WEEK FOUR

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (4)

monday - thursday

(33) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

Monday, post-kitchen and pre-handcuff

[It takes some coaxing to get him back out of his room after discovering Todd-soup cooking in the kitchen, but it's only because of overthinking on Roxy's suggestion in the pod room that he bothers. That's how he finds himself walking down to the dry storage room. Anybody's free to notice him walking down there with what looks like pencils and a lot of paper.

It's once he gets down to the bottom deck that it becomes clear he has a goal in mind. Anyone in the dry storage will find him in the back corner scaling shelves to try and pop open a vent. Sorry of things fall from the shelves toward you! But seriously, what is he doing? Feel free to ask.]

Tuesday-onward, with Grell

[All things considered, being handcuffed to someone like Grell isn’t the worst thing possible. She was polite enough and definitely sharp enough for him to behave for the most part and after the initial awkwardness and short bickering that came with the discussion of arrangements (Luke’s still not happy about sleeping on the floor all week, thank you very much) they agree to explore the new territories of the ship.

That’s how they wind up in the art storage room and they don’t get too far before Luke bumps into a sculpture and pauses just long enough before he starts cracking up, almost missing Grell’s comment. Anyone who gets close enough should be able to overhear what the hell is so funny and the other running commentary being provided as they examine the room.]

{ Well, Arumat had routines to get in over at the gym, so after a bit of a detour much earlier, seeing someone go into the dry storage does make him curious. Although, only enough to bother when he notices it's someone he doesn't mind speaking to.

So, he follows with the intent to speak to him, but he has to step to the side a bit to avoid the things falling out. }

...And the reason why you're doing this is because...?

{ No. Really, he's curious. Enlighten him. }
chiseler: (ain't it beautiful? so unusual)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-28 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hello space-elf. Luke winds up grinning as he looks down from his place on the shelf. He's precariously balanced on a couple of things to get a boost in height and let's just hope the shelves don't fall over...]

Because Roxy brought up a good idea and I have nothing else to do. Can't I pretend to be a useful member of society? [Read as: "I'm probably vaguely traumatized and this is a lot better than hiding in my room until the robots drag me out."]
thanatosincarnate: (> Distance)

[personal profile] thanatosincarnate 2016-06-29 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
{ You know Luke if you just asked him, he could hold you up by his own hands. Okay, no that was ridiculous. }

Right now what you're doing doesn't seem to be 'pretending' at doing something useful. I assume it's for a good reason.

{ ... }

What else convinced you to follow up on her idea? Besides not having anything else to.

chiseler: (gonna seize the day)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-29 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
[And then he'd parkour into the vents and never come back probably. But he shrugs.]

Most everything I do is for a good reason. [Even if maybe it's a wrong one, but he's convinced himself he has good reasoning most of the time. At least he doesn't have to try and sugarcoat what he wants to say around Arumat.] Something's using the vents to get around the ship. I'd rather know all of our options before we're sneaked up on.
thanatosincarnate: (> D E A T H H I M S E L F)

[personal profile] thanatosincarnate 2016-06-29 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
{ Luke no. }

Thought so.

{ Sugarcoating is something Arumat doesn't engage in at all -- well, he tried like one time and it failed. Naturally, he appreciates it when someone doesn't do so to him.

At Luke's explanation, he'll nod. }

Some kind of creature that AL-2955 knows about. Even if that AI acts oblivious -- she is "all-seeing".

Either way, it's best not to go it alone. If you see anything in there, pull out and I'll be able to kill it in one blow.

{ He does kinda carry around his scythe now almost everywhere he goes. }
chiseler: (ask a reason and no reply)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-29 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Look someday Luke will tell Arumat about his "kids" and he'll know why Luke sometimes sugarcoats things. Still, Arumat's a grown man (and older than he is.) So this should be fine.]

A creature or a person. I'm not sure yet. [Judging by what they found in the kitchen though he's leaning more toward monster, yeah.] ...Alice said she didn't know the cafeteria doors were blocked off. Seems a little weird for an all-seeing AI. [He looks back up at the vent and then back at the scythe curiously...and also a little warily. (His history with scythes is a little...eh.)] How's it work?

monsieurchatastrophe: (should I?)

monday

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-06-28 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[adrien is one of a handful of people who might have an idea what luke is doing, which is why when he peers inside the dry storage and sees Luke he's... no, he's still confused]

Are you trying to hide out in the vents?

[is luke playing hide and seek. is this how he deals with todd soup trauma. is adrien now both a vegetarian and glad he didnt bother going to the cafeteria this morning.]
chiseler: (another clever word)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-28 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's probably the appropriate response, yes. Luke's just about ready to jump straight up and latch onto the vent to crawl in when Adrien shows up and he shrugs, leaning forward to balance on some shelves instead and tuck a pencil behind his ear.]

Close. We should maybe make sure that nothing else is hiding out in the vents. [Do...do we tell the small child about the kitchen vents? Decisions, decisions.] Roxy brought up a good point that Alice has a map of the ventilation system to give to anybody who goes after a vulnerable, but it can't hurt to make our own map, too.
monsieurchatastrophe: (and so I'll read a book)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-06-28 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[listen... dave will absolutely tell him even if you don't. be real. Adrien decides to walk in fully, squinting at the vents]

That's... really not a bad idea. [DON'T SOUND SO PLEASANTLY SURPRISED ADRIEN YOU DICK] How were you thinking of doing it? Just going in and drawing?
chiseler: (when the traffic's stuck)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-28 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[...yeah okay fair. AND THANKS ADRIEN...not all of his ideas are terrible, see?]

That was sort of the plan. I'm not a mapmaker or anything but I know enough about traveling and paths to figure out how to make a decent layout. [Not to mention. You know. Crawling around Daedalus's labyrinth kinda helped.] I'm just missing one thing and I think we're set.

[He gestures up to the vent's opening.] You know how we thought this was the only open vent on the ship? Not true.
monsieurchatastrophe: (start on the chores and sweep)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-06-29 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
What are you missing?

[he is genuinely curious and has No Idea. things he does have an idea on, though:]

More open vents... how did you guys find that out? [he has a feeling he knows, though]
chiseler: (nothing more to say)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-29 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Ball of yarn. [To answer the first question. It's hard to say if he's serious or if it's a cat joke. (It's probably both.) But his smirk soon disappears because that's a pretty tough question.]

Found one in the cafeteria that somebody used sometime after the trial. Leads from the kitchen to the arrival room.

[ Adam is content to just watch this happen from the door without attempting to help, but then things start falling and he's pretty sure he should catch them instead of just watching them go down. Since he's now forced to enter, he's going to chide Luke for it. ]

Hey, come on. This might be all we have.
chiseler: (what's worth forgiving?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-29 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh well that sounds familiar. He's sort of used to that from people and he looks down, grinning slightly when he realizes who it is.]

You don't think there's another storage room around here somewhere? We keep finding new rooms every week. [And there goes a can of spam falling from a shelf, whoops.]
antietam: (pic#10376465)

[personal profile] antietam 2016-06-29 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really want to take our chances up here in space. [ Will Adam catch the spam? Yes, once he barely manages to avoid it hitting his head. His arms are now full so he has to work on organizing it into the lower shelves. ]

I think this counts as attempted murder.
chiseler: (a mob jumps to its feet)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-29 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry, if you die I'll make the body easier to find. [It's the most dry tone possible and despite the fact he's still making terrible, terrible jokes, he's pretty bothered by...everything. He's even more conscious of what he's doing on the shelves as he pries the vent open so nothing else tumbles off.]

Anyway, you'll thank me for this once it's done.
antietam: (pic#10376473)

[personal profile] antietam 2016-06-29 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Once things stop falling, Adam leans back and watches him open the vent. That has been concerning, but he's not sure what Luke's going to do about it. ]

Are you sealing it off? The art room has some tools.
chiseler: (another clever word)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-06-29 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's enough to get his attention at least.]

Yeah? What kind of tools are you thinking? I wanted to map the system out first but sealing them off isn't a bad idea.

Why are you going in there?

okay its more like yuno is rummaging through the map she's concocted in her head. ]

Sure about that? I'm not the one who was already in the vents. [Just a point.] What's so suspicious about wanting to know where people can go around this ship?
