WEEK 12

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (12)

monday - thursday

(13) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find that the ship is still in disarray; there is no robot prepared breakfast, nor has any of the damage been repaired. The ship is mostly cast in darkness, with the exception of a few rooms, though light may flicker in and out in some rooms. Without Alice, you are all on your own. The ominous pressure of the Queen Mother still looms, though you no longer feel Her presence.

[Tuesday morning, as most of the late sleepers begin to stir and everyone gathers for breakfast, Dorian has something to say. Grell or Yuno might have noticed him slip out to the chapel alone at some point late in the evening, for only about ten minutes.]

Last night, our friends on the other side managed to make contact. I don't think they'll be able to do it much more, what with the power limitations. But I spoke to the Bull, Shelley, Adelina, Machias and Allen for a brief moment.

They wanted to assure us, first and foremost, that the Nuwa and its passengers are in no danger. Apparently, the threat was intended to draw the souvlaki out of hiding. Obfuscations on obfuscations, as it always was with our dear friend Alice. They were apologetic for having caused us to worry, but Adelina wanted everyone to know that we'd done well, and minimized casualties. She and Shelley both send their regards.

I also have a few personal messages. I'm sure you don't want to hear me read them, so I've written them down.

[There's a small stack of neat sheets of paper, folded in two, with the names of the recipients written on the outside.]

[ He's been hoping to hear the Nuwa alright, but that the dead had been lying to them about that? It was a good plan and he can't fault them for it, but that sure was a lot of undue stress. He'll just give a long sigh. ]

They're okay. [ Right, back to business. He finds the letters with his name and takes them. ] So you managed to talk to a group of them? Over Furry Passing?
tevinteriscoming: (warm. 5)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-25 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. They're doing well. They seemed optimistic, in fact. [He smiles - it wasn't his intention to communicate anything along the lines that the dead themselves had been lying. The gist of the conversation would lead him to say otherwise.] They've always had limits on how long they're able to talk; I think it was a time saving measure.
monsieurchatastrophe: (and so I'll read a book)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-24 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[he doesn't realize that's a weight off his back until he's sagging in relief at Dorian's announcement. still:]

Did they know whether the people on the Nuwa are still in the project, or are they safe while they wait to see... what happens here?

[at least let SOME PEOPLE get out of murder game hell if they don't tbh]
tevinteriscoming: (banter. 5)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-25 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ah - I'm afraid I didn't think to ask. But I had the impression, at least, that the Nuwa is safe. We're the ones still in danger.
monsieurchatastrophe: (start on the chores and sweep)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-25 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
I guess that's something. At least now we can concentrate on our own problems.

[OF WHICH THERE ARE ... MANY]
tevinteriscoming: (banter. 7)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-26 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
So much simpler when we only need to defeat the queen of all aliens before the ship is blown up without also concerning ourselves with other people's problems.
missmaladroite: (everything I prayed for?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-25 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
They're alright? [For now. But Alya's safe--- Marinette heaves an internal sigh of relief. But upon the letter passing, she hesitates, but actually reaches for hers]

It was a trick to draw out the Souvlaki... but whatever was possessing Fiona reacted. I wonder if they have some way to communicate.
tevinteriscoming: (concerned. 2)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-25 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
What do you mean?

[He's not sure what she's getting at.] The trick was to force the souvlaki to kill someone. But they hadn't done it yet, by the time Fiona was revealed.
missmaladroite: (Angel?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-25 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
[She's thinking out loud, basically]

Fiona attacking can't be a coincidence. Even if we agreed not to kill for the Nuwa's sake.... whatever aliens are remaining wouldn't let themselves get purged, right? We think that Fiona was in, er, like, a baby stage of being possessed, right?

[she mimes some kind of zombie movement] And then the AI was killed.... do you think Fiona and the remaining aliens somehow cooperated? Were they in contact with each other?
tevinteriscoming: (complain. 1)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-26 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Could be. Or it could be that the remaining alien planned to strike, but Fiona went first, after her infection was discovered.
missmaladroite: (everything I prayed for?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-28 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
[She considers that]

I wonder how she got infected in the first place...
douchemag: (angry)

[personal profile] douchemag 2016-08-25 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Judar looks momentarily startled, then relief flickers over his face for a second before it changes into anger.]

They couldn't have mentioned that a little fucking sooner?!

[THE GUILT OVER KILLING NUWA'S BEEN EATING AT HIM FOR DAYS...haha no just kidding he totally forgot about that part after the queen showed up and he never felt that guilty in the first place w h o o p s]
tevinteriscoming: (concerned 5.)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-25 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
They actually couldn't have, no. They got in touch as soon as they were able.

[Don't be rude, Judar. I mean, insult the dead all you want, but don't imply he's not much too pretty to be left waiting for a call.]
erythristic: (dream.)

[personal profile] erythristic 2016-08-25 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
So...they lied to us.

[she can't even be mad. that was an impressive piece of work to pull off.]
tevinteriscoming: (concerned 5.)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-26 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't say lied. If I've understood correctly, the deception may not have been on their part. But it does seem to have achieved our ends well enough.

They saved us. Just. Differently than we'd thought they had.
erythristic: (anonymous.)

[personal profile] erythristic 2016-08-26 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder if they expected that so many of us would consign ourselves to dying for the Nuwa.

[if that sacrificial heroic trait was what they were banking on to get the result they wanted.]

But then...what was the Nuwa told, when they saw our faces? Did they know about this plan?
tevinteriscoming: (serious. 7)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-27 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't think to ask. I don't know, I don't think so. They weren't able to speak to the inhabitants of the Nuwa, though they were able to see that they were in good health. But they were able to speak to Dr. Lin.
