EXECUTION
Seconds later, a holographic screen is cast over the table. Kazuma appears in what appears to be some sort of cathedral, the light shining through the stained glass to wash everything in red. He looks around in confusion before his eyes widen as a woman approaches him, hatred on her face. Kazuma immediately casts a barrier, but to no avail as the woman surrounds him with magical fire. The fire eats through the barrier and burns him alive as he screams.
...or so it seems. As the fire dies down, it becomes clear that Kazuma is down but not quite out. His charred skin rapidly regenerates and in a few seconds, he’s back on his feet again, looking the picture of perfect health save for the agony on his face. He turns around and tries to flee, but the fire surrounds him and burns him again. And again. And again.
This process repeats at least a dozen times. Kazuma gets a few steps closer to the exit of the church each time, but being constantly roasted alive is clearly taking its toll on him. Not only has he screamed himself hoarse and nearly voiceless from the pain, but his healing powers get weaker with each iteration. By the time he finally manages to reach the exit, he’s dragging himself more than walking and his skin is visibly blistered everywhere.
Still, it seems like his suffering is finally at an end when he stumbles out of the exit and runs down the street, as the woman doesn’t pursue him or bother attacking once he leaves the cathedral. He gets a good distance away from her before collapsing in the alleyway, panting heavily but still alive…
...and then another woman approaches. Unlike the first, this one looks at him with compassion and kindness. Her face softens in pained sympathy when she sees the state he’s in - and yet Kazuma’s expression twists into pure horror when he sees her. He attempts to scramble away, but he doesn’t get far before she runs towards him, holding out her hands. Soft light emerges from them, apparently some sort of healing spell as Kazuma’s burns begin to disappear. It’s only the briefest of relief though before he suddenly starts to get violently ill, gagging and emptying his stomach at her feet. She tries to snatch her hands away and stop the spell, but it’s too late; whatever she did proves fatal as he somehow burns away at her touch in a bright flare of blue light.]

can he just
throw popcorn at kazuma's corpse while booing before the robots take it away
because he has all this perfectly good popcorn over here
it would be a shame to leave it unthrown.]

This is a great use of butterless popcorn.

it's more that it could have easily been her in that position and she sure as hell isn't ready to go out on someone else's dime—especially not when she's an innocent party. but she knew it was possible that she'd get voted, she knew her alibi was flimsy despite it being the truth. so she's just... visibly a bit shaken now that it's over. she kept strong during the trial because she's pretty good in tough situations, being from a war-torn world.
her composure is held somehow, but it's pretty clear that she's not nearly as okay as she's been in the aftermath of the past few weeks.
(but really, fuck kazuma too.)]

[ Just kind of nudging Harold's shoulder with her own, because Fumi is never going to be Otome, who just whips out hugs and comforting words like they're her weapons of choice. Physical contact is still hella awkward.
But still. ]
I guess I could let you apply nitrocellulose to my toes tonight.
[ BE COMFORTED, HAROLD. ]

Awww, Fumi-Fumi... That's pretty nice of you. [obviously, she's going to take fumi up on this offer later and give her the cutest pedicure she can. not quite as good as sciencing real hard, but she needs a definite break after all this.]

Arumat doesn't think he'll forgive him. This was... even worst than last week's trial, as selfish that may have been to think.
Whenever it ends, the man sits in his spot, hardly ready to move. His expression was impassive, like how it usually was, even as he felt like a weight had been shoved right onto his chest. It felt suffocating, but there was so little that could be done. He has many regrets this time, not only because he trusted in the wrong person and voted for someone innocent.
He'll probably take awhile before he'll begin to think about standing to his feet and exiting though. }

[ gently places hand to his shoulder, with a concerned yet clearly weary look. you all right... ]
Come on. Let's go. ... I think we've had more than enough for one weekend.

Yeah, this trial had gotten to him. He doesn't even seem too bothered by the touch, other than the frown that tugged at his lips now. He's too emotionally drained to get rowdy about it this time. }
Hmph. Are you sure you want to bother?
{ With him, that is. But he moves to stand to his feet and lightly moves away Machias' hand, so it's progress. }

Arumat... Will you be alright?

{ He almost seems back to his usual, but his eyes are a whirlwind of emotion -- mostly aligned with that of sorrow, regret...and a good amount of guilt for various reasons. He doesn't want to appear too broken up over it, but he is. It's messed him up. }
...Concerned?
