wednesday afternoon, art storage
tuesday...
As he makes it to the recreation room, Jack stops in the doorway to take in the scene, then whistles lowly. It's partially because he's impressed at the mess, sure, but also just to lightly alert to his presence. He walks inside, but he stops just at the door to cross his arms and lean against the wall next to it. ]
Wowwww, not feelin' the popcorn today, huh?
[ He's teasing in his tone, but his expression is at least slightly sympathetic. ]
no subject
...I like extra butter on my popcorn, but they didn't get the amount right.
[ she offers a very tired smile. at the very least, she can read the mood. ]
They'll clean it up soon, don't worry about it. There's a bunch more. It's fresh.
no subject
Ohhh, totally get it. Happened to me once on a real bad day. And y'know what I did? [ He snickers, then makes a motion like he's holding something down with force, roughly at a counter's height. ] Shoved the friggin' idiot's head right under the butter dispenser. You know how hot that stuff comes out? Man. He does.
[ He relaxes with a laugh, like this is a great, wonderful, and also hilarious story, but then looks to Yuno. Even as he's looking at her, he nods towards the popcorn machine. ]
So, this your batch? Correct butter on this one?
no subject
still, she approaches, leaving the stick on the pool table. after joining him at the popcorn machine, yuno nods. ]
Yeah. I set it up the way I like. Do you want another batch with your preference? I can set it up as soon as this one end.
[ unfortunately now this batch won't end up on the floor, probably. can't throw a huge BABY FIT with jack here that's embarrassing ]
no subject
[ That's not actually reassuring, Jack...
He looks around for something to scoop it up with, since he actually legit does want some popcorn now. He has a weakness for snack foods. He'll motion to her to ask if she wants some first, since if so, he'll get hers first too. He occasionally has manners. Though even so, his expression does shift to slightly more serious. ]
So... To tackle the elephant in the room here. You doin' okay, kiddo?

FIRST OF ALL, HOW DARE YOU,
>:]
tuesday
When he floats into the room though, his eyes widen and he whistles lowly when he sees the state it's in.]
Whoa, the fuck happened here? Don't tell me someone got offed already.
[thanks asshole way to be sensitive]
no subject
It's syrup, not blood.
[ the...red stuff... on the floor. ] The squirter is off. [ it is not. it really isn't. yuno just got made and tossed a cup full of the stuff everywhere.
but she stops in the middle of her two person game of ddr?? even though she's the only one here?? probably scared off everyone else tbh. what does judar want, just to hang around and make her feel vaguely bad for the big red mess on a murdership?? ]
no subject
Whatcha doing? Anything fun down here? [Yeah, he really is just here because he's bored and wants to hang out. If he notices her angsting over her secret, he's not going to mention it. He hadn't bothered watching it anyway, though of course he'd heard the general announcement - as far as he sees it, there's no reason to care enough to go snooping into people's private business.]
no subject
Aw, shoot.
[ win some lose some, apparently. ]
I was just... playing some games. You want to try? This one is a dancing game, but there's Ms. Pac Man over in the corner. [ she'd mention pool but yuno is pretty sure he'd either be really good at it or absolutely horrible at it. maybe even a combination of the two. ]

tuesday
Yuno.
[ Elizabeth speaks firmly as she enters the room. ]
What - .. what happened?
no subject
Elizabeth...
[ she thinks back to her words, to a point in time that she would never take back now. a moment yuno can only think of as important -- it gave her everything she needed to move forward. it's elizabeth. elizabeth understands, if there's anyone who understands, it's elizabeth, elizabeth elizabeth elizabeth elizabeth elizabeth elizabeth elizabeth knows ]
...
I won't regret it.
They can't make me.
no subject
[ Elizabeth can't stay back, she'll rush at the girl. Even if she's fearful. Even if she's confused. If Yuno strikes her, Elizabeth is vulnerable to take the hit, but instead, if she can, she'll pull the girl into a tight embrace. They know. Everyone knows every rotten, torrid, horrible secret and Elizabeth's feelings on the matter are conflicted, but she can't... She saw the cage, she feels her stomach tighten in disgust and - even if Yuno has blood on her hands, Elizabeth knew at one point she may as well. Be it Daisy's or Comstock's.
It was all for freedom in the end.
Elizabeth's arms are wrapped so tightly around the girl, holding her and shushing her like a child. Her voice a soft whisper: ]
Don't regret. Don't. Shh... It'll be okay. They can't hurt you. Alice can't hurt you.
no subject
she's sticky from bright red cherry syrup, covered in remnants of popcorn. evidence of a fit, evidence of momentary rage and disappointment. yuno does not breathe. she chokes. ]
I'm not-- ch, child... I am no one's... [ yuno is no one's child. yuno is -- without yukki, what is she? who is she? where is she? where does she belong?
...her arms curl around elizabeth's back, shaking. ]
It was an accident!
no subject
[ She tightens her embrace, trying to steady the girl. The syrup smears into Elizabeth's pure white corset and there's no second thought. The girl needed comfort and she'd offer it in any way that she could. It was horrible to leave someone who was on the verge of mental instability to fend for themselves. ]
I'll clean this up later, we need to wash you off. [ Anime bath ecchi moments? Who the fuck knows. ] Yuno... it'll be alright. Just think, we'll be in Paris soon, right?

wednesday;
...pretty sure you can't eat those. [It's a light tone, mostly to play it off as a joking remark in regards to last week's attempts, but he seems interested all the same for a moment.] I'm kind of impressed.
no subject
You could, if you really tried. It just would hurt a lot.
[ his compliment holds her attention, though. yuno curls around to face luke, and her expression is tired, tired, tired, exhausted. but she shows it without fear. ] Thank you. I... I'm good with my hands. There isn't a lot I can do, but something like this, I can do.
no subject
Somehow I got the impression, what with the baking and now this. I've never been really good at this kind of stuff. Takes way too much patience. [And like with the baked goods, he has one important question.] What're you gonna do with all of these when they dry?
no subject
Here. [ her hands are still a bit messy, but she plucks a tiny... letter opener? no it's a sword. yuno picks a hard clay sword up. it's no bigger than palm sized, and she holds it out for him. ] I'll give you this one. I don't know if heroes always use swords, but it fits you.
no subject
Hero. Riiiight. After a moment he nods and picks the sword from her fingers, holding it flat in his hand to examine it.] Pretty strong word, Yuno...but it's pretty cool. [And then, awkwardly:] Thanks. [A lingering pause.] ...why would you use that word?

wednesday.
but still, she's slow to approach, making sure she's heard so Yuno doesn't think she's sneaking up on her.]
You've got some incredible talent.
[this, she's sincere about.]
no subject
...Thank you.
[ it isn't the most sincere statement. ]
You can take one, if you want to.
[ it's punctuated with a tired gaze, and then she turns back to her work. ]
no subject
[though if Yuno would rather work on clay than talk to people, Grell knows. that Yuno hasn't asked her to leave is progress of a sort, and Grell decides to push her luck a little further.]
...I was sincere, you know, at the trial. When I said I would show you how I did that with your hair. Just as a reminder.
no subject
...Before the next trial, can I come visit you? [ will you do her hair and make up grell, she has compliments to receive ]
