest.

Confirming, I was with Fumi from 9 until morning, and then we met up again at the Medbay.
