WEEK 12

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (12)

monday - thursday

(13) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find that the ship is still in disarray; there is no robot prepared breakfast, nor has any of the damage been repaired. The ship is mostly cast in darkness, with the exception of a few rooms, though light may flicker in and out in some rooms. Without Alice, you are all on your own. The ominous pressure of the Queen Mother still looms, though you no longer feel Her presence.

[he might be able to practically feel the level of effort it takes for her to not spit out not all of us hated her, you fool.]

That's not the point - you don't need another reason for those things to want to rip your heart from your chest!

[yes, you can absolutely pretend you intuitively pulled out data. she doesn't understand why he wouldn't be willing to lie like that to save himself, especially when he carried something that (in her opinion) is precious.]

[ That actually gets Jack to smile, but it's quite a bit wider, more reckless and more unhinged. He shakes his head lightly. ]

Well, skag's out of the bag on that one, huh? But, no, I'll give 'em as many reasons as I need. Now, I don't do the whole self-sacrificing hero thing, so don't take it that way, but.

[ He pauses, and if anyone else is around, he'll look to them before looking back to Grell. ]

I mean, we wanna survive, gotta get 'em out in the open. So. If they rip out my heart? I'll at least be taking them down with me. I've been doing this shit from the very first week, so let me just be clear and say that even if I have to die to do it? Taking one of them out would be a pleasure, dollface.

[...she can't say that she doesn't hold a small amount of respect for that point of view. that if it won them the last battle of the war, there was a way to be proud of it. it's less a target, she realizes, than a dare.

come and get me.

she exhales hard and pushes a stray lock of hair over her shoulder. they all had their ways of wanting to push those things into the light. she threatened, Jack taunted, Luke bluffed. if it worked...]

Thanks for the clarification. Because for a moment there, if I didn't know better, I'd say you were offering yourself up for all our sakes. But now I know, that's too tragic for you. [anything that's too much of genuine concern has been removed. back to normal.] Do you think you can get the programs back before we get our next deceased?

[better to ask if he thinks he can do it alone before offering up what she held close.]

[ Jack smiles wryly as he crosses his arms, and it comes with a pretty casual shrug. ]

Yeah, good. Don't want to ruin my sweetass rep of being a selfish asshole.

[ Is this a joke, or is he actually self-aware enough to realize this... A mystery. But at her question, he scoffs, but it's at least not at her. ]

Think? Please. I've written friggin' control systems for ships like this in less time. --Which I guess doesn't mean anything to you, but. Yeah. Yeah, I can take care of it, no problem.
