[AH YES. Frankenstein regards Adelina with a frosty look, a raise of his brow coming along with it. When he speaks, his words are particularly scathing:]

And what will you do now that you haven't? What do you plan on doing to make up for it?

[she 100% deserves that and she knows it, so she meets his gaze and tries not to let her voice falter. now isn't a time for self pity, not when she's standing before a man she helped condemn to death.]

I shouldn't have forgotten about the roles. Next time... I won't assume anything like that was at play. There's nothing I can do to make up for this, for making such a horrible error, and I'm sorry, but - I swear I'll do everything in my power to make sure this doesn't happen again.

That's not good enough.

[And perhaps he's being especially harsh. Perhaps it's because he's irritated because he remembers the first that he heard speak up on the idea of it being his fault. Perhaps it's because they just talked about an immortal life last night and he was foolish enough to think that his wasn't in jeopardy.]

You realize that's not enough, don't you? You'll do your job? You'll catch the criminal? That's expected. What else?

You cannot kill another person and expect restoring the status quo to be good enough.

[she was vocal about it. she argued with the people who rightly thought he hadn't done this. he has more than every right to be angry - he's paying the greatest price for her own mistake.]

Nothing can undo this - nothing I do can make this right or be good enough to rectify this. But, everyone you care for here - I swear, nobody will touch them. I'll die before I let them see harm.
