[dorian.... adrien feels so bad for his technology-riddled life] We'd be dead if we'd destroyed the power. What we broke was the fuel reserve. [how to word this in a way that ye olde mage gets it. hmm.] Um, think of it like using up your magic. You're tired and weak, but you're alive, right? You just can't do a specific thing. In the ship's case, it can no longer move. We have the emergency life supply power on right now, so if someone can redirect some of that to the set up for a trial... It's not ideal, but I think it's possible if... Sunny said we can.

Yes, I understand the concept of a fuel source. But if the ship isn't powered from there, where is this emergency fuel source? [He's still assuming it has to be a different magical orb somewhere else, mind.]

I have no idea. The ship using a different power supply for life support and fuel makes sense, but how to redirect it and where it would actually be is ... way out of my field of expertise.
