saturday TRIAL DAY ONE (40) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. At 7PM, the trial will adjourn for the day. All players will be escorted by the robots into the cafeteria. From there, they're free to head into the lounge, the viewing deck, the chapel, or back to their rooms. All other areas of the ship have been locked off, and every player will be accompanied by a robot until they return to their room for the night. Any attempts to enter a locked off room or physically interfere with the trial or evidence outside of their room will cause the robot to raise a ship-wide alarm.

The right area of the room has been sectioned off by a glass partition, which players can enter via a vertical sliding door. Calisto's body has been laid out on a sterile metal autopsy table. The body is covered with a plastic sheet, but the sheet can be removed. Other than the position and the sheet, the body has not been changed from how they were found.

A holographic screen above the body displays two color photos of the scene when the body discovery alarms rang at 9:10 AM. The photographs are close ups - they portray Calisto's body, but no more of the scene than is necessary to do so. Still, if you want to check her position, it makes it easy to do so.

[ As he examines the wound, Arumat will notice that there is indeed a stab wound near Callisto's heart, though it is still noticeably not right next to her heart. ]

{ He'll take a look at the stomach wound now. Where is the stomach wound located exactly -- in the middle, to the right, or the left? Just to see if it could have wound up hitting near (or exactly at) any other organs. }

[ The wound is located closer toward the center of Callisto's stomach: her gut is the affected area. ]

Body

[ Bull has seen a lot of wounds in his time - it gets to a point you can tell what's a short dagger, what's a sword wound (not even getting into the messes axes and hammers make) - so he's curious. Taking a look at the stab wounds - how deep, how big are they? Are they clean cuts? ]

[The stab wounds are fairly deep, about a couple inches or so, but they don't come out the other side. The cuts are clean, and the wounds are both relatively small - they definitely weren't made by a large blade.]

[Is there a way to compare the Yatagarasu's Key to the wounds?]

[He can take the knife out of the display case and stab or otherwise compare it to Calisto's wounds, sure!]

[Are there any more markings, or anything aside from the stab wounds?]

[There doesn't appear to be from what she can tell through her fingers.]

[Gingerly turns the body over.... Does she see anything?]

[Not with her clothes on, she won't.

How far are you willing to go for this, Marinette.]

[There's really no way that he's going to avoid at least getting a look at the body. There's a minor note of amusement at the additional stab wound that Bull provided, but Frankenstein remains curious. "Blood loss or shock" was it? Well, he's at least curious if the martial artist put up a fight.

With absolute zero compunctions about moving around a dead body, he's going to look for additional bruising and injuries on Calisto's body such as bumps on her head.]

[Doesn't look like there are any bumps on her head from what he can tell.]

[Nope? Alright. No head trauma.

Next order of business sure is to check for other bruising, but it's hard to examine a woman a suit. He'll set about removing the suit jacket, then rolling up her sleeves and examining her arms to see if there's any bruising there.

This is closest he's gotten to a woman in millennia and she's dead. Sounds fitting.]

actually no, machias still doesn't like this, but there's a few more things he'd like to check. he'll ask auntie al or some robot assistance for something to measure with, then compare the two stab wounds. is the one on the stomach located straight down from the chest, making a straight line, or does it deviate slightly?

additionally, he's going to check her heels too. how thin or thick are we looking here? are they intact or did parts of it chip off? ]

Calisto's wearing a pair of two-inch business heels. The heels look pretty thick and are intact.]

[she comes in after a while, curious about one thing. once she's near the body, she goes to check her hands, wanting to know if there's anything left behind by the killer. a thread from their clothing, or a strand of their hair trapped beneath her fingernails... anything noticeable, in case she had tried to fend them off with her hands.]

[If Jason were to examine the wound, would he be able to get anything else off it? Like for example: the speed, force and direction of the blow, if the killer thrust upward/downward when going in and out, and the movement of the knife inside the body.]

[He'll likely be able to tell that the blade was thrust straight in and out, as the wound is more or less clean.]

[After grabbing Kazuma's knives, Tsukuyo's going to go ahead and come along to compare them to the stab wounds!

First by just inspecting them, and then by going ahead and stabbing the body off to the side so she can compare the stab wounds.

This is all done pretty clinically, dead bodies don't feel anything...]
