... Jack, is that—
[He's not even going to finish that sentence, because it's a stupid sentence. So don't mind him as he just. Takes a second to. Stare. And briefly freeze up like a complete novice.]
no subject
Jack's gleeful expression is gone in an instant and replaced by one that's very flat and oddly neutral for such an animated person like him, but where Jason is frozen for the moment, Jack starts to walk forward. His steps are slow and almost measured, but his eyes never leave Elizabeth as she floats further into view. ]
...Huh.
[ It's oddly dispassionate, like Jack has only stumbled across something minutely interesting. He stops just short of the window, and he'll look up at her to see if there's anything of note that's immediately obvious, but he'll really only be paying attention to things that are very apparent. ]

...there are a lot of mixed emotions here, and he's watching both of them out of the corner of his eye.]
How did she...? [How did she get out there? He's going to press harder against the window to see if he can see directly down or anything for some kind of hole in the ship or something.]
no subject
[He's forcing himself to react here, walking towards the window to join both Jack and Luke. His expression is blank and his tone falls severely short of any attempted jokes, but. But. This is fine. Just deal with it like any other dead body. Business as usual, right?Right.]
The airlock— It's locked. There's no way it could have been opened, right?
[They ship isn't breaking down and Elizabeth is the only body he sees out there, so it seems unlikely for there to be a hole somewhere. At least, that's what he thinks? A hole on the ship would suck everyone right out to space, wouldn't it? He doesn't know. He needs stop being an idiot. Needs to think rationally.]

Hey, Alice.
[ His voice is very calm, if nothing else. ]
Need your help here. Can you bring Liz back on-board for us?
no subject
[ fliers anyone ]
no subject
"airlock. bring ur mom"]
I'd rather it be someone we know we can trust not to just take the body away immediately. C'mon. Let's head for the airlock. [And presumably meet up with homestucks]

coming into view with his mom in tow, dave raises one hand and frowns at the three guys inside. ]
What's up? I brought mom like you asked but why'd you need us over here? The murder scene's like, that-a-way.
[ he gestures where they'd come from, so. apparently the lower deck crew has found some stuff. :c rip totty ]
no subject
Clearly Luke just missed our company.
[ why else?? ]
no subject
Yeah, well. Looks like we have a two for one special today. [He sounds very calm, at least.] Elizabeth's outside. We're hoping you could fetch her for us, or — whatever.
[Vaguely... shrugs... Just do your thing, kids. It's not like the three of them can survive outside in space.]
no subject
Who's the other?
no subject
I'd like to know the same thing. But also...I know both of you can fly. Think you can sustain yourself out in space for a little bit? [Look he knows Sburb's a weird game and that they both have weird-ass powers, it's a Thought.]
no subject
[ dave's expression had gone from curious to dead serious at elizabeth's name. she liked pizza? a stupid amount? and everyone liked liz. except, like, clover. shit. ]
Fuck. [ but, responding to luke with a half shrug: ] Normally? Yes. We've both been hella nerfed, though, so idk if our space-breathing is still a thing. Mom, I'll go out first, you go second only if I don't, like, implode.
[ dave...that's so reckless? he pauses. ]
Imma assume you asked Alice to open the airlock or something? Anyway, I guess we'll have to go in alone for this part. Give us a few.
[ PRESUMABLY ROXY WILL ARGUE DAVE GOING FIRST but whatever after her tag assume the homestucks put themselves in the airlock room and shut the door so they can like
fly out into space and retrieve a dead body shit this is a terrible bonding experience why doesn't luke ever invite them on nice bonding experiences ]
no subject
[ understatement. poor elizabeth? and poor jason, a widower after like. half a week. god. ]
I'm sure it's fine, Dave. [ insert arguing and INTO THE AIRLOCK THEY GO
and fly into space to retrieve a dead body. they have a lovely conversation. roxy wonders aloud if jason and elizabeth consummated their marriage. they fly elizabeth back into the ship to be examined by her husband, father, and... brother? yeah ok luke is now elizabeth's brother. this is now the narrative.
continue on. ]

Once they get back, Alice speaks to them in the airlock. ]
Before I allow you back into the ship, I would like the two of you to hit the button in the corner. It will release a harmless cleansing foam that will dissolve quickly.
[ And you can assume once they do that they enter the ship at large again. There's no residue leftover from the foam at all.
Once they get a chance to look, they'll notice a large amount of blood dried and frozen to Elizabeth's head. It's pretty matted. ]
no subject
He'll be carefully examining Elizabeth's head once they're able to look at her corpse. Where the heckie is all that blood coming from? Important questions they need answers to.]
You said Totty was found in the cold storage. Did he... what, freeze to death?
