saturday TRIAL DAY ONE (40) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. At 7PM, the trial will adjourn for the day. All players will be escorted by the robots into the cafeteria. From there, they're free to head into the lounge, the viewing deck, the chapel, or back to their rooms. All other areas of the ship have been locked off, and every player will be accompanied by a robot until they return to their room for the night. Any attempts to enter a locked off room or physically interfere with the trial or evidence outside of their room will cause the robot to raise a ship-wide alarm.

[ seeing as there isn't much left in the minimalist living space for her to investigate, minako will join adelina in the bathroom. it might not be a "clue", but it's certainly interesting. ]

No, there's nothing strange about it aside from the wide variety and the fact that someone managed to try using all of this in a single week.]

[ shit, bro. not even yukari and mitsuru combined have this much makeup... minako has never been one for more than some lipgloss and mascara herself, but she can't help but wonder how much someone can amass while still using it. apparently miss calabrese nu has, and that's mind-boggling.

[There doesn't seem to be anything odd about the sink or shower! There are probably a couple of small towels stained by make-up.]

I'm stumped. Where else do we have to look?

I looked inside the desk, but not underneath it... We could look there. I saw you looked under the bed, but did you look under her blankets or between the mattress and bedframe?

I didn't! It looked pretty tidy, so I didn't think about it... I'll go do that.

[ off to the bed! she's not about to give up, no siree. ]

[Doesn't look like there's anything out of place! Everything's been very neatly put where it belongs.]

[ once the bottom bunk is checked, she'll move up to the top one to do the same run-over. if nothing is there, she'll sit over the edge and let her legs dangle as she watches adelina. ]

[she goes to look at the woman's clothes, though, checking to see if anything is amiss with them.]

But nah, there's nothing off about them, or about the top bunk.]

[ just because she hasn't yet, she'll give the pillows on each bunk a few fluffs as well. they sure don't look lumpy, but you never know! ]

there certainly doesn't seem to be anything up with the beds, so minako will hop right off of them to look elsewhere. there doesn't seem like any other place to look, so why not retrace their steps and check out the doorway? ]

[If they check the doorway closely, they'll notice a minor scrape on the inside of the doorframe.]

Woah... Hey, check this out!

[ she runs her fingers over the scrape to make sure that it's not just a trick of her eyes or some kind of chipped paint, but everything is too chrome for the latter to make sense, and the clear change in texture proves the former to be false. it's definitely a physical mark. ]

[she looks over as well, checking how large the scrape is, trying to gauge if it's something that looks like it was made by a knife. she's also paying attention to where it's located on the inside of the doorframe - high or low?]

[The scrape's about three feet above the ground. It definitely isn't deep or straight enough to have been made by a knife - it's just a small but still visible scrape against the frame.]

[ minako is looking at that too. she leans down to get a closer look at it, thinking.

the victim had plenty of makeup; maybe it wouldn't be out of the question to say her nails were long, too. they'd have to check the body, and she makes a mental note about it. ]

...Maybe the struggle wasn't just in the daycare.

Perhaps they incapacitated her in this room, then carried her to the daycare and stabbed her there to throw people off... They could have staged the scene to look like there was a struggle, tipping over the merry go round and damaging the ballpit.

[she's thinking along the same line minako is. she pauses for a moment before raking her nails down the doorframe - not hard enough to break them or cause any damage to her fingers, but enough to see if she could make a similar scrape.]
