WEEK 8 - Trial Day Two

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (8)

saturday TRIAL DAY TWO

(22) survivors

At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort.

The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up.

The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body.

To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it.

Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

I'm not a savage, miss.

Is there someone you'd prefer to have look at you behind covering? Your alibi didn't have a single person, I doubt we're having to deal with you and an accomplice hiding the evidence.

[ OR ARE WE? ]

[ there's an immediate squeak of confirmation from yuno. her hair's still in the braid that grell fashioned for her last night, somehow. because reasons ]

I can do it. I want to check on her cut, too.

[before she can answer (and damn, why was Luke a suspect when she could have used his assistance so dearly), Yuno appears, and Grell feels herself being saved.]

Yuno. I trust you to do this.

[that, as well as covering being promised, will get her to relax. lead the way, Yuno, and let's get this part over with as fast as possible.]
bloodteller: (blow a fistful out)

[ she will absolutely lead the way behind some kind of screen or something; yuno's a girl, too, so she knows how much privacy means. ]

Do you mind handing me your clothes so I can empty the pockets, too?

[ gotta do it properly for grell, after all. ]
erythristic: (storm.)

[she nods, but her mouth is set in a tight line as she begins to take off her dress. she knows how to undo the buttons a lot faster than anyone else on this ship, she thinks, so she'll get it done with. once the dress is undone enough that she can shrug it off, she'll give it to Yuno, and gets herself down to her chemise and drawers. in her pockets Yuno will find her notebook, a pen, a few hairpins, and a handkerchief.

the chemise, before Grell reaches up to adjust it, shows a small section of that scar mentioned in her profile card. but apart from the white bandages wrapped tightly around her right forearm, there's nothing out of place. no syringe marks, no burns, no injuries apart from the one she's taking care of.

throughout this entire process Grell is very carefully avoiding making eye contact, more tense than she's been this entire trial. they didn't have to do this last trial.]

[ the items are removed from grell's dress with a careful hand. she doesn't want to mess them up, and yuno looks up to observe grell's body with a careful eye once her pockets are emptied. unfortunately, it's not enough for yuno; with much grace, she reaches up to push at grell's jaw, to turn her head. ]

Making sure there's no syringe marks.

[ this way and that way, and then yuno grabs grell's arm with a firm hand. it's a tight enough grip to show how serious yuno is about this, but not enough so that it should be hurtful. she intends to be thorough, so grell's arms are inspected, from the fingertips to her shoulders. yuno makes a point to circle her to check grell's shoulders, too, before moving onto the next arm. ]

Do you mind if I take the bandages off to check that, too?
erythristic: (masked.)

[Grell doesn't protest, and easily goes along with the motions. it's what's required, and as long as Yuno is being professional about this, she will endure it. still no marks, and when it comes to the bandages...]

As you wish.

[it's tied well enough for someone who's been doing it with one hand, and unwrapping it shows something close to what Yuno would have seen before - a long, straight cut down her forearm, still red but at least unlikely to begin bleeding for no reason. it's going to scar when it's fully done, but that's Grell's problem, not Yuno's.]
bloodteller: (after all i drifed ashore)

[ she thumbs over the injury, lightly. ]

You should probably let it breathe soon. And some lotion might help with the scarring.

[ back to business, though. yuno pats down grell's sides, bending down to check her legs for anything out of the blue, too. ]
erythristic: (cause.)

[personal profile] erythristic 2016-07-31 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
How soon would you say is enough to let it be exposed?

[nothing on her legs but untouched skin! Yuno is the only one who can see how in shape murdermom is.]
bloodteller: (you would always win the fight)

[personal profile] bloodteller 2016-07-31 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[ murdermom got legs for DAYS ]

A few more days, maybe? I'm not a medical expert. Maybe Luke would know.

[ they're out of doctors, anyway. yuno stands up straight, and retrieves grell's dress. ] All done!
