WEEK 8
| the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (8) |
monday - thursday (23) survivors ![]() Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods. (OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.) taken list profiles private conversations setting rulebook murder proposals ENTER COMMAND_ |

{ Arumat's in here, at first messing with the freezers, and then looking over the rest of the place in general. He releases a sigh, a stream of cold breath air materializing as he entertains the idea of wildly slashing the freezers open... but that wouldn't be a good idea.
Honestly, maybe he shouldn't be standing in such a cold place but he made sure to put on the temporary ship uniform before he came into here (look he does laundry okay). In addition, he's not too bothered by the temperature. }
...This is all ridiculous.
{ If someone comes by to step in, he'll fix them a look. }
What are you looking for? There's nothing to find or anything of interest in here.
::engineering dock:: wednesday::
{ Unurprisingly, for the rest of the week, unless Arumat's approaching someone out of his own volition, he's going to be more difficult to speak with or contact. Which might be because he's in here for so many hours on Wednesday-- he'll be looking over the panel and pressing a few buttons that seemingly amounts to nothing given the AI's control.
He'll then be checking out the walkie talkies himself. }
... More old technology with advanced technology.
{ If someone begins to come in, he gets a little bored and turns around to immediately throw a walkie talkie at them. Catch, because he may be thinking of some walkie talkie shenanigans (or not and he just feels like keeping people on their toes). }
::wildcard::
{ If there's some type of scenario you want to do with Arumat or something, let me know! }
engineering dock
It's not. He smiles and starts playing with it to turn it on. ] Want to see how these work?
no subject
{ He takes another -- presumably the secondary that goes to the first walkie talkie that Arumat had thrown. There might be a brief smirk, }
I know the name, but I'm unaware of the extent of their capabilities.
...I'll also assume you play with this sort of thing often?
no subject
Not often but I've used them. [ He holds his up. ] So you have to make sure they're at the same frequency, and on. I'd like to see how far these can go from each other and still work, personally.
no subject
{ Yeah it's Old Technology to him -- ancient stuff. Fun times.
Arumat turns the frequency up to the highest frequency and shows Adam. }
Let's start with the highest amount. I'll stay in this room and you can start to branch out to another -- say whatever comes to mind when you reach it and of course I'll verify if I heard you.
no subject
He nods at Arumats plan and walks out of the room. To test, he talks into it there: ] Hope these actually work. I'm going to head on over to the gym. [ When he gets a reply, he'll do just that and then stop when he's there. ]
Do you think these can be used by accomplices? [ Well. He did ask him to say what comes to mind. ]
no subject
Verification complete. Move on towards another close-by area-- and to answer your inquiry... I think so. It'd make carrying out a murder easier if they needed to communicate with each other via voice should they split up. It'd be easier than using something like Furry Passing, for example.
no subject
Moving to the holding cells. [ When he gets there: ] So what do you think about the motive?
i just laughed so hard at 'a little inappropiate'.
{ He'd ... actually be irritated if someone used the app for that though. That's not what it was made for, clearly!!! }
Verification complete. Move ahead, sold-- Adam.
I believe the motive is one of the most simplest ones ALICE has proposed, and yet it could be enticing to a good remainder of those upon this spacecraft. Most people would die to protect a secret -- a civilian electing to turn into a murderer to keep it hidden would not surprise me in the slightest.
And your thoughts?
no subject
No, you're right. This is so personal that it's bound to hit someone hard. I think the idea of the AI telling people back home too—if that's even possible—is the most worrying. If someone committed a crime, they might be motivated to keep the secret hidden.
[ A sigh. Someone is definitely killing this week. ] Alright, heading to the airlock and then I'm trying upstairs.
no subject
It seems we're still a long ways before any of this foolishness comes to a halt.
{ YEAH he's thinking unless a miracle occurs, someone will be killing this week. }
... Let me know when you've reached the airlock.
no subject
Can you still hear me? I'm going upstairs next. [ He looks around it as he waits for an answer. Once he gets it, he'll do just that and... oops, looks like they're both getting static.
He comes back down. ] Alright, I think that's the limit.
no subject
{ Good idea, Adam! Let's pretend he gave Adam his answer, and then he'll focus his gaze on Adam. }
... An inquiry. Are you used to investigating, reaching on point deductions and looking matters in general back at your home?
no subject
... Yeah, I guess so. My friend was trying to find a dead Welsh king for a while, so it took a lot of investigating. I'm pretty fond of researching. You can learn a lot, even if it's not relevant at that exact moment.
no subject
Good. At least someone has the experience. It is no wonder you are able to perform well in your investigations.
no subject
I think you're more used to putting theories into action, right?
no subject
{ He almost smiles but he does his best to fight it...hah. Smiles are contagious but he's not really in the mood for them. }
I am, if only because taking action is what I'm used to. It takes me long to produce results with investigating matters that have mysteries wrapped deeper in enigmas I can barely begin to even fathom. This extends to the trials, since the killers like to make the mystery complicated for obvious reasons.
{ His words are said softer here, but with an undercurrent of frustration. He does his best, but he oft feels inept despite his best attempts. Granted, he's been doing better than usual, but he's curious as to how he could approach things, like Adam can, and get better results. }
no subject
I'd recommend we try to take things bit by bit, but it's hard when they deliberately obscure the events. Like with Shelley. I mean, that was pretty smart. [ An impressed tone. ]
no subject
{ He'll grunt-- there's a point there. It always seems to wind up more simpler than they could have imagined.
He'll sigh at the mention of Shelley. }
... She was rather intelligent. If only she had said something to someone sooner-- or -- hrn. It doesn't matter now, I suppose.
no subject
I know. I'd... Well, when I talked to her earlier in the week, she seemed really depressed. I just thought it was about everything else, not the motive. But I really don't think anything we could have said would have stopped her. For a sibling... You'd feel worse if you did nothing at all.
no subject
...
The relations between a human and their family are normally close, so I can understand that easily enough. She didn't know if she would have any other chance to be able to reach her sister, even if she were not to trust what the AI was offering.
{ ... }
Do you have any siblings, Adam?
no subject
no subject
Those related to me by DNA are likely dead as well.

{ Sometimes that's how life is. Which is pretty shitty, but there's nothing that can be done about it. }
