WEEK 7 - Trial

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (7)

saturday TRIAL DAY ONE

(24) survivors

At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort.

The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up.

The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body.

To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it.

Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

Elucidation on Crime scene/body + Observations + Wet Sink

[personal profile] thanatosincarnate 2016-07-23 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
EVIDENTIAL REPORT

At approximately 7AM, I headed down to the cafeteria due to already being awake, and noticed the door was forcibly blocked from entry. Luke joined shortly-- Luke and I observed Fumi Kanno propped up against the kitchen counter while she lay on the floor. Due to the fact we could only see through the small, grease-stained kitchen window only her top half was visible.

Then, there was a commotion in the vents that took our attention away from the state of her body. The first chance we were able to look back we noticed that Fumi's body had moved to the point it was out of sight. Adelina came to join us and assist in battering the kitchen door down, and it was discovered several chairs were used to keep the door shut.

I observed Fumi's body was now positioned beneath the cabinets, and that some string hung loosely around her person--and not a single part of her was wrapped in it. Her body was warm, indicating she had only recently died and there were no obvious wounds.
A broken, bloodstained monitor lay close beside her, likely used to murder her by smashing the back of her head with it somehow given the wound she sustained to the back of her head.

The sink was wet, indicating someone recently used it. Subsequent reports incoming from Adelina and Luke of their own findings as well as additional information. That is all.

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: I spent time in the lounge, just sitting around and not doing much.
8:00 PM - 2:00 AM?: In the Garbage Room. Adrien and Marinette passed by and talked with me for a while. Jessie also came, we sat around and left the garbage room together, not sure the exact time.
2:00 AM - 7:00 AM: In my room. Sleeping.

[When Shelley sees herself in the suspect list again she sighs. This is what she gets for being somewhere on Thursday night. First when she was locking herself in a cell, and now this week]

Adrien and Roxy are suspects too? Okay, that's ludicrous.

[She muttered that to herself but it was loud enough to be heard. Look, she likes those two kids, okay? Then, to everyone else]

Just like I said when Allen died: I didn't do it. This time I don't have evidence to give...well, I kinda do, but I think Jessie should tell it all since she isn't a suspect and she arrived before me to where we investigated.

[Sorry Jessie!]

Marinette and I met up in her room around 9PM, to prepare for patrol. We left at 10PM and spent the night patrolling the ship until about 4AM, then we went back to her room and slept. I woke up a little bit before the body announcement... I think it was 6:55? I'd left to take a walk before getting breakfast when I heard it, and I went back to find Marinette so we could start investigating together.

Nothing is ludicrous anymore. The question is whether the killer this week is by one of those things, or by someone who'd like us to think so.

[his reaction at seeing his own face on that list is a lot of confusion and some mild concern considering the. apparent alien parasites epidemic. if it wasn't for that he'd be offended, but he's going to stick with what he knows:]

Ah... I'm willing to answer any questions and give any help I can? I know people's word when it comes to these things isn't exactly evidence, but I'd never kill anyone. I swear.

8-ish: Tried to go to bed early because I woke up at fucking two in the morning thanks to all that bullshit that happened yesterday so I was in my room.
11:30PM: Couldn't fall asleep so I decided to risk a quick run to the cafeteria to grab a snack.
12:00AM : Didn't see anyone around and I was going stir crazy in my room so I decided to kill time in the garden. Yeah, it was a stupid idea but nothing horrible happened.
2:00AM: Went back to bed. Finally got to sleep only to get woken up by the announcement at 7 something and honestly fuck that. I turned over and went right back to sleep.

Around 9PM - Late As Shit: Clover's make-up was looking like crap, so I went back to her room to fix it up for her. Jack came along to learn a few tips. Exchanged a few other fashion tips while we were there.
Late As Shit - Who The Fuck Even Knows: Decided it was so late on Murder Night, we might as well stay in her room. Clover went to bed, me and Jack stayed up longer arguing about magic and science.
Who The Fuck Even Knows - Seven, I guess?: Accidentally fell asleep. Probably stupid, but whatever, we put enough make-up on Jack that it would have been the easiest to solve murder ever if he tried anything. Woke up thanks to the alarm going off.
Seven, I guess - 8AM: Decided we should stay put for another hour just in case there were any more traps out there again. Also, I needed time to do my hair.
8AM: Went out with Clover and Jack to investigate.

[He's not exactly surprised to see himself on the suspect list - honestly, he's shocked he hasn't put up earlier - but his face slides towards irritation anyway. Goddammit, this means he's actually going to have to pay attention to the trial instead of just playing Furry Passing and napping the whole time, doesn't it.]

So this is the part where people ask me shit? Whatever, I've got nothing to hide.

[also he sure does still have pretty pink ribbons in his hair, because I guess he just stole them from Clover and never bothered giving them back. fuck you guys he looks great]

Seriously? Again?

[Unlike last time where she was personally insulted Emily just seems tired and annoyed. Whether that's an improvement or not is up in the air. Either way she's leaning on the conference table looking surly and that's about as inviting as she'll be all trial.

Come question her.]

Yeah, don't let princess do your makeup unless you super love the smoky eye look. I mean, like, "could be mistaken for black eye" level. Also, science > magic. Even if his magic is pretty science-y. Weirdly.

Otherwise, yeah, can confirm this.

Wasting no time on the twenty questions I see.

[She's not stalling. That's totally not happening right now. She huffs, blowing a strand of hair out of her face.]

I don't know- probably like Matt or Sam or something. They're just my friends.

??? room

[personal profile] bloodteller 2016-07-23 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
The room with all the weird beds in them... Are they called pods? I'm not sure. Anyway, I went into it. There wasn't anything off about the room when I looked at it initially.

I looked a little harder, and there was a loose vent. The vent itself is hard to see, and higher up than I could reach. I had to climb on one of the pods to get to it. When I removed the cover, inside the vent, it was empty.

[Adrien swear to god...he's not entirely thrilled about this set of circumstances, but what else is new.]

You and Marinette were patrolling the ship at night. Where exactly did you guys go? If you could remember an order that'd be great. [But not necessary, he thinks.]

...it takes you an hour to do your hair? [Let's just ask the really serious questions here okay. But really, he's also just gauging Judar for the time being until he decides to ask real questions. (How do braids work he just doesn't know...)]
