WEEK 11

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (11)

monday - thursday

(14) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

monsieurchatastrophe: (a few new paintings to my galle)

[i'm so sorry for everyone he was dragged here. anyway three legged cat without painkillers has a few questions, mostly all of them because what? the fuck? but this has been established]

So... wait, if they don't kill... and we kill... everyone on the other ship dies? And vice-versa? And if no one kills we all die... and if ...

[he attempts to gesture with his right hand and it only moves his nub. he stares at it for two seconds before gesturing with his left]

What's the point of two ships?

[adrien's only points of talking is to go THIS IS STUPID let him rest]
chiseler: (what's worth forgiving?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-16 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's just...going to walk to where Adrien is to gently push his head to the table. Please take a nap, drunk kitten, you're fine.]

That is an interesting question. Why are there two ships? Which one of us was supposed to be the back-up plan? And why did both ships pull from our worlds specifically?
monsieurchatastrophe: (just like I'd dreamed they'd be)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-16 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[low pitched noise of annoyance at being shoved, though he does lie his head down on his one actual arm as he talks:]

S'not that. I mean, no, that's good questions too, but. The Captain... Her video. The way she talked, about how she hadn't meant to make our lives worse... and then about the aliens. I thought. This game wasn't what the project was meant to be originally? Maybe?

[he'd assumed that, anyway, and if this wasn't meant as a trap to the aliens, then what was the point of all of this ever? also:]

What happened to the other people on their ship?
chiseler: (ask a reason and no reply)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-16 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Good cat. He'll ruffle his hair a little mostly to keep his own chill before he takes a step back.]

Right. We know the Cradle Project wasn't meant to be a killing game on our ship, but that doesn't mean it wasn't meant to be on Nuwa. Maybe those are the only ones who've been on board. We don't have enough information about the ship itself. [He raises an eyebrow.] You're asking a lot of good questions though. [Surprisingly.]
monsieurchatastrophe: (just feel that summer breeze)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-16 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[petulantly:] I'm armless, not brainless. [2 soon, agreste. 2 soon.]

Nothing about this makes sense. She admitted to lying... why? Our survival? There was a bigger chance of someone here killing and us surviving if we all thought it was the only way for our specific hostage to live. The info we've got about this entire project implied that it went through a lot of trouble to get off the ground, but now suddenly we've got two ships running it?

[and, because not all his questions are winners and he's not all there]

How did my father even make it eleven weeks? He's a fashion designer!
chiseler: (no one really knew it was really only u)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-17 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[There's a soft snort. Too soon, Agreste, but Luke has a shitty sense of humor.]

You think maybe it's possible somebody's messing with her programming and she overrode their commands? AIs can do that right? [He's thinking small scale, but whatever.] I don't have answers to those either and I have a feeling Alice doesn't either. There's something about this project that has a lot of big holes in its logic and we don't even know where to start.

[But he blinks for a second.] ...I don't know if that's impressive or really scary. [But he shakes his head.] Who knows, maybe he has people protecting him for some reason.
monsieurchatastrophe: (and so I'll read a book)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-17 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. It doesn't... make sense. She said they learned about everything before us, including aliens, but... the captain died? The aliens weren't common knowledge, they send a distress signal and got [he's obviously trying to make a "grawr" motion with both hands but it doesn't quite work since. he has half the grawr capacity] instead. If there was a second ship, shouldn't they have answered the signal?

[the bit about his dad having people protect him just kind of makes Adrien stare blankly]

...Maybe if he paid them?

[ADRIEN CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE HIS FATHER WOULD HAVE HUMAN BEINGS WILLING TO PROTECT HIM OF THEIR OWN FREE WILL]
chiseler: (hit 'em right between the eyes)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-18 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Not if there was something wrong with our ship that was blocking the signal. [He's thinking of a conversation he had with someone else and it's clear he's putting thought into something.] We also don't know how far away that second ship is. Maybe we're out of range.

[But he's just. Staring.] ...do you think they have money in space? It can't be any weirder than bringing somebody like--[...Todomatsu. So he's not going to finish that sentence excuse him.]--some of the people we have here.
monsieurchatastrophe: (just like I'd dreamed they'd be)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-18 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
[he hums in thought, but it's obvious he's not convinced. anyway, more importantly:]

Yeah, but they're... likeable.

[adrien is going to regret this entire discussion on his next attempt to defend his father, probably]
chiseler: (no one really knew it was really only u)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-18 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
[...ahahahaha. Sorry, he's snickering to himself.]

You already know what I think of your dad, kid. That's not that reassuring. [Who knows? Maybe they'll kill Mr. Agreste.] Guess we'll learn soon enough. It'd be weird if Alice didn't update us again after this now that we know there's a second ship.
monsieurchatastrophe: (just smell the grass the dirt)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-18 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
[annoyed groaning as he lies his head down on the table fully]

This... sucks. Two's too many.

[i think some three legged kitty might've reached his helpfulness limit, woops]
missmaladroite: (you sexy thaaang)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-17 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Are we sure this isn't just a mind game being played by both AIs....

[Mumbles Marinette, but she's pretty toned down]
monsieurchatastrophe: (just like they do on my bday each year)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-17 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
We're not, that's the thing.
missmaladroite: (I believe in miracles)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-17 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
And she can't seem to keep her story straight.
monsieurchatastrophe: (and wondering and wondering)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-17 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Or her literature references.

[it's a weak joke but like. he tried. he tried and so no one can criticize him]
missmaladroite: (you sexy thing)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-18 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
[It actually heartens her to see him making jokes, why has their life reached this point.]

Or anything else.
