[And while he'd been about to remark and make a joke about a body in space, now that there's an actual body in space he's a little more mute. He's staring at Elizabeth's floating form, watching her drift further and further from the ship and his eyes are wide even as he leans his forward against the window.

...there are a lot of mixed emotions here, and he's watching both of them out of the corner of his eye.]

How did she...? [How did she get out there? He's going to press harder against the window to see if he can see directly down or anything for some kind of hole in the ship or something.]

... That's the million dollar question, isn't it?

[He's forcing himself to react here, walking towards the window to join both Jack and Luke. His expression is blank and his tone falls severely short of any attempted jokes, but. But. This is fine. Just deal with it like any other dead body. Business as usual, right?Right.]

The airlock— It's locked. There's no way it could have been opened, right?

[They ship isn't breaking down and Elizabeth is the only body he sees out there, so it seems unlikely for there to be a hole somewhere. At least, that's what he thinks? A hole on the ship would suck everyone right out to space, wouldn't it? He doesn't know. He needs stop being an idiot. Needs to think rationally.]

[ Jack shrugs to their questions, and he instead turns his attention away from the window, at least for now. He looks generally sort of up at the ceiling. ]

Hey, Alice.

[ His voice is very calm, if nothing else. ]

Need your help here. Can you bring Liz back on-board for us?

Hello, Jack. I will permit the airlock to be opened so that one unit can retrieve Elizabeth's body. If you would like, one of you may do the honors, if you are capable.

[ "soon" is more like "after 9:40 sometime when he meets up with jessie with adrien in tow" since he has to add in "locate mom" in the list somewhere beyond replying straight away. he figures it has to be important if it's that to the point and therefore gathers roxy from wherever she is (the bio lab?) and heads towards the airlock. he and adrien hadn't really checked it earlier since it's, you know, SUPPOSEDLY LOCKED. squints.

[Yeah. For once Jason isn't going to crack any jokes at Luke's expense. This is already weird, considering he was making dick jokes about Machias's blown apart body last week. Oh, well. He's gesturing towards airlock in turn.]

Yeah, well. Looks like we have a two for one special today. [He sounds very calm, at least.] Elizabeth's outside. We're hoping you could fetch her for us, or — whatever.

[Vaguely... shrugs... Just do your thing, kids. It's not like the three of them can survive outside in space.]

[ Jack's arms are crossed pretty tightly when they enter, but at what Dave says, he does raise an eyebrow in light surprise. ]

[He looks pretty surprised too because nobody mentioned a second murder. This isn't boding well at all and there's an uncomfortable shift even as he cracks a small, grim smile at Roxy. Very funny, Lalonde.]

I'd like to know the same thing. But also...I know both of you can fly. Think you can sustain yourself out in space for a little bit? [Look he knows Sburb's a weird game and that they both have weird-ass powers, it's a Thought.]

[ dave's expression had gone from curious to dead serious at elizabeth's name. she liked pizza? a stupid amount? and everyone liked liz. except, like, clover. shit. ]

Imma assume you asked Alice to open the airlock or something? Anyway, I guess we'll have to go in alone for this part. Give us a few.

[ PRESUMABLY ROXY WILL ARGUE DAVE GOING FIRST but whatever after her tag assume the homestucks put themselves in the airlock room and shut the door so they can like

[ Space is very cold. But because homestucks are OP it's completely fine. They have to go a considerable distance to get to Elizabeth, but once they get her, she doesn't exactly protest in coming with them. Because she's dead and all.

Once they get back, Alice speaks to them in the airlock. ]

Before I allow you back into the ship, I would like the two of you to hit the button in the corner. It will release a harmless cleansing foam that will dissolve quickly.

[ And you can assume once they do that they enter the ship at large again. There's no residue leftover from the foam at all.

Once they get a chance to look, they'll notice a large amount of blood dried and frozen to Elizabeth's head. It's pretty matted. ]

[LOOK. THEIR MARRIAGE WAS A SHAM. LET'S NOT MENTION IT AGAIN??? Also Luke is a shitty brother and Jack an even shittier father. Let's not.

He'll be carefully examining Elizabeth's head once they're able to look at her corpse. Where the heckie is all that blood coming from? Important questions they need answers to.]

You said Totty was found in the cold storage. Did he... what, freeze to death?

[ The blood can be traced to a gash on the top of Elizabeth's head. There's a lot of blood to sort through, though. Her blouse and even part of her skirt is stained with blood. ]
