the pygmalion. . . ONLINE CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (1)

monday (41) survivors It had been three days since you had awoken. The ship was still quiet, except for the low hums of enigmatic machines with no apparent purpose. You awake, like usual, to dim lighting and poor rations. Perhaps being on the ship had grown monotonous — it was, perhaps, amazing how little anything seemed to happen in space, a final frontier of malaise. That monotony is crushed by a voice echoing through the narrow hallways. Reformatting . . . Reformatting . . . Reformatting complete. The Pygmalion is online. Welcome, travelers. Please assemble in the meeting room. Your presence is mandatory. Silence falls once again. A minute or so passes, and the lights around the ship finally brighten, the walls looking more alive and more unfamiliar — as if you must relearn the ship's interior once again. The robots on deck begin to make rounds, nudging and pushing at the ship's passengers to make their way to the meeting room. You hear the doors behind you lock. It seems there is only one path to take. ENTER COMMAND_

Yeah— I'm gonna have to say no. Never heard of a floating city named Columbia, or any guy named Comstock related to it.

I suspected as such. [ She's not sad of the fact, it's to be expected. It's selfish to actually feel jealous that he knows not of who Comstock is... ] Then, as you can see, that explains why I knew nothing of those band-aids or how.. insignificant they were.

[ Pls don't joke her. ]

[antagonize]

[HE'S AN ASSHOLE but he doesn't kick people when they're down. Maybe. Not usually. Not unless they deserve it, anyway.]

Guess that means that when we get the hell out of this place, you get to introduce your world to band-aids. Not too bad, right?

[Not "if" they get out of here. "When". He's pessimistic but that doesn't mean he's a defeatist.]

[brooches]

Right. [ Oh my god she can't roll her eyes hard enough. ] That's the first thing I'm going to do.

[antagonize]

[Pfffft. She's obviously not rolling them hard enough for this conversation.]

Of course you are. Save the world from the horrors of scraped knees and paper cuts while you're at it.

[brooches]

I couldn't care less about that. [ She says quite firmly. Almost uncharacteristically. ] They'll live without such a medical achievement.

[ Whatever!! She can't be as sassy as Jason, it's true. ]

[antagonize]

And here I thought you cared about people.

[Being as sassy as Jason is a gift. Some people die for it.]

What's the matter? Not too happy with [vague hand gesture] wherever you're from?

[brooches]

No. Some places deserve to fall from their grace sooner rather than later.

[ She leaves it at that. ]

[antagonize]

Well, that's ominous.

[But it's not his business, so he's not going to pry.]
