WEEK 1 - TRIAL DAY TWO
the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (1) |
saturday TRIAL DAY TWO (40) survivors ![]() At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote. |

I—I'm sorry, this threatening voice is just hilarious.. I think your terrible dye job warrants a better explanation, but fine, if you want to bully a defenseless lady, that's alright. [ She's shooting daggers at Arumat now. ] I did tell a lie, that's true, but can you blame a girl? If I told the truth, you'd all be lynching me immediately. I did visit Calisto that afternoon. We discovered that we were both from San Francisco, and around the same time, so we felt a little bonded, sort of like those two French children. We exchanged some makeup tips. We also talked about the botched court system in America, but I'm starting to think it's nothing compared to the one here, honestly.
[ She smugly puts a hand on her hip. ]
What I'd like to know is how you figure I would have been able to take her out. If you haven't noticed, I'm short. Only 5'1" without heels, and I'm on a strict diet so I can fit in my wedding dress. I could barely knock over someone my own size. So how would I have stabbed Calisto from the front, where she ostensibly could strike back? Before you accuse me, maybe you should figure that out. If you're worth your grain, that is.

Well, for one thing, she was likely stabbed while she was unconscious.

[Alita he was going to defend you, but you aren't helping yourself.]
Fancy that. Not a mark on her, definitively proving she can't have been knocked out by any means. That is, unless there was some sort of serum available that would heal any mark, but that would be quite a coincidence, wouldn't it?

Well...surely even she could drag a body to the daycare if needed. Calypso was hardly a large woman.

[harold shrugs.] Not saying it's likely, but it's not impossible, either.

Not everyone follows the same logic, you'd do well to remember that and to hardly waste your time on meaningless insults.
{ He looks unimpressed, looking down at her. }
Keep in mind that this isn't necessarily an accusation of murder, and I asked you to merely explain why your ring made that mark in her room.
How long were you in the room with her?
no subject
[ She sighs and shakes her head at Arumat, clearly disenchanted with his tough guy act. ]
I was in the room with her for a couple of hours. I didn't even realize my ring did anything like that. Really, it could have been anyone's ring, if they visited her. It must have just happened when I went in or came out and brushed against the door.
no subject
{ He crosses his arms. }
For a couple of hours? Specify. What time did you really return to your room?
And I do doubt it was anyone else's ring that caused the mark but yours.
no subject
... You lied about it. That fact remains, regardless of whether or not you're actually innocent in all this. There was nothing stopping you from speaking up during this trial, especially if you're actually looking to clear your name here!
no subject
[ A shrug. ]
no subject
[ Someone really better stop him because he's descending into one angry camper. His knuckles are already white. ]
The fact remains a woman is dead, and you just confessed to having been with her that day. How the hell can you be so damned smug about all this?

[ the cute tiny girl being engaged to a gangster, that is. ]
You hiding that you chit-chatted with Chorizo is more suspicious than if you had just, like. Said so in the first place, tho, hon.

It wouldn't have come up if they hadn't checked her room. Did your ring make the mark, tho? As a coincidental thing or whatev.

[ This girl's attitude... ]
Did you leave anything else out?

And quite frankly, it makes him feel awful to be questioning everything. And um can people plz stop disrespecting Miss Yew's body!!! It's bad enough they can't bury her properly :( Now she has, like, 10 extra stab wounds. ]
Let's backstep a little and separate the events. I'd like to know why your ring left a mark in the room at all. It's a bit strange. [ He looks apologetic. ] We haven't tied it to you being the killer, so... for you to jump from that to asking us how you could have possibly knocked Miss Yew out... Um, you connected the two events on your own, when they could very well be separate instances.

[ Better to confess to a lie then go down for a worse crime you didn't commit, at least. ]
I don't have any answers for the scrape. If I did it, I didn't notice. Calisto could also have left it with a ring of her own.

But... it's your engagement ring. And on your profile, it says you're skilled in "marrying rich." [ Whatever that means. ] I'd think you'd be more than a little fond of something this expensive. Surely you would have noticed if you'd scratched anything with it.
