monday - thursday (33) survivors It had been merely a week since the last trial, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. I'm familiar with the concept. [...intimately] It's just... I don't know. I hope it won't come to that. There's enough people involved right now without adding hostages.

[chiseler]

I'm not saying I want it to come to that either. [This...time...] But if our numbers dwindle down far enough...

[monsieurchatastrophe]

...I'm still hoping our numbers are done dwindling. We didn't have a trial last week. There's got to be hope for everyone left.

We were also handcuffed to each other last week. What if something like that is the answer to this?

[monsieurchatastrophe]

...You think we should handcuff ourselves to one another all the time?

Maybe not that far, but a buddy system could maybe work. A more improved buddy system. [Because that really didn't work out for Allen and Lavi, but maybe it would have if Machias wasn't wandering around by himself.]

[monsieurchatastrophe]

That's... not a bad idea.

[adrien he's had like 3 good ones so far let him live and stop being surprised each time.]

But there's an odd number of people on board right now. Someone would have to go buddy-less.

[chiseler]

[SIGHS. SIGHS LOUDLY.]

I've been known to have good ideas. If we have an odd number, we just group together three people. What's wrong with that? I traveled in a group of three for months before and it worked out fine. [You know. Until one of them died.]

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[lifts his hands up in surrender]

Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. [he absolutely did.] I think the only problem will be convincing people, won't it? Some of them reacted really badly to hanging out with anyone last week. I hope the lack of handcuff will make them more likely to listen.

[chiseler]

Giving people a little freedom will probably help with the cooperation, especially if you spin it to be a positive thing and for their safety. Plus I think that might have been more that we didn't really get to choose who we were stuck with.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

Fair enough. By now, everyone probably has someone they don't mind hanging out with all the time, and it's not like people wouldn't be able to switch or anything so long as everyone keeps track of their buddy. [he's smiling] If everyone goes along with it, this could really work.

[unless people decide to murder in pairs but he's definitely not thinking of that]

[chiseler]

[To be fair, Luke is absolutely thinking of how fucked they'd all be if somebody went accomplice route but he's being a good adult and not planting the seeds of doubt. And anyway, this ship's made of enough hero-types that maybe it wouldn't be a big deal after all.]

It's worth bringing up to everybody we can. We'd have to work fast to make sure people listened before acting based on a motive, but...our numbers are smaller now. It might not be too hard to do.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

We could write about it on the whiteboard first, to get the word going.

Iiii might leave that up to you. The whiteboard's too busy for me. [And also full of dicks so he'd probably get nothing done.]

That's what the dry eraser's for. Don't tell me you're afraid of Machias?

[probably not a valid interpretation, but it's funny enough that he is willing to ask]

[chiseler]

I am not afraid of Machias. [He looks a little amused by that idea though, as if Machias could actually be threatening. But he actually looks a little tripped up, scratching the back of his neck and deciding not to make eye contact.] I just think it'd be faster if you did it, that's all.

[Adrien does he really have to explain himself....]

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[it looks like he will, because Adrien is literally tilting his head in confusion] Why? Wouldn't it be faster if we both did it?

[what he trusts luke so shouldn't everyone!!!]

[What a good cat, but Luke's still pretty tempted to just sort of drag a hand over his own face.]

You'd think so, wouldn't you. [And a sigh.] Remember what I told you about painting? Writing takes too long, so I avoid it when I want to get something out fast. And you can't exactly draw a buddy system, can you? [It would really just be easier to say "Demigods are saddled with ADHD and dyslexia on top of constantly being chased by monsters" but lbr, Luke's not good at making things easy on anybody.]

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[adrien seems to take it in stride, just giving a soft "oh" in thought.]

Technically you could, but that'd leave it to be up to interpretation. And people's interpretations here can be... kinda off. [what a nice way to put "dicks. dicks everywhere". adrien shrugs] Alright, I'll make the announcement on the board. I'll just leave a note to ask you about it if they're confused.

[chiseler]

[Flatly:] I'm not drawing something that can be interpreted as a circlejerk. [Just throwing that out there. That's it, that's the nice way.] But I think that's for the best. Thanks, man.

[...and because he can't help it.] Alice is right. You are a good cat.

What's a circle... no, on second thought, I don't want to know. [self preservation for both of them tbh. and then he's just. pouting]

Ha, ha. Why is everyone treating me like the ship's house pet?

[chiseler]

[THANKS FOR THAT, he'd really rather not have...to...explain...#keepadrienpure etc etc. He shrugs and he's finally sauntering away from the cases to resume his place in his observation chair.]

Probably because you're young and impressionable. Or the fact you have an actual cat suit. Take your pick, I've got my own reasons.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

"Impressionable"? [does he actually sound legitimately offended at that? by god. he does. he's walking towards what he knows is Marinette's case without looking at Luke because he's trying not to let it show that assessment bothers him] So what are your reasons, if they're not from that list?

[chiseler]

[He's allowing his eyes to follow because he wants to know where he's going and see what other information he can pick up. He's not at all sorry about that assessment either, but he folds his arms over his chest and leans back in his chair.]

You remind me of somebody I knew back home. That same kind of belief that people will be good at the end of the day? It's exactly the same. [Annabeth and Adrien both have a tendency to want to trust people and believe in people. Even with everything Luke did at the end, it was Annabeth who still believed and who could still reach him. With her dagger here, he's thinking about a lot of things.] Pretty sure that kind of thing could be a game-changer.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[the case he stops in front of simply contains a sketchbook, if a rather girly one. He turns to look at Luke with a perplexed expression soon enough, though]

A "game-changer"... I hope so. [he doesn't sound so sure himself, because when he thinks of someone like that, he thinks of ... well, not himself.] Were you and that person close? You sound like you had a high opinion of them.

[what with considering that attitude a game changer etc]
