WEEK TWO - Investigation

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (2)

friday

(?) survivors

Friday comes again, but this time it's much more gentle. There are no songs ousting you from your rooms, no — instead, you are allowed to sleep however long you would like as long as it does not breach any rules. If you attempt to open your datapad, however, you will be greeted with a video and accompanying music, of a different sort of persuasion from the music played previously — this one is not a jangly easy listening style tune, but rather a haunting and dreamlike elegy. Turning off your datapad will make the video disappear, but restarting the datapad will only bring the video back up again.

Despite this, nothing out of the ordinary seems to occur. You have lunch, wander the garden, and have a drink with the companions you have made in the past two weeks. Soon, mid-afternoon comes.

→ medical bay

[as ever, harold is heading towards the medical bay, because... well, where else would she be going?

she can't trust these kids for a minute not to mess with stuff in there, after all.]

[ Elizabeth was in the middle of trying to find the source of well.. everything and waves off Harold. A slow jog and she meets up with her. ]

Is there any other word?

[He's heading for the medical bay after they finish checking out the office, mostly to see if anyone's messed around with the equipment this time around.

Since Elizabeth and Harold are already there (or entering???), he'll give them a nod. And just go straight ahead to taking a closer glance at things. Rude.]

[elizabeth is company she doesn't mind, at least, jason can come too, sure!]

Nothing so far. That's why I want to get back and see if anything's been touched while I was gone. [she's definitely still eyeing things as they go, but she doesn't seem to notice anything out of place.

time to actually enter the room?]

Right, I'm relieved we took stock when we did... sad that we had to.

[ And they enter! Luckily for them, Fiona and Elizabeth had labeled some of the medical supplies and Harold would be able to note inventory. Also she gives Jason a courtesy nod, as if she's a bit shocked to see him here already.

So, time to start? She goes for the tinier objects like needles and scalpels, counting down the labeled tags marked 1 through ???? (how many there are). Are they all still here? ]

[harold knows they've been keeping track of the ointments and serums after the congealing serum fiasco last week.

but she'll call over to jason, too.]

Hey, you mind looking over there, through the bandages and first aid stuff? It should be pretty organized by now!

[Look. He can move real fast when shit might be going down.]

Sure. I don't mind.

[And he'll go do just that. Anything off in this part?]

[Not paying attention to this sort of thing is probably a sin to daddy dearest, lbr.

He'll pick up that roll of bandages, though, eyeing it for a moment before glancing over at the others.]

Someone used part of this up. [Holding up the roll for them to see.] Find anything else over there?

We really have to start keeping a sign-out sheet for people using stuff. Or maybe I should just stay in here all the time?

[she's not amused, but as she turns back to check what she was counting, she realizes the salve is missing too.]

Hmm? [she hums, counting, then counting again before picking up a notepad on the table that has a manual tally of some of the bigger items.]

Yep. There's a jar of salve that's completely gonezo. I didn't count it today, but it's definitely less than yesterday's.

Like anyone willing to commit murder in this place would be stupid enough to use a sign-out sheet. [And he's not even going touch upon the chances of her getting shanked for staying here all the time.] ... Guess it could help narrow down those who didn't steal some of this to cover their asses, though.

[And at the mention of the salve:]

So — one used roll of bandages, and a missing jar of salve. Looks like we should start looking for a trail of blood somewhere.

[she knows both would be useless, but she's unable to stop her own colorful commentary, especially when they've been trying to keep a close eye for this exact reason.]

Seems like it. We should make sure nothing else is wrong before we see if anyone else has found one yet. Last week, we almost missed something pretty im-por-tant because of the commotion!

[which is still bothering her a lot, honestly. usually she's better than that.]

We should check any other drawers and trash pail. [she's got no issue in rooting around the trash can, honestly.

she just wants to make sure if there's anything else to be found in this room, they get it in one shot. with three of them there, they should probably be able to cover it? probably? she thinks jason and elizabeth are capable of that.]

Fair point. The more thorough we are now, the less time we waste chasing down the wrong leads.

[They almost thought the victim tried to kill the real culprit, during the first trial. That kind of mistake is stupid, clumsy, and should be avoided at all costs — unless they want to execute the wrong person this time around.

And even if Harold has no issues with rooting around the trash, he'll gesture to the trash pail before she can get to that. He's wearing gloves unlike them, so.]

I'll take care of the trash pail. Check the equipment, too, to see if anything else is off.

[Like the diagnostic machine, and the rest of that broken junk.]
probings: (pic#10176572)

[personal profile] probings 2016-06-18 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Right. I'll check the diagnostic machine.

[since she really doesn't want anyone else touching the working machinery right now, tbh! checking the broken stuff can come in a minute, unless elizabeth does it first.]

[personal profile] antagonize 2016-06-18 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
[BUMMER. He wipes anything off his gloves on his pants like a bum and moves away from the pail.]

Nothing in the trash. I'll check the drawers next.

[Harold and Elizabeth can handle the machines, unless one of them wants to come help with the drawers once they're done.]
probings: (pic#10176572)

[personal profile] probings 2016-06-18 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
[she's doing a pretty thorough check, just to be sure.]

Nope, looks like we've got an all-clear here.

[she'll help with the drawers, in any case. she's not leaving until they've checked out every corner of this room.]
antagonize: (041)

[personal profile] antagonize 2016-06-18 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Good. One less thing to worry about, then.

[Because, really, do they want someone breaking the machinery as part of their murder plan?

That said, he'll thoroughly check the drawers and anything else that could be used to store items. Small corners and things like that, where someone could have shoved something in.]
