WEEK 13

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (13)

monday - thursday

(10) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find that the ship is still in disarray; there is no robot prepared breakfast, nor has any of the damage been repaired. The ship bears power in the rooms you have decided should have power, though the lights are dim. Without Alice, you are all on your own. The ominous pressure of the Queen Mother still looms, though you no longer feel Her presence.

[She gets a small smile for her efforts. It's okay, murder-mom. Rest-time for now.]

That's pretty much how I feel, too. I don't like the idea of just accepting a fate when we can easily fight for our own. What else do we have to lose when we've already lost everything else? Besides, if we went into our cradles we wouldn't be with everyone anyway and...the Nuwa's still important. Sorry. It just is.

[there is no rest, only nightmares and plotting how to not die in a dream box.]

No one's going to argue with you on that. It still has living souls. [even if she knows they don't want all those souls to be living.] And sleeping in the cradles doesn't solve anything. It doesn't...save anything.

[it means accepting being alone, even if everything lied and said you weren't.]

At least we can make the attempt. One last charge forward, and if we fail, we do so without regrets. So, what can we do in the time before then?

Break the cradles and organize groups. Before breaking the cradles, Sunny suggested we at least experience them because the queen has the ability to not only hit us with nightmares but also hit us with good dreams, too. Like a siren...she'll show us the best scenario to throw us off-guard. I don't want to let anybody fall to that. Sunny also said she can help us protect the ship but maybe we should figure out other ways to start cleaning up the disaster around here. We're gonna need to pool all resources.

[she knows what those good dreams might feel like. they were woven into some of those nightmares. but she nods and tries to think of what next. there's little they can do about broken doors except salvage them from other locations on the ship, and none of them had found anything like a way to extend the barrier around their bodies around the ship.]

If I can help...tell me where I need to be. We've always been decent at scheduling.

[it's clear she isn't happy about the idea of going in the cradles, but she doesn't say anything in objection. if it's the only way, she'll put it off until the last second.]

Some people might be more willing to listen to you than me right now. How would you feel about being one of my second in command? [It's a joke, but...] We'll need to figure out how to get to the Nuwa and stop anything that gets in our way. That's the main concern right now. Breaking the cradles just gives us a boost and prepares us for whatever's coming when we reach the Queen.

"Anything" like roadblocks the Queen would set up? If you were a unknowable horror beast, how would you stop a spaceship?
chiseler: (tell me)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-09-01 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd send other smaller monsters to distract and wear down my opponents, first of all. The best way to take out an army is to pick off most of its support in early battles. You don't think she'd just stop with her four kids, do you, Grell?
erythristic: (steady.)

[personal profile] erythristic 2016-09-01 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course not. That's because they're her children.

[she folds her arms, and while she doesn't want to think of a ghastly being as bearing great love for their parasitic vermin children, it was likely so.]

So, smaller beings to weaken us. That's easily solved if we have something like a vanguard to draw their ire. Anyone that can endure through them - I know I could, if the assault's physical. Could you?

[injuries don't matter. people like the mages needed to conserve their strength for the Queen herself.]

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-09-02 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I probably could. I've fought bigger things before...it's just a matter of figuring out who else we can send in as a vanguard and who's leading them.
erythristic: (indifference.)

[personal profile] erythristic 2016-09-02 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure we can get some recruits from our deceased if by some miracle they're able to come into combat with us.

[if not...this plan sounds more insane by the minute.]
