[It's automatic - he reaches into his pocket to procure a handkerchief and immediately sets about wiping Adrien's tears with it. Frankenstein might not consider himself meant to parent - he probably really isn't qualified - however there are certainly moments where he can almost be doting.

Or is it because these are his last moments?

His expression grows rueful at that, fondly exasperated.

He won't regale Adrien with his past now, with why in a way, he most certainly deserves this. It may in fact very longer overdue.]

[just like Frankenstein, Adrien won't argue with that assessment, though the look on his face gives him away. What has he done to help him in any way? Even now, the man is about to die and he's comforting Adrien. The thought alone nearly gets him to step away, but his hold just loosens a bit. He doesn't want to let go.]

I'll stop this. [it's said with a desperate edge to it, but he doesn't mean the execution] This-- project, this game, I swear I'll put a stop to it. I'll do everything I can.
