sunday TRIAL DAY TWO (24) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

[Once the 9AM alarm has rung and all players have awakened, the statue in the alcove in the back of the room chimes gently. Holographic water begins pouring out of the jug the statue is carrying, forming the shimmering image of a vaguely feminine figure made out of liquid.]

I understand the incinerator takes about ten minutes to start up. Is it possible for someone to set it up to have it go off at a specific time?

That would not be possible, Machias.

Furthermore, it does not necessarily take ten minutes to start up. The incinerator will always start within ten minutes, but it could take a much shorter amount of time to start.

How short are we talking here? There's absolutely no way to delay or speed up the process?

It could theoretically start instantaneously, or take 9 minutes and 59 seconds to start.

Alice, would it be too much trouble to know what sort of material the stun gun is made out of?

It is composed of a combination of plastic, metal, and wiring.

I wonder if I could impose on you to lend us a replica? I should think it's about time we test the thing by stunning any individuals about Fumi's height.

[No, he definitely doesn't intend to do that but it seems like the kind of experiment Alice might give them a stun gun for.]

That depends, Dorian. First I would like to hear a logical reason as to why you believe the stun gun may be related to this case. I cannot simply hand out all the tools because someone asked for them, after all.

[otherwise everyone would want a lightsaber and then where would we be!!]

Of course. Eminently reasonable, as always. [Obviously she should just give it to him because he's handsome, though?]

First of all, the chrome object in the incinerator might well be a stun gun. What we presumed to be the vent map could be a decoy, printed out on the printer, meant to distract us from the actual weapon used. The stun gun in particular because, it seems, our killer may have managed to rend Fumi unconscious, so as to later return to the scene and kill her. A stun gun might be able to do that. Depending on its use, it might have even been able to subdue one's roommate, should they wake at an opportune moment.

I see. That is certainly an excellent theory.

However, I can assure you that the burned object was not the stungun. This would have been obvious had I presented it to you anyway, so I am not prohibited from revealing that information to you.

Ah, well. Alas! A different tack, then.

Adrien tells me he may only change into his costume once per day. Can we get a more accurate sense of the timing here? How long must he wait, and does the time start from when he changes, or from when he changes back?

He can change once from 12AM to 11:59PM. Once he has transformed, he will not be able to change again until 12AM the next day.

Ah. But what if, say, he changed at 10 PM in the evening, and remained transformed until after 12 AM, before changing back. Would he be able to transform that same day, seeing as he'd technically not done it since the day prior?

He would not. If he remained in his Chat Noir form after 12AM, that would count as his transformation of the new day. Once he returned to normal, he would not be able to change again until 12AM the next day.

That mystery box.

There's a possibility that could have been utilized as the tool in this murder, given the fact that ashes of paper were found and a strange unidentifiable chrome, metal object. Since we concluded that there were no wounds on Fumi's body, it wouldn't be an explosive or something sharp either. And if that mystery box was used, it has been brought up that an unorthodox item like a metal ball could have come from it to be utilized as a pulley system of some sort. This would make killing Fumi in an elaborate trap with string possible.

Is that good enough of a reason?

It is not a bad theory.

However, I can assure you the mystery box contains nothing similar a pulley system. Furthermore, the name suggests exactly that - the contents are a mystery. Even the killer would not know what was in it until after they received it and looked inside.

Excuse me. Would it be possible to see the cloaking device, please? When we found it on Allen, it was metal and small enough to be held in someone's hand like the thing we found.

It would also make sense if the killer was able to go invisible and sneak around the people in the area in order to get to the incinerator.

Very well, Adam. That seems like a plausible enough theory to me.

[A robot will present Adam with the cloaking device. It's small enough to fit in his hand and made of a uniform metallic material - it seems to just be a giant button. It's not quite chrome, but it's also not melted down...yet.]

Thank you. [ Can we assume Adam can go burn it in the incinerator? Because he will be trying that to see what it looks like. ]

[Whatever metal the cloaking device is made of, it melts very quickly and becomes a chrome color. It's a plausible match for what they found in the incinerator.]
