[Anyway, that bit about Jessie being unaffected is obviously bullshit, but they're not friends so Marinette's not going to call her out. Instead she focuses on the other discussion]
She definitely has... quirks, and a vindictive side, but if she's in charge of his place, I doubt whoever made her would just let her run wild. Maybe her original programming was less... sinister, and she developed her own personality.

[It's too early to unlock her tragic backstory.]
That's possible, too, isn't it. That's the problem. Everything sounds possible, and unless we've got some sort of genius who can look inside her, we won't learn anything. Why aren't we working on that?

Probably because we're getting too hung up on murder. [Jessie stop making sense it makes it hard to have a petty grudge against you] But you're right. We should think about ambushing her and trying to take her apart, or-- something.

[Thievery, not murder. Jessie is more on board with the hero ideology than she really wants to realize.]
It wouldn't be worth it for me to take the risk. I'm good with building machines, but I'm no good with computers. Someone here's bound to be a good fit for it, so someone should ask them. I told your dream date the same thing.

[Marinette drops her voice here, so only Jessie can hear her, though it's probably a futile endeavor]
I can disable her. As long as we have someone good with technology - we may be able to pull this off. [her face goes a little red at the dream date comment, no other reaction!! Wow, maybe she's learning]

She has to pause and consider this.]
I'll ask around. Don't make me regret this either.

Deal.
[this is as close to a truce they're going to get!!] Let's keep each other updated.

[Jessie holds out her hand.
Will Marinette shake it and make a deal with the devil?]
no subject
[hesitates, but...... as mean as she acts, she knows Jessie Cares About Things Deep Down. She's slightly better than Chloe.]
[fine, shakes it as briefly as she can]

[And there, one handshake, done and done.]
Have a pathetic and miserable day, Claudette.

[ah... nothing's changed then]

[And off she goes.]
