chiseler: (like a bomb threat)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Iiii might leave that up to you. The whiteboard's too busy for me. [And also full of dicks so he'd probably get nothing done.]
monsieurchatastrophe: (when will my life begin?)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what the dry eraser's for. Don't tell me you're afraid of Machias?

[probably not a valid interpretation, but it's funny enough that he is willing to ask]
chiseler: (we'll be fine after all?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I am not afraid of Machias. [He looks a little amused by that idea though, as if Machias could actually be threatening. But he actually looks a little tripped up, scratching the back of his neck and deciding not to make eye contact.] I just think it'd be faster if you did it, that's all.

[Adrien does he really have to explain himself....]
monsieurchatastrophe: (should I?)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[it looks like he will, because Adrien is literally tilting his head in confusion] Why? Wouldn't it be faster if we both did it?

[what he trusts luke so shouldn't everyone!!!]
chiseler: (say it again)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[What a good cat, but Luke's still pretty tempted to just sort of drag a hand over his own face.]

You'd think so, wouldn't you. [And a sigh.] Remember what I told you about painting? Writing takes too long, so I avoid it when I want to get something out fast. And you can't exactly draw a buddy system, can you? [It would really just be easier to say "Demigods are saddled with ADHD and dyslexia on top of constantly being chased by monsters" but lbr, Luke's not good at making things easy on anybody.]
monsieurchatastrophe: (I'm sure there's room somewhere)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[adrien seems to take it in stride, just giving a soft "oh" in thought.]

Technically you could, but that'd leave it to be up to interpretation. And people's interpretations here can be... kinda off. [what a nice way to put "dicks. dicks everywhere". adrien shrugs] Alright, I'll make the announcement on the board. I'll just leave a note to ask you about it if they're confused.

chiseler: (I promise I'll behave)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Flatly:] I'm not drawing something that can be interpreted as a circlejerk. [Just throwing that out there. That's it, that's the nice way.] But I think that's for the best. Thanks, man.

[...and because he can't help it.] Alice is right. You are a good cat.
monsieurchatastrophe: (it's like 7:15)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
What's a circle... no, on second thought, I don't want to know. [self preservation for both of them tbh. and then he's just. pouting]

Ha, ha. Why is everyone treating me like the ship's house pet?
chiseler: (say it again)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[THANKS FOR THAT, he'd really rather not have...to...explain...#keepadrienpure etc etc. He shrugs and he's finally sauntering away from the cases to resume his place in his observation chair.]

Probably because you're young and impressionable. Or the fact you have an actual cat suit. Take your pick, I've got my own reasons.
monsieurchatastrophe: ('til the floor's all clean)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Impressionable"? [does he actually sound legitimately offended at that? by god. he does. he's walking towards what he knows is Marinette's case without looking at Luke because he's trying not to let it show that assessment bothers him] So what are your reasons, if they're not from that list?
chiseler: (and as you step back into line)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's allowing his eyes to follow because he wants to know where he's going and see what other information he can pick up. He's not at all sorry about that assessment either, but he folds his arms over his chest and leans back in his chair.]

You remind me of somebody I knew back home. That same kind of belief that people will be good at the end of the day? It's exactly the same. [Annabeth and Adrien both have a tendency to want to trust people and believe in people. Even with everything Luke did at the end, it was Annabeth who still believed and who could still reach him. With her dagger here, he's thinking about a lot of things.] Pretty sure that kind of thing could be a game-changer.
monsieurchatastrophe: (should I?)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[the case he stops in front of simply contains a sketchbook, if a rather girly one. He turns to look at Luke with a perplexed expression soon enough, though]

A "game-changer"... I hope so. [he doesn't sound so sure himself, because when he thinks of someone like that, he thinks of ... well, not himself.] Were you and that person close? You sound like you had a high opinion of them.

[what with considering that attitude a game changer etc]
chiseler: (nothing more to say)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Knowing what he knows about Adrien, it's not hard to fathom a guess who the book belongs to. He doesn't say anything about it, but he does smirk. Be more obvious, catboy. Of course the question distracts him and he rolls his eyes to the ceiling.]

I practically raised her. [There's a slightly bitter smile as he thinks back on it.] She ran away even younger than I did, and even younger than a friend did. When we found her she was only seven. She's a little older than you and Marinette now. ...neither of us had really great families, so I wanted to be better for her because it's what she deserved. Maybe I'm biased, but I think she turned out to be pretty okay.
monsieurchatastrophe: (I'm sure there's room somewhere)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure she did. [completely earnest!!!] But that's a lot of responsibility to take on when you were a teenager. Didn't your camp have counselors or anything like that?

[...the superhero's one to talk when it comes to teen responsibilities but he just wants to hear more Deets on your definitely not a cult camp]
chiseler: (I won't say I'm sorry)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I was one of the counselors. I was head counselor of cabin eleven until I left. [It happens when you're the oldest of your dad's kids at the camp.] And anyway, we were on our own for a few months before we even knew about the camp. Somebody else had to come find us to take us there. Until then, it was kind of up to me to make sure those two survived.

[More like it was Luke putting unnecessary pressure on himself, but that's what you do as a makeshift dad.] Then again, Annabeth's always been a little smarter than me. That probably helped. She's always been independent, too, but she was still one of the youngest at Camp. It was still my job to look after her.
monsieurchatastrophe: "um zia you used the reprise and skipped lyrics" fight me (that's when my life begins)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
So none of you knew about the camp when you ran away. [he thinks they were lucky it existed in the first place tbh, but then again. it might still be a cult!!!!]

Still, smart or not, that's impressive, taking care of them like that... I've never even babysat a kid, never mind making sure they survive without anything.
chiseler: (sweltered and sandwiched in the middle)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. [And his eyes close, because this conversation is way easier if he can't see anything.] When all three of us ran away, we didn't even know the others existed. Thalia and I kinda wound up in the same cave on accident. [And by "on accident" he means a mythical glowing goat led Thalia to him.] Annabeth was found a couple of years later also on accident. I don't think we would have known about Camp if Grover hadn't found us and started leading us back to where we needed to go. Until then...[An awkward shrug.]

...I made a promise to both of them that we'd be a family. I was the oldest, so I had to take care of them. [There's a hint of a grin.] I don't know if I'd recommend doing it that way though.
monsieurchatastrophe: (I'll paint the walls some more)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-07 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
[he listens intently the whole time, but the comment about it not being reccommended just makes him huff out a laugh]

You don't have to warn me against running away without a plan. Even if I wanted to, I'd get caught before I made it more than a few blocks from my house. [...that sounds like he speaks from experience and he is quick to change the subject back to Luke's wacky camp adventures, though a bit shyly:] Annabeth and Talia....Do you think once we get out of this, I could meet them?

[he's a small teen who wants to meet his friend's friends ok]
chiseler: (nothing more to say)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-07 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Adrien…??? He won't ask. He won't even think about asking, but damn, why'd you have to ask the hard question? There's a very distinct little pause, if only because he doesn't know how to actually answer.

On the bright side, at least Thalia's alive now. She'd probably like Adrien, and Annabeth of course tends to eventually get along with everyone. But…there's one little problem he hasn't made clear to anyone, and he's definitely not explaining it now. So he grins.]

Sure, kid. You'd probably fit right in with them. Thalia can be a little harsh but she's pretty okay. [Don't sound so fond of her, you stupid douche.] Someday I'll figure out a way to introduce you.
monsieurchatastrophe: (now that I'm older mother might just)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-07 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
[he is missing out, the story is hilarious. Adrien's face literally lights up at Luke agreeing, like he's been told there's three christmases instead of "sure you can meet my friends someday maybe"]

Great! I'll look forward to it. [:D :D :D] Maybe you guys could meet Nino, too. He's my best friend back home.
chiseler: (ain't it beautiful? so unusual)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-07 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Ugh stop being endearing.]

Oh yeah? What's he like? [Anything to get off of the subject of meeting his friends back home :')]
monsieurchatastrophe: "um zia you used the reprise and skipped lyrics" fight me (that's when my life begins)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-07 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
[he can't it's in his genes it's how he makes friends. speaking of friends, he gets excited talking about his because!! his non-dave bro!!!]

Nino's great. He's the first real friend I made when I finally went to school this year. [here's adrien not... counting... his childhood friend because. @ chloe stop being yourself] He's fun and nice and... he even stood up to my father for me once. [and it ended horribly but let's not. mention that.] He's really cool. Oh, and he's a DJ!

[adrien you sound like you're five, stop]
chiseler: (another clever word)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-07 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
[This dumb child is so excited about his friends, this is actually awful. It's awful! He actually appears to be a little amused the longer Adrien rambles and he nods along, trying to figure out how a teenager can be a a DJ and maybe wondering how and why this person stood up to Adrien's dad before he realizes Adrien's stopped talking.]

Seems like you've got somebody pretty cool waiting for you back home. [A pause.] Does Marinette know him, too? You guys are from the same world aren't you? [Or they're just...weirdly close for reasons he doesn't quite get.]
monsieurchatastrophe: (I'm completely free)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-07 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, we're all in the same class in school. [a beat and then he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly] ... And... Marinette and I are superhero partners.

[wwweeelp]
chiseler: (breaking in a sweat)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-07 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
[If he's surprised that Adrien's admitting it, he says nothing.]

Oh yeah? Never would have guessed. [It's a pretty dry statement. Of course they're partners.] Which means...what, that you two look out for each other no matter what? [Tell him how you really feel, dude. It'll mostly just be funny.
