friday (?) survivors Friday comes, and with it, another alarm. At 2:30am, a rather mellow song starts up. You might be able to avoid it, up until the mid-way point, where the noise suddenly sets in, as the performer promises at the beginning. [Sorry to all of you looking forward to a nice night of undisturbed sleep before murder happens, because it's about to get rough.

A little after 2AM, the thunderous sound of an explosion going off on the lower floor booms through the ship, far more than loud enough to startle even the deepest sleepers awake. As if that wasn't enough, the force is so strong that the floor of every bedroom trembles with the impact like a minor earthquake. About half a minute later, another explosion can be heard, though the sound isn't quite the same; this one's a sharp crack rather than a deep boom. It's also not as loud as the first and won't shake the floors again. ]

[okay well he's just going to slam his door open after having literally fallen out of bed]

You ASSHOLE! It's two in the morning - go the fuck to sleep!

[SLAMMING THE DOOR BACK SHUT. Fuck you guys, he's not getting up for this shit.]

SOMEONE IS GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!

[And, of course, out of room #37 comes Jessie. She's wearing a Pikachu onesie because Alice hates her and her lifestyle, apparently.]

Who interrupted my beauty sleep!? Everyone, get moving!

[But you know, her room is awfully close to the elevator, so she's going to stomp over to it. Who the fuck is coming with her.]

[Well. This sure is a thing that's happening.

Jason is clad in nothing but his pajamas, a hoodie and a pair of socks. There's a shiny new eyepatch awkwardly tied around his head, and he seems to be shoving a walkie talkie into his pocket, almost like he just finished using it. The lightsaber hilt will be clutched in his other hand as he approaches the elevator, wary.]

Quiet down. There's already enough noise as it is. [STOP THIS, JESSIE??? Anyway—] Is the elevator stable? That was a big fucking boom, if you ask me.

A'right, I'm up. I'm up.

[ leans against a wall. falls back asleep. she is not up. ]

[speaking of idiots in pajamas with laser weapons: Clover, in a really big sweater, carrying the laser scythe, now here and looking tired and way less surprised than a person should about this kind of thing?? she's still waking up]

Aren't you supposed to use the stairs in an emergency? [there aren't any stairs. she hasn't had her coffee yet]

[Jason and Clover are her company, huh? Both are well-equipped, it seems, so she shakes her head as a sleepy Arbok slithers closer to the elevator doors.]

Arbok! You stay with Todomatsu.

[And, as soon as Jason and Clover are close to the elevator, well. There's really only one way to do this.

She shoves both of them in.]

This is no time to be asking that! Alice! We're going down!

[And in they go???]

[There's nothing in the elevator itself. Once they get off it onto the lower deck, they'll notice in that hallway that there's a blood trail going between the doors of the zero gravity room and the airlock. Both doors are currently shut.

Which do they pick?]

Well... That's not a bad sign at all.

[He's frowning at the trail of blood, already bracing himself for the worst. He makes sure Clover and Jessie are behind him before he gestures towards the Zero Gravity Room.]

We might as well make sure nobody stuck a corpse to the ceiling.

[It's said like a joke, but... Onwards?]

[ So after Jason yelling at him over the walkie-talkie, Jack is also heading out of his room, but of course, he's muttering (probably where Jason can hear it): ]

Kinda heard the goddamn explosion, dickhole. You ever heard screeching interference over these things? God...

[ It seems like Jack might have just woken up, but no, he just probably had his eardrums burst, so he's grumpy. ANYWAYS. He's going to head to the airlock, but before opening that sucker up, let's check it out. Jack is definitely the resident airlock expert, having murdered many, many people with them. Naturally. Considering the explosion, however, he's going to be fairly cautious and first make sure he's not going to be like, vented into space or something. ]

[Anybody who can go to sleep after that explosion is a better man than Luke is. He'd checked out some things before heading down and without even thinking he follows after Jack to the airlock, coming up behind him to also glance around. There sure was blood leading here so that's something.]

So. There goes the chapel theory. [Hey Jack.] What've we got here…?

[Clover definitely yelps when Jessie just SHOVES HER INTO THE ELEVATOR, all right okay she's awake now!!! and if Jason's determined to take the lead then she's going to at least make sure she's in front of Jessie, scythe in front of her now instead of just kinda chillin at her side, partially because she likes Arbok enough to notice his absence even though she's half asleep. No sassy commentary on the way in, though.]

...Did somebody leave?

[okay, maybe it's not the most helpful comment, but considering the hour you can't really expect people firing on all cylinders, can you??]

I thought the airlock didn't work.

[Jason better hang on tight to the handle or door frame when he opens the door, because if he doesn't, he's going to go floating straight up towards the ceiling. Looks like the zero-G's been turned on!

This wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for all the dismembered limbs, chunks of torso, entrails and blood also floating and pinwheeling around near the top the room. Have fun!]

BODY ANNOUNCEMENT - 2:19 AM

[Everyone's datapads suddenly begin vibrating and emitting a loud and harsh beeping sound at once. AL-2955's voice echoes throughout the ship.]

A body has been found. The investigation has begun.

[Once she sees the blood trail, Jessie rips off her kigurumi to reveal she's still wearing all of her Rocket clothes underneath. This begs two questions. Why did Alice give her a tearaway onesie, and how long has she been wearing the outfit underneath? These are questions best saved for another date, because as she moves into the room and starts to lift herself, she shoves Jason higher as she hurriedly grabs onto the door.]

Jason, what do you think you're doing?!

[ The airlock, in fact, doesn't work, but that didn't stop someone from having a fun time in it nevertheless. As soon as the airlock is opened, it's clear to see a big lump lying right at the entrance, lying on its back. The form is feminine, and it doesn't take closer inspection to realize she's pretty young.

[ Well, that pretty much immediately catches Jack's attention here, obviously! Once he's sure the airlock is safe enough to step inside, he'll do so and go check out whoever is lying in the corner to see who it is. ]

[Yeah. No. He's still not used to having no depth perception, so he's narrowly missing the door frame when he moves to grab it. Jessie shoving him doesn't help at all, so. You know. It's practically tradition at this point for shit to happen to him.

Up, up, up he goes — until he's floating towards the ceiling and joining all the limbs and guts hanging out up there.]

Aw, fuck.

[How eloquent. He's just going to try to find the head while he's up here, or maybe some sort of identifying mark listed on the profile cards. Guess getting covered in gore is his destiny now.]

Could someone turn the gravity back on? Preferably without, y'know, letting me plummet to the ground face-first.

BODY ANNOUNCEMENT - 2:21 AM

[Everyone's datapads suddenly begin vibrating and emitting a loud and harsh beeping sound at once. AL-2955's voice echoes throughout the ship.]

A body has been found. The investigation has begun.

[Great. One of the girls, so that's not okay. While Jack's checking out the body he nods to Totty in greeting before also stepping into the airlock. There's nothing else immediate is there? He's also glancing at the body and Jack out of the corner of his eye just in case.]

...seems a little weirdly obvious, don't you think?

[tentatively also entering the airlock despite that seeming like thriller 101 on how to get trapped inside a room, but--yeah, not getting too far in just in case. also, body?]

You think the blood led here for a reason? [right, also] --Is she okay?

[SHE IS DEFINITELY AWAKE NOW and holding the handle of the scythe out to keep Jessie from going forward enough to pull a Jason and end up floating around in a cloud of gore. There...there he goes. She is not following him. The console is all the way over theeeere...]

Holy shit. [And then, calling up to Jason:] Um—lemme know when you're ready to land ass-first instead? [Clover just lower the gravity gradually it's not hard???] Eeewww, it's all gonna fall with hiiimmm...

[The first thing Jason will notice while stuck up there is that there's an enormous scorchmark on the ceiling. In the center of the scorchmark, the ceiling panels have been dented enough to form a crater.

The second thing he'll notice will literally bump straight into his face as they both float around up there. Oh. It's a head with green hair.

Machias Regnitz is dead.]

Jason Todd, neither of us are letting you down until you finish looking for things! That's how investigations work! Probably.

[But alright. Since she's an action girl, she's going to try and push off from the door now. Is there anything along the floor or walls that she can use to pull herself to the panel in the middle of the room? If not, she's going to have to get to a wall and...kick towards, it right? tl;dr does Jessie make it to the panel.]
