saturday TRIAL DAY ONE (16) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

[...here we go again. He's sitting in a chair, Backbiter's propped next to him, his journal's in front of him, and there's a bright pink scrunchie still attached to his wrist. Also wrapped around the scrunchie is a long strand of twine tied so it can't be removed from Luke's wrist. The end of said-twine is currently being held by Adam Parrish. Adam is a rude human being.]

Let's just get this over with, okay?

[ Definitely keeping a tight grip on the twine. Don't worry friends Luke can't go anywhere. ]

You were saying about handling things?

[chiseler]

[He just makes a face and reaches up with his free hand to flick Adam in the forehead.]

It's not like I had this in mind when I said that.

[antietam]

[ Tugging at the twine harshly?? Don't start a fight. ]

You can't handle anything if you're not prepared for it.

[chiseler]

[Ow?? He frowns but at least he stops.]

I don't think any of us were prepared for this. Ready for a long weekend?

[ raises hand ]

I'm not sure I can ask questions as a fellow suspect - no, wait, I think I can 'cause we always do - but what's up with the leash, dude.

[ this is the most important question. ]

[chiseler]

[Everything is awful. Elizabeth and Todomatsu are dead, he's on trial, and now he's being questioned by teenagers for really dumb things that Were Not His Idea.]

Turns out someone doesn't trust me not to get myself in trouble or killed. This was the solution I woke up to this morning.

I mean, fair. We all seem to be incapable of not getting into trouble.

[chiseler]

Isn't that what we're supposed to do on a murderous spaceship floating through the sky? [He's trying to joke about it, but uh. You know. Friends are dead, this isn't cool, etc.] We'll see how effective it is.

[Please ask, Dave, there is an explanation probably.]

[ looks at that leash ]

You boys need to keep your kinks in the bedroom.

[chiseler]

Roxy, don't even start. [Said from behind his free hand.]

[muties]

If I don't start, who will? I guess maybe you, since you're apparently naughty enough to need leashing?

[chiseler]

Trust me, if I had my way this wouldn't even be happening. It's the most effective way to shut him up for a while. [He doesn't sound too particularly put-out though but it doesn't hurt that he's a little biased toward Adam. Still, he's busy picking at the makeshift leash.]

How'd you, me and Dave end up here anyway? Hard to believe isn't it?

If only you'd been leashed at the time of the murder?

[chiseler]

Man, not you too. Don't encourage him. [Dorian please no. Adam probably had the same idea already.]

I wouldn't dream to interfere in your private affairs. But it does rather defeat the purpose of keeping an alibi if you wander off.

[chiseler]

I don't really have private affairs...[But that's besides the point.] For the most part my alibi's accounted for don't you think? My way seems to be working out just fine.

[bloodteller]

Hey! That's actually a pretty good idea.

[ the twine, that is. she should hang with adam, clearly!! (no save adam) ]

[chiseler]

How is this even remotely a good idea, Yuno? [NO???]

[bloodteller]

If you hold onto someone, then they can't get away or get into trouble. That's the best way to make sure they're okay! If you're together, then you can make sure that nothing bad happens to them.

[chiseler]

You realize you basically just described like a prison right? Or when Alice handcuffed all of us together for a week. [...granted nobody murdered that week.]

Is the leash to stop you from attempting to get yourself killed?

[because if it is then Adrien has to become friends with Adam over this immediately?]

[chiseler]

Is it that obvious? [That. Adrien is probably the only person to understand what the hell the leash is for.]

[well adrien would never think it's a sex thing so IMMEDIATELY, THE ONLY SOLUTION]

I can't think of anything else it'd be for, so... [don't tell him]

[WHAT A PURE CAT nobody tell him anything.]

Nah, you're right. Parrish and I talked, figured it was probably not a good idea to keep running out when I'm not valued especially on murder day. Or trial days. [Considering last trial he tried to explode, so.] I'm not sure how effective it'll be.
