Maybe. But, uh, maybe it should wait until we're not both drying off next to a pool?
[WHOSE FAULT IS THAT, AGRESTE? AND WHY IS IT EVEN RELEVANT]
no subject
[even though this is all his fault]

What? No, I was simply being a gentleman. I wouldn't want you to catch a cold.
[he was just being a little shit]

[don't besmirch her honor]

[it's said with a smile and then he sighs because... alright... fine... he's done trying to escape the subject...]
Honestly, I'm not sure how to start talking about it.

[TRYING NOT TO SOUND EAGER... she's just a sucker for this kind of thing ok]

[gonna start by trying to explain superheroes and secret identities to adelina who most probably has no concept of this]

[short answer: no
long answer: what the hell adrien]

Okay, this is going to be a bit more complicated than I thought. [he'd leave to go "put it on", but he's pretty sure Plagg is mad at him right now. for some reason.] Um... That bad guy who's after my power and Marinette's is something called a supervillain in my world. No one knows his identity. To fight him, Marinette and I use our powers and... put on costumes, to hide our identities.
no subject
[it seems plausible enough, given that her world has magic.]
If he is a supervillain, then the two of you wield exceptional powers to combat him? Powers that... somehow involve your clothing.
no subject
Um. Sort of? But that's not the important part. [really trying to change the subject there!!!] We kept our identities hidden from everyone... including each other. For safety reasons.
["because my magic cat said so" also but]
no subject
I don't understand. Safety reasons?
...Is it because your father would be quite upset?
no subject
I-- yeah. He would be. [an underestimation, there.] But more than that, if Papillon--the bad guy-- if he knew our identities, then he could go after our friends, our family, even just us directly... Since we're his target already, it was just safer for no one to know who we were under the masks.
no subject
[a frown. she understands that worry.]
And these costumes are convincing enough that you expect he won't discover who you are?
no subject
There's over two million people in Paris. We put on masks and call each other by different names... we could be literally anyone. No one knows who we are back home.
