the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (13) |
saturday (10) survivors ![]() Something is different. You can feel it in the air: an ominous presence that weighs down the ship like it's underwater. Try as you might, you can't escape the feeling that you're being watched, the sensation of someone just out of view tailing you. Tensions are high, and paranoia grows with it. You feel it more than see it, and that's what warps your perception of the ship. Is it darker? Are the lights dimming? Who is it that calls out to you? Why is it so cold? Who can you trust? The distinct sensation of not knowing who your back is to wraps around you. There is one thing you can trust in, however; though you feel exposed, you are not alone. Mother is here for you. taken list profiles private conversations setting rulebook ENTER COMMAND_ |

whatever that creature was, she has the feeling Jason should be putting that sword of light through its eye.]
I've got your back.
[murmured low, to Jason himself. if that thing breaks the glass, they're all done for.]
no subject
The Lord judges, I act.
[ It's voice more static, robotic as it storms forward in a sluggish, heavy step. Anyone may be worried about Songbird, but the hail of bullets that rip across the large expanse of the Viewport. They were specifically aimed towards Jason and Grell, because of his slow speed, it was an inaccurate shot - they have a chance to dodge. ]
Please! Just - just let me be!
[ Elizabeth's pained voice cracks through the eruption of bullet fire, the electricity crackling at both Adelina and Yuno. The two guys find that there's a distinct pattern - left, then right, then center. If they were quick enough to dodge, they'd find themselves easily able to get to Elizabeth's chair, but she's tied down tight and they will most likely get shocked briefly in the process.
You have two options, Yuno and Adelina:
>Unbuckle Elizabeth's arms at the cost of being electrocuted
>Dodge the electricity ]
no subject
given that she has no idea what electricity is, she's moving forward to unbind elizabeth's arms. of course, she would do the same if she knew the danger.]
no subject
sorry, addie for being an irresponsible teen
but then it's time for business. she takes to the wires and tugs at them, trying to rip down the machine itself. if adelina needs help with the binding, she'll go. ]
no subject
Adelina - Yuno! Get out of here -
Electricity cracks down from the conductor of the machine, hitting all three girls. Their bodies tense up, nerves shocked to the point of temporary paralysis from how vicious of a strike it was. The strike lasts for a solid 4 seconds and gives their heart a double beat for a while - a dull pain in the base of their neck. They lose around 20 seconds before they can regain control and luckily, Elizabeth's arms are wiggled free and she's shakily clutching both Adelina and Yuno's wrist in a stupor.
The machine hisses from overuse, an explosion of sparks and static happening against the machine. It's sparking a fire and if one can see the large button with the words "Divert Power", you'll be able to divert power to a second cylinder to avoid any additional explosions.
Do you:
>Remove Elizabeth's ankle bindings
>Tend to the electrical panel
The choice is yours. ]
no subject
once she can move, she's immediately distracted by the machine. she doesn't know anything about technology, though, so she focuses on the ankle bindings.]
Yuno - the fire.
no subject
this time, it's a growl that she lets out as she looks up with wide eyes that betray her anger and frustration. the panel sparks, holding her attention, and her hand burns especially bad, but at adelina's voice, she nods in agreement. the pain will be pushed aside - they don't know what'll happen if that fire is left to fester. ] On it, Adelina.
[ she's running on legs that feel like jelly, but she makes her and stumbles into the panel. her body shakes but slaps a hand over the beginnings of the fire before removing her sweater and smacking it into the panel to tamp it out. if she's successful, she'll immediately hit the large button. ]
no subject
Adelina's successful in getting Elizabeth's legs free - her legs lazily moving, buckling at the knees as she sits up. The main power cord was injected harshly between her shoulders, her body pained as Elizabeth catches her breath.
Yuno does a fair job of putting the fire out - it burns at her sweater, leaving the distinct smell of burnt flesh and fabric. Yuck. The large button causes the machine to halt momentarily before surge of electricity begins to fill the second cylinder at its center. There's no electricity to contend with, the expel of steam heating the area - wonder what foreshadowing that was?
The machine is still connected to Elizabeth, the sparks visible dancing around the wound on her back. The girls must decide:
>Pull the cord from Elizabeth's back
>Try and destroy the machine
One will cause an unimaginable amount of pain, but it is the quickest way, the other will leave Elizabeth vulnerable and tethered as the heat in the room continues to grow as they attack the power source with four distinctive metal pipes latching to the control panel. ]
no subject
Don't worry. We're getting you out of this.
[she doesn't know much about machines, but she's learned enough about them that she moves to try to pull the plug out.]
no subject
as addie is pulling the plug, hopefully removing the thing from elizabeth's back, yuno regroups with the two of them. she isn't chained down now, within cradles she is capable of using her abilities. adelina has a sword and is capable, but yuno's unarmed at the moment, so the person they'll have to rely on is clear. her voice cracks, but yuno is persistent. ]
I'll carry her! We need to come back for this, it's steaming a lot. Elizabeth has to be left somewhere - where's safest, can you tell? [ her eyes are still watering from the surge of heat. ]
no subject
The heat begins to billow mainly through the top of the room, giving Yuno some reprieve from her pain.
While Jason and Grell battle the inevitable two motorized patriots, they'd hear something else rumbling. No, despite Songbird cracking at the glass with it's powerful, grasping clutch - it's ...above them?
The heat in the room was nothing for what crashes through the ceiling, a metal man standing over 7 ft tall crashes next to the girls. The machine in the background that once powered Elizabeth hisses to a stop and instead, the grunts of the Handyman looms towards the two girls.
Adelina finally pulls the plug out with Elizabeth sobbing, the wound tender but she tries - Elizabeth tries so hard to stumble out of her chair to her feet to assist the girls. ]
Don't - you have to find your own safety... they want me. They're trying to stop -
[ She's caught off guard, the dramatic thump of the Handyman's heart was heard - as if amplified. The two can guess that the weakest spot in the man was the exposed heart hidden only by glass. They can see it pump blood to the once normal man, instead fueling his part robotic body. He leaps forward, quick enough with a grasp of Adelina's hair. It's large hand having no problem with roughness, almost enough to pull it from the root. It dangles her easily four feet off the ground with Elizabeth screaming in surprise and pure shock. ]
1/2
Get her out of—
[but then it moves, faster than she'd expected, and she's caught. her legs, still feeling weak and strange from the electricity earlier, kick around uselessly searching for the ground. thrown off guard by the enemy's sudden action and the pain, she tries nonetheless to focus. the heart - too far for her to reach for certain. his arm... can a machine feel pain? would it release her?]
no subject
drawing her sword again, she slices just underneath the thing's hand, cutting off roughly a foot of her hair and falling several feet to the ground. she only takes a moment to recover before trying to stand up again, resisting the urge to bring a hand to her head. to yuno:]
Take her and - get her out of the viewport!
no subject
and then she yells to get liz somewhere safe.
so, to elizabeth, yuno shouts something that means far, far more to her now than it did when her own life had been saved. ] Moving is for people who aren't injured! Let's go!
[ she's grabbed and balanced in such a way that she's forced to cling to yuno's back - she won't allow anything else. in this space, she feels it; she can alter things just enough that carrying elizabeth is an easy feat. this is how yuno elects to use her powers, apparently.
her legs are weak but if she focuses, then it's fine.
...but as she's making her way from the machine, she gives one hard surge of energy toward the thing that had attacked adelina. she doesn't know if she has enough power to push it away more than a few feet, but even that can hopefully buy the other time. ]

The lightsaber activates with the usual sound, the area immediately around him cast in green hues to contrast the red of their "friend" outside the viewport. He can't say he's ever fought a robot with a turret before, but. There's a first time for everything, and he's trying to catch Grell's eyes as they both presumably dodge. Time for some teamwork, pal.]
no subject
the thing is slow enough that they could try and catch it on the back, but literally disarming it might also be a good bet. maybe there's enough time to stab it, too.]
no subject
[ The large thud of the mechanical machine draws closer. They both dodge successfully, only seeing the spray of bullets hit the wall behind them. Poor ol' George is not as smart as his likeness, but the machine is persistent, showing no fear at Jason's weapon activation.
Songbird screeches a mechanical noise, pounding desperately on the window, enough to shake the room slightly. Its neck twitches around, curiously like a bird at the scene unfolding inside.
The motorized patriot stops momentarily as the bullets in it's peppermill gun grows empty. It begins to reload. It's a slow process, not as effective as the ones in Columbia, but these machines do the job. Now is the opening for striking. ]
no subject
[Completely deadpan, despite the current situation. Having Grell's attention, he gestures for her to go from behind. Stab it. Decapitate it. Split it in half. Whatever she wants to do, he doesn't care. He'll keep it from reloading the gun by coming at it from up front, aiming to literally disarm it. Good ol' George Washington might be slow, but they don't need any bullets hitting the windows when there's already a gigantic bird slamming its fists into it.
Better deal with this as quickly as possible.]
no subject
sparks fly, but Grell doesn't relent, the divine blade ripping through metal and clockwork and whatever else powers this unholy thing, until either she's hit or it falls into two heavy pieces. whatever comes first.]
no subject
How shall we escape if we refuse salvation?
[ Grell has the perfect opportunity. Even among the sudden sparks and mechanical screeching of the machine, Jason gets to see George Washington split in two. But? Why was this machine so valued in Columbia? Resilience. Even as it was getting sawed in half, it was able to stand for its programmed moral. It focuses on Jason, the last few bullets beginning to enter the crankgun before it fires again - they miss Jason, barely nicking at his bicep as he swings. The resilience of the machine proves no match for the sudden whir of Jason's weapon, it slices at his hand (doesn't that feel good to not be on the receiving end coughcoughJackcoughcough)? It's a clean cut and with both of them celebrating the victory of 1: machine gun that can be used if picked up and 2: split dead president, they'd hear another whistle.
...And instead of George Washington, a mechanical and outrageous Abraham Lincoln patriot joins the fray. ]
The tree of Liberty must be watered with blood.
[ So, it's pretty much the same thing but a lot more gross looking - it's mask decaying further with animalistic horns sticking from the tophat.
A few moments after - both Yuno and Adelina are dealing with Handyman with Elizabeth now freed and the machine shut down. You guys won't have to worry about that just yet... ]
no subject
But for now—]
You're kidding me. Who comes up with these guys?!
[And, yeah. Their last move worked out well, so he's gesturing at Grell for an encore once they have an opening. Better dispatch this guy are quickly as possible so they can join the other girls.]
no subject
[that's about all she gets out before they have to dodge around again. this time she indicates that he should go for the back strike, while she'll risk the front to cut off the arm with the gun. as soon as its bullets empty and it has to reload, she moves to do just that and cut through so neither Jason nor the girls will get shot. if a bullet grazes her, she's too up on adrenaline to notice.]
no subject
The turret revs, smoking with the speed of the bullets as they fly. Grell would either have to take a few bullets to her torso/hip or nearly fall on her own weapon to dodge it. Take that as you will. But, she's successfully quick enough to motion to Jason before it starts to charge. It stops shooting, focusing on Grell and giving Jason the opportunity for a delicious strike from the back. ]
Remember those who died for our cause! The revolution is at hand!
no subject
[But since Grell is going for a frontal assault, he will waste no time going around the machine's back and swinging his sword at it. Much like Georgebot, Jason is aiming to cut it in half. Judging from the other one's resilience, he gets the feeling it'd keep going if it was decapitated or otherwise disabled.]
no subject
with luck, they'll have the arm off and the creation in half before it can really start shooting again.]
