saturday TRIAL DAY ONE (32) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

[there's not much to find in all the papers! most of them are just formulas and sketches that look like they could be rough blueprints of... something.... one of them looks like a strange ring, but the others look like things like oversized rockets (based on the measurements, naturally) and flying apparatuses. the rest are just doodles of... herself in chibi form.

as for the bed, it's mostly just clothes, as well as her genius wand, but it doesn't look like there's really anything special around otherwise.]

Maybe it's true what they say about scientists.... [Marinette immediately beelines for the wand..... but makes note of the doodles and sketches]

If I left my room like this, my parents would ground me for a month.

There may be a method to one's madness, but that's no excuse for the sorry state this room is in.

You're telling me. Not even our instructor's this bad when it comes to upkeep.

[ AND SHE KEEPS A TON OF BEER IN HER ROOM?? Which is undoubtedly breaking some rule, but Instructor Sara does what she wants. You can have the wand, Marinette. Machias is going to check the closet now. He's going to check with a sinking look of dread, like he's anticipating it to be far worse than what they've already seen so far. ]

in any case, rude? machias? she's definitely only... a little worse than sara, probably. either way, there's nothing notable in the closet. just more clothes that are predictably bright, but hung a little bit neater, at least.]

How can she get anything done like this?

I don't doubt she's very good in her profession, but one thing's certain: her room is as... unique as she is.

[ "Unique." ... Sure, let's go with that. With the closet taken care of, it's time to have a look at the shower room. Is it less of a disaster in here? ]

[food chute's clear, it doesn't look like she's got anything like that going on.

nothing near the shower either, aside from some makeup on the counter that might have pilfered from the aftermath of calypso's trial. and general toiletries, of course. nothing out of the ordinary at all, and also significantly less chaotic than the rest of her living space.]

[hesitantly peers around Machias to see what horrors lurk in the bathroom.........

is that palipso's makeup?]

...This isn't as bad I thought, but, that makeup...

[ it's not even a question. he's finishing where marinette trailed off. machias was going to look through the desk drawer, but fuq that COME ON MARINETTE we're looking at makeup and judging harold like the teen girl squad we are. ]

I guess she's not one for wastefulness, but still. Hasn't she heard of the fact it's just a little disrespectful to rob the dead? ... Not to mention a bit disturbing too.

[ thanks harold, he's going to leave this room with a whole new perspective of you. one he never asked for. at least tell us harold only took the unused articles?! ]

[calypso had a lot of makeup, okay. harold cares more about looking cute than letting something go to waste just because its owner met an unfortunate end. that's just the way it goes.]
