EXECUTION
Seconds later, a holographic screen is cast over the table. Kazuma appears in what appears to be some sort of cathedral, the light shining through the stained glass to wash everything in red. He looks around in confusion before his eyes widen as a woman approaches him, hatred on her face. Kazuma immediately casts a barrier, but to no avail as the woman surrounds him with magical fire. The fire eats through the barrier and burns him alive as he screams.
...or so it seems. As the fire dies down, it becomes clear that Kazuma is down but not quite out. His charred skin rapidly regenerates and in a few seconds, he’s back on his feet again, looking the picture of perfect health save for the agony on his face. He turns around and tries to flee, but the fire surrounds him and burns him again. And again. And again.
This process repeats at least a dozen times. Kazuma gets a few steps closer to the exit of the church each time, but being constantly roasted alive is clearly taking its toll on him. Not only has he screamed himself hoarse and nearly voiceless from the pain, but his healing powers get weaker with each iteration. By the time he finally manages to reach the exit, he’s dragging himself more than walking and his skin is visibly blistered everywhere.
Still, it seems like his suffering is finally at an end when he stumbles out of the exit and runs down the street, as the woman doesn’t pursue him or bother attacking once he leaves the cathedral. He gets a good distance away from her before collapsing in the alleyway, panting heavily but still alive…
...and then another woman approaches. Unlike the first, this one looks at him with compassion and kindness. Her face softens in pained sympathy when she sees the state he’s in - and yet Kazuma’s expression twists into pure horror when he sees her. He attempts to scramble away, but he doesn’t get far before she runs towards him, holding out her hands. Soft light emerges from them, apparently some sort of healing spell as Kazuma’s burns begin to disappear. It’s only the briefest of relief though before he suddenly starts to get violently ill, gagging and emptying his stomach at her feet. She tries to snatch her hands away and stop the spell, but it’s too late; whatever she did proves fatal as he somehow burns away at her touch in a bright flare of blue light.]

can he just
throw popcorn at kazuma's corpse while booing before the robots take it away
because he has all this perfectly good popcorn over here
it would be a shame to leave it unthrown.]

it's more that it could have easily been her in that position and she sure as hell isn't ready to go out on someone else's dime—especially not when she's an innocent party. but she knew it was possible that she'd get voted, she knew her alibi was flimsy despite it being the truth. so she's just... visibly a bit shaken now that it's over. she kept strong during the trial because she's pretty good in tough situations, being from a war-torn world.
her composure is held somehow, but it's pretty clear that she's not nearly as okay as she's been in the aftermath of the past few weeks.
(but really, fuck kazuma too.)]

Arumat doesn't think he'll forgive him. This was... even worst than last week's trial, as selfish that may have been to think.
Whenever it ends, the man sits in his spot, hardly ready to move. His expression was impassive, like how it usually was, even as he felt like a weight had been shoved right onto his chest. It felt suffocating, but there was so little that could be done. He has many regrets this time, not only because he trusted in the wrong person and voted for someone innocent.
He'll probably take awhile before he'll begin to think about standing to his feet and exiting though. }

Nonono, that is not how this was supposed to go!
[ He's very quickly on his feet to nearly sprint to those glass cases, because even if it's only a photograph, it's one that's incredibly important to him. He bangs his fist against the case without even really thinking about it, so... hopefully that doesn't get too hot? Not that he would care, since he plan here would definitely still amount to "punch through the glass and grab the picture out of the fire." Common sense is pretty hard to find when you're operating on pure instinct.
Luckily, one punch is enough for him to know that this isn't going to work, so he'll take a step back and watch with his hands clenches into fists at his sides. It's a sharp contrast to that usually jovial personality of his to see his expression twisted up into pure, definitely murderous fury. Somehow, he'd thought this wouldn't apply if they'd caught the right person, so he's nearly shaking in his anger. But he takes a further step back, throwing his arms out in a wide gesture like that would diffuse some of the tension that's making him really want to strangle whoever is closest to him. ]
Oh, cute, real cute. Whoever— I, I know some godddamn mouthbreather is watching this shitshow, so for whoever's watching at home? I'll come for you. You do not bring my daughter into this! Even a picture, that's—
[ But Jack makes a loud noise of frustration that cuts off the rest before at least giving the glass case another nice punch just for good measure. Fuck you, case!! But after that, Jack will be quick to storm off, since he needs to go calm down elsewhere so he doesn't shoot someone in the face just because it seems like good stress relief. ]

it's another means of closure that she has to go through, but it's still difficult. maybe just the idea of being able to see theodore again was nice, despite her resolve to do what she had to do for the world. it brings up complicated and selfish feelings, but she swallows them down as she watches the flames. ]

[When the fire is over, Jessie places her hand on the case that her mother's items were in. Those earrings, those coordinates. Despite how arrogant and sly she'd been during the trial, she looks unmistakably sad over losing those items. Arbok consoles her, resting his head on her shoulder.]
Mother...looks like you've left me again, haven't you? I don't like this habit of yours.

Clover jumps almost a foot in the air because jesus, always with the incineration and shit—but she folds her arms and forces herself to settle just as quickly, scowling now instead. It doesn't matter, really. She already has what matters most to her right here.
Hell if she can't grudgewank with the best of them, though, so yes, she is mad.]
Hmph. Sucks.
