I found a cure to a sickness that killed hundreds, even thousands a year. If there was a possibility it was true, that she could take this away, how could I go home knowing that I had every opportunity to act and instead did nothing?

[chiseler]

Because you could go home in confidence that you'd be able to do it again. If we went home knowing everything we know here, we'd be wiser and better and able to fix it. And anyway it's still saying that there's the possibility it was true. When have Alice's motives ever been true?

[He inhales deeply.] ...I don't know if I can forgive this. But I think I can understand. Doesn't make it better, but. [A shrug.] Do you regret it?

It was part of a prophecy that hadn't been fulfilled for hundreds of years. I don't know when the circumstances necessary would have occurred again.

No. Someone could have done so again, but I don't know how long it would take. It took hundreds of years before it was fulfilled the first time. Hundreds of thousands of people had died.
