WEEK 8

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (8)

monday - thursday

(23) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

chiseler: (what's worth forgiving?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-27 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible. We've been here for two months and I'm still not entirely sure this is all real. [He waves a hand.] Space and all that. Maybe Alice is just tricking us with all of this.
todorable: (oh my)

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-27 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
You think...we're the fake people? Is that why we're purple in that UV scanner or whatever?
chiseler: (too heavy to hold my own evaporatin soul)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-27 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know about that. But do you really think we were locked in those pods for maybe 900 years? What if the game's fake?
todorable: (this cannot be happening)

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-27 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
What do you mean, 'fake'? Somebody's having fun with all this, though it's not us. ...You think we've been stuck here for way longer than we've really been stuck here?
chiseler: (I am sick of listening)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-28 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
No, Todomatsu. I think we've been here for way less than we've supposedly been stuck here. [He argued with Adam about this a while ago and he's still fixated on it.] Wouldn't that make more sense?
todorable: (beanie)

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-28 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
...That it hasn't actually been two months and they're just messing with our conceptions of time?

[radical 6, why] [okay no, he doesn't see how it makes more sense, but sure, let's think about it]

So how are we supposed to check that, if watches and internal clocks are thrown off? Check nail growth? Have you been getting a 5 o'clock shadow at 2 or anything?
chiseler: (and you're feeling so left behind)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-28 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
That's where it gets complicated. [Without any real concept of day and night he can't exactly speculate if a full twenty four hours is passing.] Alice seems to keep telling us we're in the year 29-something. [Why bother remembering the actual year?] I don't know about you but if two months seems like a stretch I think that many years is worse.

I'd say we find something that can grow...like a plant or something. But the garden seems pretty self-sufficient.
todorable: (death is better)

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-28 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
29-something... My boss is gonna be so pissed...

[ahah like he gives a shit about working. everyone else he knows, though...

...better to move on]

Uh, a bean, maybe? It should grow in a glass. So even if there's something weird in the dirt, it wouldn't affect it. ...Right?
chiseler: (nothing more to say)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-29 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
At least you've got a good excuse. "Sorry I'm late, I was trying not to get murdered." [He shakes his head.] I wouldn't think so, but I'm not really a plants expert. That's not a bad idea though. Think we could find something from the garden we can dig up and grow ourselves outside of it?
todorable: (hey man)

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-29 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
In that case, I hope Alice provides a written excuse.

Anyway, I think the garden's worth a shot. There's got to be some root vegetable that'd grow in a dark cabinet or something. And even if it doesn't work, it's not like we're any worse off than we are now.
chiseler: (hit 'em right between the eyes)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-29 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe we could find a potato or something. Those things last forever and show signs of growth. [Also they can grow to be kinda heavy and would make for a great projectile weapon if necessarily.] That shovel should be back in the garden by now. Wanna take a look?

[He's already moving to put the Keyblade away even though his movements are slow like he doesn't want to stop playing with it yet.]

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-29 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
[it's okay, he can still have dibs on sora for the cradle cosplay contest]

Yeah, let's do some farming. If any robots ask, we're just dedicated to making the perfect french fries.

[he waits for Luke to be ready so they can mosey to real life harvest moon, he is actually pretty excited about this]

I wonder how this stuff grows up here, anyway... Don't most space stories have hydroponics and weird space stuff, not actual dirt?
chiseler: (with a signal that's out of range)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-29 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
Somehow I think they'll buy that. [What a pal. Still, the Keyblade's gone and off they go on their magical adventure and what the hell does Luke know about farming? Not much! Still, they have a short distance to get up to the main deck of the ship to the garden, so he ponders on that.]

I've been wondering the same thing myself. Last time I checked plants need dirt, water and natural light. Nothing about this spaceship is natural but we know the plants are real. Who's taking care of these things, Alice? That makes even less sense. [...] And what's a hydroponic?
todorable: (i am disappoint)

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-29 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Totty planted like a sunflower or something in elementary school, and also helped raise the class hamster. So yeah, he's ready]

Sure, maybe Alice was like "yeah, while I do want to run a perverse mindgame where folks are killed and possibly eaten, it's also important that I keep my green thumb up to snuff. Honestly, why is there any of this stuff? A library, with stuff from home? A daycare? A pool, which can't possibly be efficient to run in space. ...Maybe it's the aliens.

Hydroponics are like, a way to grow stuff with artificial light and little to no soil...I think. I've mostly seen it in American dramas about people growing drugs in their basements. ...Guess Todd could've come in handy after all.
chiseler: (and no one even knew)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-30 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Jessie and I have kind of been wondering the same thing, but I don't think the aliens are going swimming anytime soon. That just seems way too unreal even for this place. [And into the elevator they go to head up a floor and such.] Never heard of 'em, but I think the last thing we need on the ship is drugs, too.

[He never thought much of Todd in the first place, but that really sounds like a bad idea.] We know poisonous plants are growing there because of the ivy. Maybe everything that's here really is just a subtle way to kill us.
todorable: (hey man)

[personal profile] todorable 2016-07-30 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
See, at this point, there's nothing I don't expect. Swimming aliens? Sure. Mysterious vent eggs? No problem. Maybe there's some weird chemical in the air, and we already are being drugged. That'd explain why people are being so dumb all the time.
chiseler: (with a signal that's out of range)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-31 09:18 am (UTC)(link)
I mean before Harold died she was trying to explain to be about frequencies we could be suffering under and that's why a bunch of people have their powers suppressed. It's not drugging, but maybe something like that. That's what makes me wonder what other senses are being messed with in this place.
