sunday TRIAL DAY TWO (24) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

Is there a reason Adrien didn't wear his costume?

I'd have been faster, but it would've mucked up the results.

I wouldn't have been in costume past 4am, and that's the time I'm unaccounted for.

You can say you wouldn't have, couldn't have all you want. But I should remind you, you aren't giving us any reason to believe you.

[Harsh, but.]

If there's a reason you wouldn't have been in costume past 4am, we need to know. We can't afford to miss any important information.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[he looks properly chastised and sighs]

Everyone's probably guessed it by now, but... the suits are what give us the powers. Like everyone else, our powers are limited, so we can only use them once a day. Marinette saw me change back, and there's no way I would have been able to change again in the next three hours.

[antagonize]

So you go all by the power of Grayskull on us once, and that's it for the day. Fair enough.

[It sounds like he's laying off now, except—]

But I guess that means you could be an alien. Think we should let Jack shoot you in the head to find out?

[HE'S JOKING. It's an awful joke, but. Joking.]

[monsieurchatastrophe]

... Pretty much.

[they do absolutely have to yell so... and listen he has a bad sense of humor but that line of questioning is--]

Don't joke about that. Jack had no idea Rhys was an alien, he's just a murderer. And it didn't even stop the alien for long. [wow calm down adrien its almost like... murder isn't funny to you...]

Do you mind elaborating?

Sure? But it's simple: I wasn't in costume after four, so there's no point testing how fast I would've been in it.

[adrien wanna be more open about this or. no? no. okay]

I'm sure you weren't. But unless there's an explanation we can rely on, we can't afford to go on your say so. I don't mean to be harsh, but we cannot put off difficult questions until the last moment as we did last week, so I'll say it this way.

If you're being controlled by one of those things, is there any proof it didn't use the costume without your knowledge?

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[he flinches at that reprimand and that question, because that line of questioning has been on his mind... but.]

...We can only use them once a day here. There's no time limit [well. unless he uses cataclysm but that part isn unnecessary] but that's why I'd spend whole trials in my suit. If I change back, I better be sure I won't need it again.

[tevinteriscoming]

Thank you. [Much more gently, since he knows it's a pretty cruel line of questioning.] That's useful to know. It's correct that most of your abilities can only be accessed while you're in the suit, yes? That you were either with Marinette or unable to use the suit for the duration of the time at issue is quite the relief, I must admit.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

That's right. I'm pretty athletic myself, but nothing compared to when I'm Chat. [he smiles a bit at Dorian because it's nice to know people only suspect him thanks to aliens ... wow so different from all of paris that one time] Yeah. I'm glad we decided to stick together.

[tevinteriscoming]

As am I. [One of these two children being one of the aliens is the worst imaginable outcome. But no, he definitely doesn't think a non-possessed Adrien committed this crime.]

Have either of you tested how long it takes after a change, to be able to do it again? Or which time it is that matters - when you change, or when you change back?

[antagonize]

No idea. Maybe he was feeling modest and didn't want his girlfriend to see his butt in that leather get up?

[Yeah, no. Why the heck didn't Adrien wear his costume?]

Oh, there's a possibility. It's a little late to be shy about that, though.

Don't be stupid. [HE ALWAYS WANTS HER TO SEE HIS BUTT IN LEATHER i mean]

[hesitating a little, but she remember Jason telling her off yesterday] Thanks to being here, our powers are limited. We can't just use them whenever we want.

[antagonize]

Limited... how? We don't know how your powers usually operate.

[He won't tell her off today. Maybe. He just doesn't want to doubt Adrien, okay.]

[Adrien's already explaining it once a day, but she.... looks in her shirt, and then takes a deep breath]

Our powers come from our suit, and we can only use it once a day here. Thursday night, he was in costume until we went back to my room, so there's no way he could have used it again.

[antagonize]

You saw him change out of costume, right? He wouldn't have been able to change back within the time frame we're looking for, then, if it's a once per day type of deal.

[The furry is saved???]

Congrats. I guess this means your boyfriend's in the clear. Well — as long as he doesn't have an alien demon co-piloting his body, that is.

Exactly. And even if it weren't for our powers being limited, we can't just turn them off and on whenever we want. That's why we try to stay in costume as long as possible.

[GOOD. But she grimaces]

That's impossible. He's my partner, I would know if he's an alien.

Not so sure about that. Jack didn't know Rhys was an alien, and I am pretty sure they were banging.

Jack is too full of himself to notice anything about anyone else, and they weren't getting along very well in the first place. [she's just assuming from the... stabbing and all]

Besides, Chat Noir has been taken over by evil before. I can recognize the signs by now.
