WEEK 11

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (11)

monday - thursday

(14) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

[Clover definitely takes the datapad so she can look through the file, but her expression scrunches up seeing that big old ACCESS DENIED. So much for that. Scrolling and tapping back and forth isn't getting her anywhere, so she passes it back. But...]

...How long did you know about Elizabeth?

[Look inadvisably or otherwise she's been #teamjack for an unfortunately long time but not sure if she's mad or upset or frustrated or just way more intensely out for blood than usual yet??]

[ The question gets Jack's expression to drop, though it shifts from frustrated and defensive to something softer, and his tone matches. ]

Soon as we found out Hancock had a role. That's a big threat to the Sou- Ah, screw it, the Soul Foods, their name is friggin' dumb as shit. But... Yeah, soon as that came up, I knew. Knew she did it, knew she genuinely didn't remember a thing about it.

[ He pauses, then adds: ]

And, to be honest? I had no idea they could even be saved. Wasn't mentioned. Don't know if the Captain even knew. If I'd known, I wouldn't have tried to poison her. But at the time? Was the only way I knew to make sure to take down one of 'em. [ He shrugs ] Dunno how much it'll mean now, but I apologized to her for that.

[Clover makes a face, because Liz was absolutely not the person she gave a shit about in this equation, pretty much nothing he says after that first sentence matters to her at all, oops. The point, as far as she's concerned, is that he only figured it out after the trial began, after there were deaths to hold a trial for. Her brother couldn't have been saved this way, either.]

...Just wondering.

[The thing she decides on feeling is an extra undercurrent of alien-directed murderous rage underneath her usual level of misery.]

What makes the roles such big threats?

[ The reason why she was asking seems to dawn on him as something physical, since his tense posture relaxes with a brief look of surprise. His expression is briefly apologetic, but he doesn't say anything to it. He just shakes his head and answers the question more simply. ]

Simple enough. They're players with an extra advantage, or they can provide one. I mean, look at how shit we've been since we lost Hancock giving us stuff to help out? You take away the roles, you've got a pretty good chance of crippling the rest of us.

[ He shrugs ]

They work slow. Smart. Dunno what they're really trying to do here, but at this point? Kinda guessing that they just want to be the last ones standing.

[If he hadn't figured it out when she asked, she didn't think he would at all, so her eyebrows knit together like she's curious at the belated reaction, but it isn't worth addressing. This is, if only barely, easier to talk about, anyway.]

Yeah, but...why? Do you really think they wanna clear us out just 'cause? [She doesn't sound especially doubtful, because again, #teamjack and the mistake of more or less trusting his judgement—if nothing else, he definitely knows more about the situation than the rest of them, so when it comes to this, why shouldn't she?—but experience tells her there should be some grander purpose than destruction for its sake.]
