WEEK 7 - Trial Day Two

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (7)

sunday TRIAL DAY TWO

(24) survivors

At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort.

The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up.

The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body.

To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it.

Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

{ RIGHT. He'll probably come on down then to re-examine the residue before trying something else. Okay does this residue give off some sort of smell in particular if he gets near it and what color is it even (he may be looking to see if its sorta greenish) ? }

{ What is this...

Arumat should've dragged a detective down here.

He tries to see if the shape left behind matches up with the tape. If that doesn't work, he'll actually take pains to move the chairs out of the way to grab some salve from the medical bay to see if it looks similar to the slightly sticky residue if he rubs some of the salve nearby the door. HE DOESN'T THINK SO but he's gotta like. Try everything.

And if that's inconclusive, he'll be grabbing the chrome object to see if he can tell if its small enough to be the object that was placed there (since telling by shape wouldn't work). }

{ Just to confirm... does this mean two pieces of tape can be feasibly missing from the door besides the one piece of tape that was remaining on the door, then? Or is there some way to tell that besides the tape on the door it was more like just one tape may be missing?

If so, when he begins an attempt on the next phase of the set up, he'll have to grab more a bit of more tape, probably...assuming there's some around. }

{ Let's say Arumat goes to obtain more tape, then assuming there's some around or for the AI to hand out. Bless you ALICE (even if Arumat hates her still).

For the piece of tape that remained., which is it located on the door in comparison to the other sticky spots where the two larger pieces of tape were located? He'll want to determine the exact location before running off.

That and he gets more string. He tries to set up the tape again so that two pieces of tape keep one one piece of tape in place, and makes sure that it is long enough to reach Fumi's body, once it should be tugged... this time he keeps a hold on the string though.

When he leaps up into the vent, he makes sure he's holding onto the grate so he can put it back on when he's actually inside the vent. He tries to give a hard pull on just the one string to see if it makes the two pieces of tape rip off too or just snaps or whatever. }

{ There is a reason why Arumat shouldn't be allowed to do experiments. But maybe its weird the tape doesn't get pulled off...

Arumat replaces the string in the tape that's nearby the handle, connecting the one piece of string through the other two large pieces of tape and then decides to connect that string with the tail end of the string to the monitor. If he jumps into the ventilation without the grate and drops the monitor replica does it make the long string snap on the side of the door and make the string fall nearby Fumi?

... Which still doesn't settle how the string got snapped around the monitor. But god he is trying to figure out what force could be used to pull the two pieces of tape off and make them disappear. And maybe figure out the process through that. }
