WEEK 1

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (1)

tuesday - thursday

(41) survivors

Yesterday's revelation weighs heavily on your mind — or perhaps it's barely crossed it. Either way, you have to admit that the atmosphere of the ship has changed dramatically. Now that everyone has had a night's rest (or perhaps no sleep at all, despite the newfound hospitality), a change of clothes, and their newly acquired possessions back. Despite the dark turn of events, the ship is quite bright now, seemingly bubbling with life — mechanical life, that is. The cafeteria robot was busy all night preparing an illustrious breakfast for everyone, so anyone who enters the cafeteria on Tuesday morning will find platters of food laid out across the many tables, hot and ready to eat.

Other than that, the ship seems mostly the same as it was before. The same areas are still restricted, such as the large room looming in the center of the ship as well as the elevator that never comes no matter how many times you may press the up or down buttons. It seems you must make the most of your dire situation, and watch your back for daggers all the while.

Haha, thanks! Told ya I clean up well.

[He never actually said that, but he'll act like it to boast.]

And fashion crime is just one thing they were. More importantly, they were the clothes of prisoners. And we aren't prisoners.

Well said! Many are going to disagree and say that is a naive thing to say, but I fully agree. As long as we have control of our own fate we won't be prisoners!

[...what Hancock said wasn't naive, but at least it wasn't as cheesy as what Shelley just spouted]

...okay, we don't have full control of our fate but you get the point.

[Yeah definitely cheesy, he was going more for defiant, but he likes her spirit.]

We got plenty of control. For starters, we can control whether or not we take part in their fucking experiment. All we gotta do is not stab someone - a difficult thing, I know, but I believe in us.

[He knows he will need to hold back his urge to shank a fucker, but hey. That's life. Sometimes you gotta put down the knife and concede. Not his favorite route, but there's more at stake here than himself.]
tacklefordwhimsy: I think that is no good. (Erin?)

Oh, I won't have any problems not taking part in all this, and I'm sure at least half of the people here don't have the malice to hurt anyone.

Besides, if push comes to shove, I'm sure everyone is capable of defending themselves. Even the youngest people around know self-defense and have weapons! It shouldn't be too hard for everyone to stay alive no matter what.

[There! Following someone's tip about not telling others that there are a few who are vulnerable]

Yeah, well, that isn't enough for me. Being able to defend yourself don't mean shit if someone drops in on your room like Mr. Sandman and sticks a dagger in you.

[People shouldn't have to live in fear like that. World is bad enough without that fear. Life is hard enough without that extra slice of bullshit.]

If some fucker kills here, you better believe they'll be the next to die.

...it's hard not to believe it when you say it like that.

[But it'd be real swell if you don't kill anyone, Hancock, even if it is a culprit]

Of course there's the matter of the trial first. I don't expect it to be easy, but it shouldn't be that much of a problem when there are forty people working to solve a crime. I can't see how anyone can expect to get away with murder in these conditions.
