RETIREMENT
Seconds later, a holographic screen is cast over the table. Alita is seen suspended in the air, sky as blue as some might remember from their life before ending up on The Pygmalion. She isn't exactly flying, but rather standing in the sky, confused and disoriented. She peers up at something, and the 'camera' pans towards it: the sun, green like money. She runs towards it, slowly rising up as if climbing a staircase. Once she reaches it, though, she outstretches a hand towards it, then drops it immediately, grasping her head in anguish. From her back comes something.. feathery. A black wing. It slowly peeks out, writhing until it extends to around seven feet, blood dripping from the wound it came from. Then another comes on the other side. Then another under it. It keeps happening until there are six wings, and Alita is gasping for air out of pain.
The sky darkens to a light red, and a troupe of specks come from behind a cloud. As they come closer, the onlookers will notice they are angels of androgynous form wearing armor and wielding weapons such as bows and swords. Alita, in her pain, attempts to fly away, but she isn't quick enough. The angels fly towards her at lightning speed, stabbing and piercing her in the wings and legs until her body is steeped in blood like a pulpy tea bag. Alita is no longer able to scream, only cry soundlessly.
Finally, from behind the cloud comes a final creature, covered completely in eyes. It approaches slowly, as if to make Alita suffer for her sins. All the sound in the video feed is silenced. When it reaches Alita, it stares down at her for a minute or so. Alita is unable to look at it in any eye. She mouths the words "please". Is she begging for salvation or for a mercy killing?
Either way, the angel only answers with a beam shot from one of its eyes, piercing in between Alita's eyes. Her head falls back, dead. Almost instantly, she begins to fall. She seems to fall for several minutes. Eventually, she reaches the ground — or rather, the floor. She lands on a cold looking surface, similar to the flooring of the ship. Her body disintegrating into twisted limbs, her legs curling in like an al dente noodle. a graceless fallen angel.
The hologram disappears. ]

[But he sounds kind of...fascinated...]
Demons, then? I wonder to what purpose. It reminds me of the illustrations in one of the older demonology texts, I can't recall the name just now. If only I had access to a decent library.

Re: RETIREMENT
[Shelley's eyes are really wide, because this was not at all what she expected. What the hell?!]

{ Watching all the way until the end. He has nothing to say, honestly -- he's just grateful the trial is over and they caught the culprit. }

[ Her hands immediately go up to shield her vision, looking away as tears begin to form in her eyes and bead down her cheeks. This was unlike anything she had ever seen before and she's definitely going to try and walk towards the walls to ignore what just happened, sobbing to herself. ]

THAT
HAPPENED
except. it's hard for Clover to be too phased by how fucked up that was when she has had to scrape gorier murder victims off her shoes and the actual corpse is, like, right there.
still fucked up though
probably more fucked up without being sure a lady wasn't just straight-up thrown on the table and tortured to death like RIGHT THERE though and she gently grips Light's arm.]
...It's a...video. But the body's still here...
[...and getting carried away by a robot, beep boop, no looting today it looks like. no four-leaf clover brooch for her :(
STILL FUCKED UP THOUGH]

[it's not a pretty sight, but yet not a surprising one. anything "angelic" or "heavenly" always spells trouble in her books.]

That was something.
Is it possible to approach Alita's body to find out if she still has a pulse? Or is that a big no-no?]
