WEEK 8 - Trial
the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (8) |
saturday TRIAL DAY ONE (22) survivors ![]() At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote. |

her desk has a certain chain of beads on it, as well as papers and a few pens. some are loose, but others may be clipped together. a small cup sits on it as well with a few cut flowers from the garden - some blossoms of lily of the valley, fresh enough that their scent is still there. the strange part of it is the bed. the top bunk has had the sheets and blanket pulled over the side, to create a sort of makeshift curtain that hides the bottom bunk. trying to be cozy, a little more personal, but in this ship it's hard.]

[ seeing as that's the thing that stands out the most, she'll be pulling the makeshift curtain-bedsheet to the side. it's not exactly careful or gentle, but she'll put it back later. probably. ]

for her own part, she goes to check the top of grell's desk. she pays extra attention to the flowers, and then direct her attention to the papers and pens. ]
Don't get caught in a trap, Minako! [ but there's a teasing tone to her voice. ]

the desk's flowers are innocent enough, just flowers in a cup, and the desk papers are a mix of things. one loose paper is a list of different situations such as "how to handle amputation", and several of them are checked off. a clipped together bunch is half begun, then abandoned sketches of things on the ship - mainly flowers from the garden, but there are a few left behind ones that seem like they're trying to draw a person's head, or maybe Alice's form. another few pages are about the weapons in the weapons bay, just noting some of their designs and the names with them. one more is a list of every name on the ship, and all the current dead have been struck out.
also, there are drawers in that desk, but they can't be important.]

[ that makes her soften her hardened expression a bit, but that might be temporary! for now, she'll look through the tablet and pat down the pillows and sheets for anything that might be hidden. ]
Any luck over there?

[ yuno opens the desk drawers, will minako be joining her in this invasion of privacy]

the second drawer has more to it. eleven sealed envelopes are in two piles, all neatly addressed. atop them are two other things. one paper is unfolded, resting on top of everything else. a second paper is folded into thirds, resting by an envelope that is addressed to a location in London, England. seems she didn't want to commit to this letter just yet.]

... You're reading over my shoulder, right? [ she assumes, at least ] What should we do? Put them back or take them with us? [ why is she even considering taking them talk her DOWN MINAKO ]
no subject
but of course, those things aren't the most interesting pieces that are in her drawers. she's looking over yuno's shoulder, nodding. ]
Uh-huh. [ she pauses. ] I dunno... I mean, there is a chance that she won't make it out alive today, and it says there that she wants them in the conference room in case that happens.
[ she thinks for a moment. ]
Maybe we should keep it to ourselves for now. If she doesn't end up executed, we can give them back to her.

Okay!
[ back into the drawer they go, then. good job, minako. yuno hesitates as she goes to close the embroidery drawer, eying the tools in there. it gives her an idea... ]
Desk is clear, so... I'll take the bathroom. Can you take her closet?
no subject
Roger.
[ and off she goes. hopefully there are no skeletons in this closet! ]

in her bathroom, Yuno will find the usual assortment of items - the only things that stand out are a small tin full of hairpins, a bottle of rose oil for scent, a small container of rouge, and a roll of bandages with gauze pads. Yuno will know what the last is for, because after all, Grell had asked her to help her change her bandages during a trial before. seems as though it's still healing up and she's being careful.]
no subject
but everything else checks out, she supposes. the bandages are noted, too, as those can potentially confirm at least some of grell's alibi. ]
She's got a roll of bandages, like she said she got.
no subject
I guess she's in the clear so far, then... There's nothing too suspicious in here.
[ that's when she'll see the blush on her lips, which is... well, okay. she'll point to her own lips with a bit of a confused look. it's cute, but like... what. ]
no subject
Is there anywhere else, Minako?
[ she's grabbing the roll of bandages, just to be safe. might as well prove it. ] The desk, closet, bed, bathroom... Nothing else?
