WEEK 8
| the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (8) |
monday - thursday (23) survivors ![]() Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods. (OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.) taken list profiles private conversations setting rulebook murder proposals ENTER COMMAND_ |

This is probably one of the most normal things I've ever seen anyone do on this ship. [There's a slight grin that's probably a "thank you" for the offer even if he's not acting on it yet.] You could probably make a lot of people happy with these. Better than space cubes, right?

That's what I'm hoping for. It's a little tiring getting up the morning after... last night and only having the motive announcement to count on, right? So something like this must be nice. [ she'd like it, at least. it's not the entire reason, but it's a good enough reason. ] I can't promise it every Monday, but I can try to make enough to last through out the week, at least. Home made is better than the packaged stuff!

I don't think anyone's expecting it every Monday. [At least the amount of people she'd have to share with would go down each week...] But I know at least I'd be okay with that. [There's a short grin as his eyes drop down to the sweets again.] Can't remember the last time I had homemade anything anyway even before the ship. I'm gonna guess I'm not the only one.

It's been a while for me, too. I was ... [ well. ] I was going to make some spaghetti for dinner tomorrow night. [ it's... probably cookies for dinner tonight, tbh. look at this mess. ] I can bring you some.
[ he's right across from her, anyway. it's not like it's hard. ] If you're waiting for permission to take what you want, you don't need to. It's there to be eaten, Luke.
no subject
Do you really think I'm the kind of guy to wait for permission with this kind of thing? […but he's taking a cupcake only after she says so. Some things change, after all.]
no subject
And you waited until I said anything, so I guess you are. Or maybe you've become that kind of person... [ a frown makes it's way into her expression here. ] It does change you. This place.

luke's still standing across from her licking frosting off his fingers, though, looking more like a big kid than a twenty three year old adult. it's hard to imagine luke has been anything but this all his life. still... still, hesitance colored his actions. ]
You're not the same person you were when we talked in the chapel for the first time. I'm not, either. [ it isn't a gentle admission, but a firm one. her tone is honest. there's a quality to her voice that gives it a deeper, mature air, but whether it's real or imagined is up to him. ] Eventually, everyone changes. Some things age us faster, is all.
[ ... but as quickly as yuno's voice drops, it returns to it's normal pitch, and she beams while holding up a plate of bear shaped macarons. ] So eat up while you still feel young, grandpa!

Surprised you remember that. That was a while ago now. [But...no. Those aren't words a fifteen year old girl should be saying and he looks briefly startled as he allows that to settle in his head. He's staring at her briefly and he's not stupid. He knows there are reasons for these words even if he can't quite pinpoint when, precisely, Yuno changed. Maybe it doesn't matter. He slowly nods in agreement, but he doesn't verbalize it. Verbalizing it makes it a reality, after all. So instead he snorts, taking another fingerful of frosting while eyeing the macarons, too.]
I'm not that old, you know. [This is mumbled around his finger and he stops again.] I'm not even that much older than you. But do me a favor? Don't let too much age you around here. Not sure it's worth it. [Ah yes easier said than done.]

still, it takes a moment for her to respond as she considers it. she could accept, but let it be a lie. she could decline, and let it be the truth. the first is prettier, cleaner, she knows: luke might not believe her, but it's an easier pill to swallow. the latter gives her chills, but she gets the inkling he's used to teenagers lying. she lets out a thoughtful hum. ]
I can't... make a promise that isn't in my control. Before you even noticed it, you'd changed. It's the same for me. It always has been. [ tends to happen when your canon is LITERALLY ALREADY A MURDERGAME, goddamn it ] I'm not sure why it'd be a concern of your's... hmmm. Maybe you like kids, actually?
no subject
That's the thing I hate the most about this place. The lack of control. [His life had been chaotic in the end and out of his control, and despite the fact it was mostly his own fault, he's aware enough that the only reason Olympus was saved was he was able to break someone else's control.] Guess I should say it's what I hate in general. Kind of a bummer we can't control the change ourselves all the time.
[He shrugs, finally taking a bite of the cupcake to mull over that.] I worked as a counselor at a camp for five years of my life, what makes you think I like kids? [Even as he says it, there's something in his expression that's a dead giveaway. Kids are always his weak point.]
no subject
You told me not to let this age me too much! You must want me to enjoy my youth, right? [ she does wonder if there's a nugget of truth in that, though. it's left unsaid, and yuno places a hand over her mouth to hide the laughter. it's a very poor attempt. ]
Don't worry. I'm sure that we can seize control again, though I can't exactly control how quickly I grow up.
no subject
I'm just saying as somebody who's seen what happens to kids who don't get to be a kid, enjoying your youth is way better. [He gives her another considering look.] Besides, I think you've already captured a certain kind of maturity some kids your age don't have. You're already letting your control slip.

also he's eating her cupcakes. he can't be that bad. ]
Well, Mom and Dad have been overseas for business for around two years. I've gotten used to taking care of things on my own, so maybe it just shows.
