WEEK 14 - I have been — and always shall be — your friend.

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (14)

monday

(41) survivors

You stand with your friends, your family, and your enemies, shoulder to shoulder. The deceased and the living are the same, now, and you've been reunited with the person trapped on the opposite ship.

You have four choices.

Four options laid before you - five, if you're smart about it. You have the option of staying on the Nuwa, a ship pre-programmed to land somewhere safe, soon, and then it's your's for the taking. You have the option of entering the Nuwa's virtual reality and crafting your own perfect world, but knowing it was a perfect world created by your own hand. Your third option is one of the Cradles, a machine created to bring you bliss, and permit you the dream you've always wanted, without the knowledge it's a virtual reality. Your fourth option lays in front of you, on the bridge of the Nuwa, and it's a tear in the fabric of reality, but you can see your home waiting for you. It looks idyllic, perfect, just the way you'd want it to be. Your fifth option lies in another tear - the tear of a friend. Perhaps their heart is kind enough to take in a stray.

The choice is your's to make, and whatever you choose, know that, for the first time in fourteen weeks, it's your choice.

We did.

{ ... }

There's nothing left for myself to return to. So, elsewhere, wherever that might be, and hopefully away from facing creatures like this again.

{ Don't get him wrong, he likes battles still, but facing that of which like the Souvlaki and Grigori have made him extremely reluctant to battle anything like that again - as well as hardly even wish those enemies on anyone he's ever met. }

You're going to return home, aren't you?

Yeah, I am. [ He looks a bit concerned. ] I'd offer my world, but I think it's awful different than what you're used to. You'd probably have a harder time there than with aliens.

You don't have any plans?

Likely awfully different.

{ But he'll scoff at the 'alien' portion. }

No. I'm not one for planning much of anything beyond 'go somewhere else' that isn't here or wherever happened to be my home. Usually wherever I wish to go, I go, and that's that.

...In the meanwhile, tell me about your world. What makes it so difficult that you think that I wouldn't be able to handle it?

Does that usually work for you? I mean, if you like it, I guess... [ He can't imagine not having plans for something as big as this, but he knows Arumat's very capable. ]

My world is very... [ He wants to say 'normal' but that's rude, isn't it? ] It's pretty calm compared to what you've experienced, I think. We've never encountered aliens and space travel is pretty limited. Sometimes magic can become a problem, but it's usually hushed.

... People don't react well to what they're not used to over there. Something like magic would create a huge uproar if the majority population knew about it. To you, it'd probably be backwards and not very advanced—we don't have laser scythes at all. But I never said you couldn't handle it. I'm pretty sure you can handle anything. [ He handled death pretty well. ]

What are you looking for in a world?

Whatever I do usually works just fine for me.

{ Arumat's done well with living his life on the edge... well, up until he came here anyway. And even then it sort of... worked out? }

...Hmph, it sounds like one of those undeveloped planets. Yet, it's a challenge enough that I can consider taking a visit.

{ There's a lengthy pause as he closes his eyes. If this body is still his, then that should mean his condition remained the same as it was back then. Limited time to spend doing what he may on his short lifespan. If he passed away... and that being it for real this time, where would he want to be? }

I'm looking for something new. Somewhere that could prove a challenge in one sense, and all the same be one where I could see myself going if I feel the urge to put up with someone's nonsense.

[ Adam seems a lot more pleased with that response. Arumat is confident enough in his abilities, so he'll try to be too. ]

It is pretty underdeveloped considering some of the things I've seen here. Maybe you can push it along?

[ He considers it. ] My—Ronan can take whatever he wants out of his head. So if you decide to visit and you need documents or something, we can give that to you. All you have to do is blend in.

{ Well, the UP3 technically isn't a thing yet... }

If I feel like it.

{ Regarding the technology. It'd be nice to be around trees again in a natural habitat, honestly. }

... Then, that makes it a simple, easy choice in my opinion. I'll join along for a visit, and we'll see how that goes.

[ Adam grins at that. He never minds taking strays, apparently. ]

Really? It's boring but—I'll give you a tour of the town. I think Opal would like you too, she's my kid. [ He gives Arumat a salute!! ]

{ Well, Arumat's been called a stray before, so...

Out of habit the Eldarian straightens his posture to rimrod and returns the salute, although there's a faint smile. }

Before we arrive there maybe you can tell me more about your town and your child. 'Hype' everything up, even if the town's plain.
