WEEK 8

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (8)

monday - thursday

(23) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

{ Arumat swings by here often enough... mostly through the earlier part of the week up until Wednesday for some peace and quiet, if anything. He doesn't expect to see a certain red head in here, her nose seemingly deep in a text book.

He doesn't see which, deciding to lean against a wall, and close his eyes for a bit. }

What kind of text caught your eye -- and for what reason?

It's one of this ship's books on the practice of medicine.

[her eyes glance up to see Arumat's familiar form before she looks back down to the paragraph she was at.]

In a single week we've lost a section of those we could trust to deal with injuries beyond the norm and crisis situations, and we had three people injured gravely directly following. Letting that remain the state of affairs...it's unthinkable. I might not be classically trained, but I can devote some time to picking up useful information and theory.

[and it keeps her mind off this motive. the one that had led her to throw her datapad into the wall when she saw it.]

Hm... you seem capable enough to pick it up as well.

{ He'll be getting comfortable right about here, and even sit down, because why not? He's nearby someone he is familiar with. }

If you want, we can even probably create some sort of faux scenario and I can quiz you on the knowledge you picked up from medical text. I am familiar on dealing with medical procedures pertaining to fixing up an individual's injury.

{ He saved Machias after all using his first aid knowledge. It wasn't anything to scoff at. }

That would be most welcome.

[she sounds surprised when he suggests it - and she is, to think he'd do that, in a good way.]

Far better than waiting for something to happen and having my first test of memory being then. And if you have advice, I'd be happy to listen and learn.

{ Arumat's pretty willing to help out in a situation like this, so he has no issue. }

Exactly. Hm, before offering general advice, let's go through with an easy scenario.

{ He seems to think here for a moment... }

First, let's talk about a possibility in which someone has had their arm cut off. What's the first thing you'll want to do to save that person's life?

Stop the bloodloss.

[the answer comes easily.]

One would apply a tourniquet near to the area to stem the flow as quickly as possible.

Correct.

{ His tone contains a hint to indicate he's impressed and his expression softens somewhat, but it is so minute you can barely tell. }

With a wound like that just trying to halt the bloodloss without it would prove impossible. You are a quick, adept learner.

[good thing she practically thrives on praise, even if it's small.]

I've also been taking notes, to have reference on hand in case a situation arises again and something needs to be checked.

[there won't be time to run to the archives and scan books. there may, however, be time to check the one book she always has.][thanks, Jason] But I still pray everyone keeps their limbs attached for the time being.
