saturday TRIAL DAY TWO (22) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

I know we're still trying to get the details of the murder right - but let's look at a different angle. The suspects' alibis.

According to their alibis, Adam, Dorian, and Bull met up and spoke at 8:30 PM. From then on, Dorian and Bull went to his room, where Bull left him alone briefly, and then spent the night together. If they're both telling the truth, neither of them would have a big window to commit the murder.

Adam is unaccounted for after their conversation, and had until 12:00 AM on his own.

Luke was unaccounted for from 7 PM and on.

And Grell was unaccounted for for most of the evening... unless someone witnessed her in the any of the areas.

Did anyone else cross paths with the suspects at any time?

Luke was with me in the archives from 10PM to 12, actually. Unless that's also unaccounted for?

You two were together there? [OOPS SHE MADE A MISTAKE LOOKING AT THE ALIBIS]

Then it was from 9-10 PM that you two were separated?

We were there together. After dinner, at 7, he and I went separate ways. I was in the archives when he came in at 10 and we decided to head to bed at 12.

So you're unaccounted for from roughly 9:00 to 10:00 PM, and he's unaccounted for... from after dinner to 10:00PM. That gives him a wider timeframe.

What Adam said. Also can confirm Grell and I were goofing off down in the robotics lab around quarter after nine. She came in after I was already there and we hung out until we split off and I went to the archives and found Adam. [There's a short smirk.] Ask Grell about what she was printing.

Do you remember roughly what times?

I tend to do things by hours. [As much as he joked with Machias about having a schedule, Luke subconsciously watches time.] I left the weapons locker around nine and walked over to the robotics lab because I wanted to print some more stuff. Grell came in a little after that. I left about ten and found Adam and we stayed there until we headed back to my room for the night.

Yes, you er, printed, a lot of interesting things.

What were you doing with Grell?

Yeah, I imagine you saw all that. I wasn't doing anything with Grell specifically, she just happened to be there printing off sunset-colored dildos. [May as well be frank about it.]

I can confirm that much on my part. As for Adam, I can't recall the exact time we spoke, but we spoke for a decent while. He didn't really need to stop and chat, either, but he chose to. Seems odd behavior if he'd just been coming from a murder, but what do I know.

Er, well I would think, if he was the killer, he would have done it after you spoke?

[but she doesn't sound sure.]

Regardless, we do need to establish a timeline of sorts. His death had to have been after 8:00PM, and the struggle in his room that caused the flooding could have only been between 8:00 and 9:00 PM.

It was after 8 that we spoke; I'm sure Bull and Adam have it right that it was about 8:30. I think him doing it after is even more suspect, frankly. If the point was to draw Arumat back to his room, why wait nearly an hour to strike, and risk that he leaves?

[She considers that] That's a good point.

The window of flooding is from 8:00 to 9:00 PM - if you spoke at 8:30 until close to 9:00, one of you three being the killer is unlikely.
